As she gazed towards the owner of that hand she felt a relief washing over her. She saw him holding back his laughter soon erupted out.
Loud noise of laughter echoing in the four soundproof walled conference room. Soon she joined him.
''Eve, you should have seen your face it was white as paper" he teased her
Wh..at what do you want" she asked annoyed
"How many times i called your names, you were out of this world"
"It's lunchtime, let's go grab something to eat" he said taking her hands
She nodded and followed him as they went to the cafeteria.
Aaron, Ron as she calls him, the one that James talked about was one of her colleagues moreover her childhood friends. They first met when they were in kindergarten. A fight that turned into a friendship.
As they reached the cafeteria it was not packed as everyday, as they ran late. There were only a few people in the snack bar line.
''Did they all eat?" She asked
''Yes, I said them to have as you were running late" he replied.
They always had lunch with other colleagues who were from different departments. It was a time she always looked forward to. As it was fun talking to them. They all talked about different funny things that happened in their departments.
"You say what you want and take the seat, I will buy it" He said
"Sandwich and soda will be ok" She said
He nodded as he went to pick up the lunch and she went to grab a seat.
Sandwiches were mostly what they ate as they didn't bring lunch to work or didn't have the time to have a proper lunch. The morning would be a rush. They only have time to cook breakfast or just grab from a nearby cafe on their path.
She went and sat at the corner seat where they usually sit.
The seat provided the best view. The back side of the seating has a long curvy fish pond. The glassed wall showed the view of the outside garden.
He reached the seat with 2 sandwiches and a soda. One was grilled cheese and the other one was a club sandwich along with fries and sauce. Grilled cheese was her favourite one.
As they digged in and took the first bite he asked
"Why were you called what happened? You look…. Quite a bit excited" He said
She remained silent, thinking about whether she should say or not.
He waved his hand in front of her as she zoned out thinking.
"I don't want to talk about it right now, but i will say it to you later" she said
"So what about our plan" she asked to changed the topic before he would reply
As the plan is something they have been looking forward both their attention turned into it . They mind got occupied with with ideas about they plan while they eat
As they finished their lunch, they were still involved in their plan.
"We have to go or we will be late," he said looking at his watch.
As they were heading to take the elevator leaving the cafeteria they saw Eric, the secretary of the director running towards them.
"Atl…ast i…fo…und y…ou" he said as he stopped to catch his breath. He was taking heavy breaths
After calming done a bit he continued
"You both are being called into the director's office" Eric said.
They both looked into each other surprised as it was not an everyday occasion to be called in the director office.
