Around five days after the incident with Damian's friends, I woke up to the sound of Damian talking to someone. His voice was so familiar - the deep smooth voice that I’d have recognized anywhere.
I ran from Damian’s room, and there he was - Rai.
“Rai!” I ran toward him.
Rai went to the bottom of the stairs and opened up his arms for me.
I threw myself at him. It was so forceful that it nearly knocked him backward.
“Eager to see me, Princess?” He laughed.
“You are really Rai, right?” I touched his face and body, making sure it was really him.
“Yes, it’s me, Princess.” He looked at me with such a tender gaze and tucked my hair behind my ear.
I pulled him into a bear hug, not wanting to let him go.
“I’ve missed you so much, Rai. Why didn’t you tell me that you are coming?” I knew then that I did miss him and loved him so much.
