Chapter 20 - Truth (2)

Fujo made it back home via Speed Travel that he copied from Blake. He walked onto the house and noticed no one was in the living room nor the kitchen. He hurried upstairs and noticed Raicho in our grandparents' room with a bloody katana in hands and our dead grandfather. Fujo's eyes widened as he stared at the scene.

Raicho looked back at Fujo and her eyes shined brightly. "You have no one but Shidao to thank for this..." Raicho smirked and turned around to look at Fujo.

"Grandpa..." Fujo said as he was in shock.

"The others luckily got away, but your old man played hero. Funny enough...he carried this." Raicho said as she showed Fujo the Light Medallion. "Who knew...such an old man was a very important figure? I'll leave you to your grandfather.."

Raicho disappeared and took the Light Medallion with her.

Fujo walked to our grandfather then crouched down on one knee and looked at his lifeless body. He closed his eyes and a few tears rolled down his cheeks. He picked up our grandfather and carried him out of the house to give him a proper burial.

"I swear to you, Grandpa...I'll destroy them. I'll kill them...stop them for good. Whatever that excuse of a father started, I'll help Shiryo and Shira end it." Fujo said.

Blake watched and crossed his arms. "Our world has begun to fall into a dark age. King Icas is.."

"I know...His plan is to acquire Crests as King Damien explained before we left. King Icas wants to revive the Banished using the power of the Crests. We've got to stop him.." Fujo said as he created a hole using magic. "We have to end...why 'He' started."

Blake watched him and turned around. "I'll get the Gesian Knights ready."

Fujo didn't respond as he continued to bury our grandfather.

I sat in the main deck with Aaron and Shira, along with Aaron's crew, Phoenix, and Mika. "Tell me everything you know about our father. Who is he really?"

Aaron looked at me and took out a cigar from his pack then Skye used magic to light the cigar. Aaron took a puff out of his cigar then sighed. "Are you ready for the truth?"

I looked at Shira. I was ready but I didn't know if Shira was ready. I held her hand and she looked at me. "Are you ready for the truth?"

Shira looked at our hands. "I don't know, but I'll be strong for you."

We looked at Aaron and nodded at him.

"Your father is a very controversial person. Controversial in a bad way. Shidao in the eyes of some is known as a hero. We can't deny the heroic deeds he's done for our world. He assisted in stopping the Banished, he assisted in saving the Six Sacred Heroes who soon became Guardians of the Six Elemental Medallions that were used to seal the Banished, he assisted in the fall of the rebellion of the Milky Way Galaxy's Deities, he's a hero in the eyes of many." Aaron started.

"I see.." I said.

"But on the other half...he is a villain. He's known as the Ruin Emperor for a reason. He was enslaving different beings, killing those he didn't see fit, killed many members of the Doomsday Bloodline, even angered many Deities to the point where they hate everyone associated in the Ragnarok Bloodline. He even killed King Icas's sister after having an affair with her while he was married to Reina and still Reina has never figured out. He killed her once Reina's sister found out. In fact he had an affair with multiple women while committed to multiple women after promising Reina that she was the only one for him. He is a habitual liar. The only reason King Icas even hates your bloodline is because Shidao killed his sister, mother, and father." Aaron said.

"That can't be true...He always showed his love for mom.." Shira said.

"That's not all he's done. He destroyed countless civilizations, destroyed many planets and even went on a rampage by nearly killing one of the Grand Deities. This was all before you were born and once you were born he stopped, but his evil deeds weren't done. Instead of fixing the issues, he left them for you, Reina, and Shira to fix. His death was a planned suicide. He wanted you to see him die by overworking his body and using 100% of his Ragnarok State because he knew it would kill him. He knew that if you witnessed him die, you would want to avenge him. He knew if he died, no one would be able to tell you his past except Reina but he also knew Reina would never speak of him because she never wanted you to truly hate him despite everything." Aaron said.

"Our whole lives...We've been lied to about our father..?" Shira asked. "Who would've guessed our father...was just.."

