Chapter 520: I'll Speak For Myself

Unless there were no better alternatives, it was better off not being used.

That was because there would be no loot left to pick up after it hits a target.

Everyone in the cabin muttered amongst themselves, but their attitude toward Qin Feng was changing for the better. Although that last move may have seemed a bit foolish to them, the previous moves he did were very impressive and efficient.

Qin Feng quickly landed on the huge landing pad, the other hover copters that were following him started to simultaneously arrive.

When they saw him rush ahead earlier and take down about 20 Giant Elder Eagles, any complaints that they would have had about him before were dispelled.

The border was at war and it was a desperate situation. Was there anything more important than killing ultra beasts and defending a country?

They even had a sense of admiration, thinking that Qin Feng was decisive and skilled.

"Everyone, we're here. Get off the hover copter!" Qin Feng's voice rang out.

The people in the cabin felt as if they had just snapped out of a dream.

By now they realized that the cabin door had already been opened.

"Ah! Right, right!"

"Yo, my dude, your gunner skills are pretty impressive. Here's an idea, you and I should team up!"

"Hey, be considerate. Add me in too!"

Qin Feng and Bai Li moved side by side and in the blink of an eye the two were once again ahead of the group.

He did not unleash a great power either, but he moved at an astonishing speed. When his Dragon Steps were activated, there was nobody that could keep up with him.

Some of the C-tiers found that incredible, but the B-tiers did not try to challenge that since they knew who he was.

Instead, they were more curious.

The beast king felt a great danger and let out a loud bellow as it tried to avoid the blow.

Its large body was obviously not flexible enough!

A huge slab of flesh was slashed off from its body.

The Bloodfrenzy Bull King boasted an incredible defense, even the shells that bombarded him only managed to singe a few of its hairs but Qin Feng easily broke right through it.

The bull let out a roar and charged toward Qin Feng.

"Dragon Steps!"

He became so fast that he could not be seen with the naked eye and leapt to the bull king's side.

With both feet touching the ground, he stomped hard.

Boom!

The ground cracked and he leapt high, instantly reaching the same height as the Bloodfrenzy Bull King.

The Verdant Emperor Saber was thrusted forward and pierced a hide that was as thick as the border's fortifications.

Pfft!

The saber sunk all the way in, leaving only the hilt still sticking out

"Out of my way!"

He planted a foot on the beast king's body and grabbed his saber before dragging it all the way down.

Qin Feng's actions made a huge wound that split open instantly.

He had reached the side of the bull that was near its stomach area. His weapon was about a meter long and when he cut down he parted the skin and split open the bull's belly!

Blood instantly gushed out. Qin Feng fortunately had his internal force to defend himself but the gushing blood spilled forth into the air. Nobody could see Qin Feng due to the blood shower blocking their view.

It was then the bull's innards started to slip out from its wound.

"Muurrrr!"

That attack was a heavy blow to the beast king!

It let out a pained bellow and endured the severe pain. Its head snapped itself toward Qin Feng's direction, swooping its horns toward him.

In a life or death situation, the awkward lumbering body of the Bloodfrenzy Bull King suddenly became more agile.

This blow almost looked as if it was going to hit Qin Feng's body.

"Fiery Rampage!"

Qin Feng unleashed a fire ability, not to the sides but went upward instead before dropping down.

He immediately managed to avoid the attack.

His hands started to get shrouded in a horrible force of dark energy.

"Dark Decay!"

A large patch of darkness shrouded the lower body of the Bloodfrenzy Bull King, where the wound was opened up.

It had already become an exposed weak spot and the bull was barely clinging onto life, having no way of resisting Qin Feng's rune based attack. The stench of decay clung to that raw power of an Emperor, eroding the insides and draining the bull's vitality.

The corruption continued to spread as the bull, unable to withstand the pain, collapsed to the ground on its side!

The Bloodfrenzy Bull King indeed had a strong defense, otherwise Qin Feng would have killed it in a single attack after using one of his finishing moves, but instead he had to use multiple attacks before his opponent would be weakened.

