Chapter 1 - Prologue - The Painting

He stares at the magnificent house that has been his residence for decades. Employees and household assistants, seem to be going back and forth moving things from inside the house into the goods truck. In his arms, fast asleep a beautiful toddler who is only one year old. The man looks at his little daughter with a sad look.

"Dad, come on! We'll miss our flight," a gentle tap on the man's shoulder makes him turn his head.

"Ling," he says to the sweet long-haired girl in front of him. Sweet sixteen-year-old girl, her first daughter who is smiling sweetly.

"Mr. Prapto said that the expedition courier is ready to receive the goods that we would take to Oslo," Lingga reports. The man who was none other than Bayu, nods. A tear trickles down the corner of his lips.

"Don't cry anymore, Dad! I don't like seeing you slump for too long like this," Lingga comforts his father. The girl starts growing up to be a teenager and has to act more mature than her actual age.

"Hopefully our move will erase all memories of Padma," the man mutters quietly.

Lingga immediately shakes her head vigorously. "Don't, Dad! If you erase all memories with Mom, then there will be nothing left of her," says Lingga as she hugs her father tightly. "I'll always help you to take care of Heidy. We'll be fine, Dad!" she replies confidently and enthusiastically.

"Mr. Bayu, everything is ready. Let me take you to the airport," a male employee says.

"Alright. Come on, Ling," the 39-year-old man who had just lost his wife walks slowly towards the vehicle with his two daughters. Trying to cure his sadness by moving to a place away from all the things that remind him of his late wife.

Oslo, Norway

Twenty years later.

Drops of sweat begin to wet Heidy's beautiful and slender body. The twenty-one-year-old girl is currently doing her favorite activity, which is practicing kickboxing. With this sport, she seems to be able to distribute all the anger, resentment, and also something that she can't interpret clearly.

This feeling has been with her since she was a child. An emotional outburst that rumbles and feels so strong that it sometimes makes Heidy feel uneasy. However, the gentleness of her father, Bayu, has always been a silencer for all the emotional outbursts that Heidy couldn't control until she was a teenager.

One thing that makes Heidy's life even more strange. Since she was fifteen years old, she seemed to be followed by the same dream every night.

Is it possible that a person will have a similar dream for years? Heidy doesn't understand.

The dream was scary enough for her. Heidy always saw a castle in the lonely pine forest. She also saw a painting of a beautiful woman in red in the castle. Heidy did not know who the woman in the painting was. Then, what was the reason she always dreamed of it?

Taking a deep breath, Heidy finishes her practice. She sits on the floor with a body drenched in sweat. Heidy begins to think. It is time for her to speak to her father, maybe he could help her solve all the questions that have been swirling in her mind.

That afternoon, Bayu had just gotten home from work. As usual, he always took the time to greet his beloved daughter before he went to his room to clean up.

In the past, Bayu decided to move to Oslo, Norway to get away from the pain caused by the loss of his beloved wife, Padma. That painful incident has taken away all the happiness in him as a man and also as a husband.

However, that does not mean Bayu can completely forget the Padma. For some reason, he always waited for his wife to come back and end all the longing in his heart, which has made his life feel so tormented.

"Look, Dad!" Heidy, who is good at drawing, shows her scribbles to Bayu who is standing next to her. Immediately, Bayu frowns when he sees Heidy's drawing.

"What is it, Dy?" Bayu asks with a slightly tense face.

Heidy turns back to her father after she had looked at the picture for a moment. "What do you think?" Heidy asks.

Bayu does not immediately answer. He seems to be thinking. A moment later, he then asks Heidy again. "What are you drawing, Honey?"

Heidy then stands up from her seat. Holding on to the piece of paper containing her handiwork, Heidy smiles and tries to hide her anxiety from her father. However, she could not handle the huge curiosity in her heart. It seems to burst out and forces her to speak.

"I want to talk to you for a moment," the girl says, somewhat hesitantly.

"Then, talk! I have plenty of time," Bayu replies as he sits on the corner of Heidy's bed. Bayu slightly bends his body. He also presses his palms together and waited for what Heidy would talk to him about.

Seeing her father's warm attitude, Heidy immediately pulls a chair from her desk and put the chair in front of Bayu upside down. Then she sits down and folds her arms on the back of the chair.

"I don't know what happened to me, Dad. I've had the same dream since I was fifteen years old. A strange and ... very ... strange dream...." Heidy is stunned. Her pitch-black eyes move erratically.

"What do you mean?" Bayu does not understand the girl's words.

"Um ... yes, as I said before, I always have strange dreams and I feel if it is a pretty scary dream," Heidy explains.

"What was in your dream?" Bayu asks again. He feels more and more interested in the story of his youngest daughter. Bayu is a good listener.

"I dream of what's in this picture. This place, I see it every night in my sleep. A road with pine forests and ... wait a minute, Dad!" Heidy stands up from her seat. She takes a piece of paper from her book. A paper with another picture. Heidy then sits down on the chair again.

"Besides, I also always see the painting of a beautiful woman in the castle. I don't know who that woman is, but I feel something strange when I look at her painting, Look, Dad! I even always feel a strange vibration every time I think of that woman's face. I feel goosebumps all over my body and I...." Heidy looks very nervous. She is unable to continue her words.

"Calm down, Dy! Don't panic!" Bayu straightens his body. He then gently touches Heidy's shoulder, making the girl begin to show her calm demeanor again.

"Do you want to see the woman's face?" Heidy offers.

Bayu does not immediately answer. He just stares at Heidy deeply. There is a kind of fear on his handsome face. Bayu still looks charming, even though he is not young anymore.

"Why?" Heidy asks. She was surprised to see the expression of her father that she could not understand. "Do you want to see her face?" she asks again.

Bayu looks surprised. Soon he was able to control himself. Bayu smiles faintly and looked very forced. "Yes," he answers slowly.

Instantly, his heart stops beating when he saw the face of the woman that Heidy had drawn.