"All he's done was set up for you to fix all the problems. The reason I know all of this is because he told be the plans he had. I wish things were different with him, but I guess you can say he was a true Ragnarok at heart. The Ragnarok Bloodline has always been known as the most destructive Bloodline out of the four of us.." Aaron said.

I closed my eyes and felt Shira's distress. I looked at her and noticed her saddened eyes. I rubbed her shoulder and pulled her to me. She leaned against me. We both knew our mom loved us unconditionally, it just felt like the love our father had for us was a lie. Well, it didn't feel like it...it was the truth that he didn't love us, but acted like he did.

"Listen, after knowing the truth, do you still wish to avenge him after all he's done?" Aaron asked.

"You know, after hearing the truth no..but we have to finish what he started. We have to put an end to what he did. So I'm gonna stop King Icas for the fate of the world. I'm gonna save the world for those I care about. I'm not going to be like our father and save the world to look good. This is my home as well, I'm not gonna let anyone destroy it." I said.

Aaron looked at me and smirked. "You and Shira are nothing like the Ragnarok. You're more...like Reina that anything. Kind, reasonable, and understandable. I will assist you in your journey all the way. Let's take down these Dragons and get to Adristan so we can get the Fire Medallion."

I looked at Shira and stroked her hair then got her to calm down. She always calmed down when I stroked her hair and rubbed her shoulders. She sniffled then wiped her eyes. She got off me and cleared her throat, finding composure within herself.

Our dad, mom, and grandmother were on their horses retreating from the country. Our grandmother was hit the hardest emotionally losing her husband of 50 years.

"I can't believe everything is now catching up to us. Something we had no part over is now affecting us and getting us killed!" Our dad said in anger of losing his father.

"I'm so sorry, baby...I'm so sorry. I hoped that if we had gone off the maps, we would've been safe from everything Shidao has done. I never wanted to drag your family into my mess.." Our mom said in pure sadness.

"I'm not mad at you, love. You can't be blamed. Before I met you, you were protecting Shira and Shiryo alone. Fujo is with them, I'm sure they will be fine. He's got a Crest after all, just like my dad." Our dad said. "I know a place we can go where they aren't going to find us. Mom, hold on alright?"

"Okay..." Our grandma said in a depressed tone.

Raicho walked into the meeting room then set the Light Medallion on the table. "One Medallion in our hands. We now have a chance in reviving the Banished and having them join our side. That old man wasn't an easy fight. He had a Crest on him. He's a Legend but even the mightiest legends fall."

Blight looked at the Light Medallion. "So it was true...He was the Legend of Light."

"Legend of Light?" Erin asked.

"There was a Legend about a Legendary Knight who stopped a Dark Overlord along with his team and the Legendary Knight was a man who wielded the Light Medallion enabling him to use the Shining Form that was similar to that of a Minor Deity. I can't believe it was him.." Blight said. "How did you beat him?"

"He was old. He wasn't in his prime anymore, although his tactics threw me off a bit. In the end, he died by my blade." Raicho said.

King Icas looked at Raicho. He crossed his arms and smirked. "I'm actually glad you weren't able to kill Reina. Leave her for me. It'll feel amazing, getting my revenge on her for what her husband did to my sister."

"Icas." The Deity of Souls spoke and a figure appeared in the room. "We have much more important things to handle. The boy...He weilds Eight Crests and is a huge threat to us all. Mind you those Eight Crests derive from the Eight Grand Crests. I don't know how, but he's connected to the Eight Grand Deities. He needs to be our priority."

"Yeah yeah, I know. I'll figure something out, but in the meantime we should head to Adristan. I heard from reports that they are stuck due to a little dragon incident. I know another way to Adristan and it involves going through the Yggdrasil Woods. So how about we cause a little mayhem there, gather some experience and then head to our destination." Icas said.

"Sounds good to me." Blight said.

"No objections here." Erin nodded.

"Good. Now let's head out." Blight said.