The following battle was much easier, Qin Feng's weapon burst into a burning light before he managed to sever its spine once the darkness had severely weakened it. The Bloodfrenzy Bull King was a hardy one indeed, but it ended up being the one who took its last breath.

In just five minutes, Qin Feng had slain a beast king.

Qin Feng was used to such a record, but this was surprising for many who witnessed it.

Soon, something that filled them with more dread appeared in their field of vision.

The beast wave naturally did not only have two sides, there was also a pride of C3-tier Luminous Lions. Their golden bodies and bright manes made them all shine brilliantly, with their Pride Leader shining as if a miniature sun.

The destructive force of a Luminous Lion was greater than a Bloodfrenzy Bull's. It moved quickly and used the light around it to conceal its movements. It was a tricky opponent for the average B-tier.

However, the Pride Leader was currently bound around the neck by a young girl with a whip. The whip she had was no more than three meters long, but once she had activated her ability the whip turned silver and grew a hundred meters long. After the lion was entangled, she did not kill it and instead looked in Qin Feng's direction.

When Qin Feng killed the Bloodthirsty Bull King, the young girl waved her hand and the Pride Leader crashed down in front of him.

Needless to say, this girl was none other than Bai Li.

Crack! With a tug of her spatial whip, the Luminous Lion Pride Leader's head was removed from its neck and it collapsed in front of Qin Feng.

He pretended that the Pride Leader was not dead and went ahead to stab it in the forehead.

The crowd roared and surged into battle.

There was a sound like breaking glass as his internal force shield shattered into pieces.

Following that was a sickening crunch of bones snapping, a right proper C-tier had unceremoniously died at the jaws of an ultra beast.

This scene was constantly replaying itself throughout the wide battlefield below the walls.

Qin Feng knew that there was nothing he could do.

Even before his rebirth, such a scene would happen again and again whenever there was a massive beast wave.

Humanity would lose hundreds of thousands of its own just to hold back the ultra beasts!

Would not a move like that be basically an uglier suicide?

"What is he doing? Is he crazy?"

"Get back here!"

"Who is that guy? He sure talks big, talking about going into the Far Woodland like that!"

Those people loudly exclaimed.

However, some B-tiers had a bright glimmer in their eyes.

"Qin Feng, if it's him then… it's possible!"

A B-tier muttered to himself.

There was a group of slightly younger people, about in their thirties, behind him. They had reached C-tier and had become an exceptional team. When one of them saw how their boss was staring at Qin Feng his heart beat rose and he felt a twinge of jealousy.

"Who does that guy think he is? He's going to that rift in the forest? What a joke, more like he's just afraid of the ultra beasts and has deserted, right?"

As he said this, the others around him also started to have doubts.

The B-tier in front of them frowned and turned to face them angrily. "Shut up. If Qin Feng says he can do it then it can be done. None of you are qualified to criticize him!"

"Huh?" The C-tier who spoke up before was confused, but looking at how serious his boss was told him that it was not a good time to be joking. "Yes Boss, but… who is that guy?"

Who was he?

This B-tier did not even know how to introduce Qin Feng.

The governor of some backwater state? Guang Wei's killer? A kid genius? Or the powerful person that could enter the depths of the Northern Abyss and come out earning ten thousand points per day?

After that, some beasts still appeared sporadically but they were easily dealt with by other defenders.

Only about a hundred goliaths had managed to escape. Most beasts were still trapped under the cloud.

Ten minutes later, the dark cloud finally disappeared. Two figures shot into the sky and continued to charge forward. The two blurry silhouettes were clearly Qin Feng and Bai Li.

While the place that was supposed to be woodland was now emptied. The land was entirely black and it seemed like a mud pool or a horrifying abyss.

After a prolonged silence, a B-tier finally spoke, "Prepare for battle. I can see a few dozens of goliaths coming our way."

The number of monsters that got past Qin Feng became larger and larger too. The defenders at the border were facing immense pressure.

