Chapter 7 - Illegal Element (Edited)

After the fire girl left the stage the atmosphere improved.

After a couple of duds another elemental was uncovered.

"Marcus" the old man yelled out.

A black haired man in poor clothing walked from the crowd up.

A drop of blood later and the crystal turned brown.

"Ah! A earth element. Good young man. There's high demand everywhere for a good Earth Mage."

Marcus looked overjoyed. A commoner man in the bleachers above cried tears of happiness.

Many people had their dreams crushed but there were also many who's dreams soared through the air. Not many awakened an element but that's not to say no one did.

"Water!" One time a boy cried. Seeing crashing waves inside the ball. Soon lightning enveloped the insides of the ball as-well.

"Ooh how rare. A dual element. You can surely get into a noble family with this." The old man stated another time.

"Amazing! A space element!" It was clear this year was great.

Eventually it was my turn….

"Krazis!" The old man yelled out.

I nervously shuffled my way towards the crystal ball. Since my transmigration this has been the most powerful feeling I've felt. Anticipation.

I outstretched my hand and the man pricked my finger.

Blood dripped down into the ball.

Suddenly the room dropped a few degrees.

The ball began to freeze. Only a third of it froze before it all began….

The room became freezing cold and the ball turned dark black. Cracks appeared in the ball and the black energy seeped out. Hints of purple wisps could be seen rushing out of the ball.

It was hard to make out, but other colours had found their space in the ball.

"A Death Element! Take cover!" The man yelled out.

The room was enveloped by terrible screams and ghastly noises. Soon enough the ball shattered and black energy flowed into me.

[Welcome, Death Walker] there were more messages but I didn't get to see before a noble yelled out.

"Capture him now!" My mind went blanc. I looked to the seats and could see fear in the eyes of everyone who saw me. Malice as well.

"Demon" "You monster" insults were hurled out towards me.

Guards burst through the door. They wore bright golden armour and reached out for me.

The black energy continued reached for me and entered my body. Many of the kids were limp. Asleep, or dead, I didn't know.

"Grab him now!" The old man yelled. Guards rushed towards me.

I looked up towards my parents with mortified faces. They watched on in horror as I was grabbed. But that's it. They watched me get grabbed not lifting a finger to help.

Suddenly my dad got up. But he quickly sat down and buried his face into his hands.

"Mom, Dad help me!" I screamed out towards my parents. They looked sad but turned away from me.

'Damn bastards!' These were my last thoughts before a sword was plunged deep into my chest

*cough*cough*

Blood left my mouth as I fell to the floor. Thoughts flooded my mind.

'Why is this happening? Why are they doing this! It's not fair! What did I do to deserve this?!?'

I was more bitter and angry than anything.

Despite the burning pain in my chest I still had time to stare at the guards.

Tears rolled down my eyes in anguish as I stared deep burrows into the guards.

"What the hell do you think your doing! I-I don't deserve this dammit!" I yelled out to deaf ears. The guard simply stared on with fear in their eyes. I was scared too. This is probably the first time since coming here.

"Silence! Your a Death Elemental. You should've expected this!" The guards roughly spat words in my direction as if it was obvious why I should die.

Sadness clouded my eyes when I saw my parents doing nothing. They sat with sad looks on their faces. But most importantly, disappointment.

'You bastards! I'm your son! Help me! Please!' My mind was racing. What to do. How to escape. But, alas, there was nothing a little boy could do against trained guards.

"Take the little devil to the church. They'll know what to do." The old man sternly ordered the guards while staring at me.

"Let go of me now! You don't know what your doing!" I ordered in protest. My face wasn't angry. It was bitter at best. My words were calm but loud and overbearing.

A man and a women ran through the doors in golden robes. I didn't see much but soon a golden light and water began touching the children. Their pale expressions lessened.

The red haired girl looked at me, mortified, that she had angered a death elemental.

I resisted in fear. I shook my hands back and forth, but I had only the strength of a 13 year old.

A guard replied by hitting me in the face.

"Shut it you little runt." He coldly replied.

I looked to the parents I've spent 2 years with. The parents I grew to love. They sat and watched in silence, as blood trickled from my mangled nose. The pain didn't bother me.

My anger turned to sadness as I sat with a defeated expression while the guards dragged me away. Still in horrible pain from the Stab wound.