Nonetheless, none of the aptitude users at the wall was seen complaining. They knew as compared to them, Qin Feng was experiencing ten times the danger and pressure. The beast horde had occurred too suddenly this time around. Almost the entire Far Woodland had been conquered by the never-ending beast waves coming through the rift.

The mammoth was thirty-meter in height and measured at least fifty-meter long. It moved like a walking skyscraper.

Its large body signified that the beast was probably very durable and vigorous.

"Bai Li, destroy its brain!"

Bai Li and Qin Feng were at least a thousand meters away from the mammoth. The beast did not see them, or it did not care since Qin Feng and Bai Li were two measly C-tiers and too tiny in size for its appetite.

Suddenly, the mammoth appeared to quiver slightly. Unbeknownst to it, a wound had opened up in between its eyes.

It was Bai Li's doing.

A spatial rift was created inside the center of the mammoth's skull and mashed the beast's brain.

Spatial ability was definitely scary.

The mammoth instantly dropped to the ground.

No matter how powerful it is, the mammoth could never escape such an eccentric attack.

Qin Feng and Bai Li closed in and saw the yellowish plasma spurting out from the wound in between the fallen mammoth's eyes.

Qin Feng raised his hand and dark runes began to gush into the beast's head through the open wound.

A while later, the mammoth got back on its feet. But there was no sign of life in its eyes. It was simply a lifeless puppet.

Qin Feng and Bai Li rode the mammoth and began to stomp the woodland.

As they charged forward, Qin Feng would kill the C-tiers while using the same method to turn the B-tiers into his puppet.

Not long after, Qin Feng had amassed a respectable legion of zombie beasts!

In the dark, the drones continued to film the progress with night vision cameras, and people had lost the mood to continue watching Qin Feng's heroic march. After battling through the entire day, most of them were dead beat and desperately needed a rest.

Those who took over the night shift, on the other hand, were not told that a crazy man was currently running deep into the woodland to get to the rift.

Qin Feng was now closer to the rift than ever. Around him, a few hundred B-tier beasts were clustering the mammoth and stormed on impressively. He was finally at the cave entrance when the first light of the day broke out.

The aptitude users who got their rest hastily turned on the communicator the first thing upon waking up.

Inside Beihua, Shang Han stayed awake the whole night deploying troops to strengthen the city defense. She sighed in relief when she realized it was already dawn.

"Where's Qin Feng now?"

Yuan Hao checked the surveillance video and saw Qin Feng entering the rift with a huge legion of zombie beasts.

"Master Qin Feng has just entered the rift of Far Woodland!"

"Gosh! He made it after all! But what does he plan to do there? Don't tell me he is going to guard the rift and stop the monster from coming out?"

"It's hard to tell. Who knows what kind of monster might turn up next?"

Shang Han was rather worried too after she learned about the news.

"Even if Qin Feng manages to stabilize the rift there, we are still unable to send him reinforcement at the moment to seal off the place like the Northern Abyss! What is he thinking?" Shang Han said.

After a short pause, Yuan Hao suddenly spoke, "Maybe Master Qin Feng is right. Taking matters into our own hands may be the best solution. Otherwise, we will never free ourselves from this threat."

"So what are you suggesting?"

Inside the rift, Qin Feng actually did not come across a lot of beasts.

A rift did not always open horizontally. The one in front of them opened up in a weird, disoriented 3D structure.

"Bai Li, can you close it this time?"

"You bet!"

Bai Li did not take out her whip this time.

Following the roar, the head of a familiar figure suddenly busted through the rift.

It was another Pyric Wyvern.

A B2-tier beast emperor, which ranked ten tiers higher than Qin Feng.

Qin Feng had never felt so threatened. He shouted, "Bai Li, we gotta run!"

This was when both of them saw the dark rift ripple and a horrible creature soon appeared on the outside.

Theoretically, the large-size wyvern would not be able to pass through the rift after Bai Li had shrunk it thin.

Maintaining shapeshifting for a long period of time may help in the micromanagement of one's energy but a B-tier beast emperor had no such need. They often run over their enemy through brutal force. A beast in the pinnacle of the food chain would hardly face any crisis that might urge them to sharpen their skills.

Thus, the wyvern did not hesitate and canceled its shapeshift instantly. Its colossal body was suffocating.

Its body was ten times the size of its already large head. Qin Feng estimated that the monster at least measured five hundred meters long.

That was about the size of two large city squares.

Even though Qin Feng and Bai Li had backed off by two hundred meters with one jump, the Pyric Wyvern closed the gap in one step and could kill them anytime.

Bai Li acted reflexively and covered them with spatial runes without being told. They disappeared from the spot the next instant.

When they reappeared, they were already out at the top of the mountain.

The danger level was not determined based solely on the beast's tier but rather its threat to the surrounding colony. A B-tier beast emperor could wipe out Beihua in seconds if it were not stopped in time. So it was understandable that the Pyric Wyvern was being graded as an S-tier threat.

Shang Han who had not napped for more than 20 minutes opened her eyes as soon as she heard the warning.

She stood up decisively and put on heavy armor as she walked out. This time, she had to take matters into her own hands.

"Elite guards, follow me!"

"Roger!"

In less than a minute, at least fifty B-tier aptitude users had gathered behind Shang Han as she walked out from the building.

It was one hell of a troop. Everyone was ready to kill.

The Pyric Wyvern roared ragingly after Qin Feng and Bai Li vanished into thin air. The beast swung its tail and collapsed more mountain ground around it. As a result, a huge pothole, where the cave originally resided, was revealed and the stabilized rift inside immediately caught Shang Han and everyone's attention

Shang Han was astonished. "The rift… It has been stabilized?"

"Yes!" Qin Feng replied.

"Okay. Then let us focus fire on that freaking beast!" Shang Han could not wait to slaughter the beast emperor.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The five hundred meter long Pyric Wyvern rushed at them intensely.

"Long-range bomber, on my mark!"

"Yes, Commander!" Five gunners responded.

But this was when Qin Feng chipped in, "It would not be necessary."

"What?"

They did not understand why Qin Feng said that but in the next moment, they saw a large spatial tunnel open in the sky not very far from them.

The spatial tunnel was at least three hundred meters wide. It was even larger than the rift that Bai Li had sealed earlier. The rift blocked the sun and greatly impaired the visibility around the area.

'What's the matter? Perhaps the rift has not been properly stabilized, thus resulting in the opening of another rift?' Shang Han was distressed and concerned. She could not imagine the consequence if another gigantic spatial tunnel from a different dimension was created.

A huge aircraft came right through the spatial tunnel. On its side, there were two golden words—Fengli.

The aircraft had a sleek design. It slid out from the tunnel smoothly and the tunnel immediately closed up after that. Within seconds, numerous guns were seen extending out from the aircraft body. Its main gun in the middle had a ten-meter-wide muzzle.

Then, white lights were seen whirling around the guns' muzzles and gradually concentrated into blinding blue energy balls.

The sound of a heavy turbine was heard and right after that, the blue laser was shot out across the air.

The laser landed straight down to none other than the ferocious Pyric Wyvern. The beast was stopped short and retreated after it was hit. A large perforating wound was seen on one side of its body.

The cut was so deep that its bone was left bare. Some parts of the bone were even melted by the laser.

The Wyvern's internal organs had also been exposed. The pumping sound of its beating heart could be heard even from afar.

One strike was all it took to heavily injure the B-tier emperor.

"Roar!"

Understandably, the Pyric Wyvern was enraged. But in its roar, one could tell that there was also a sense of panic.

Flames began to cover the Pyric Wyvern's body as a form of self-defense.

"Okay. It's hunting time!"

Qin Feng was the first to dash out.

Shang Han regained herself only after she saw Qin Feng move.

Those B-tier gunners finally understood what Qin Feng meant earlier.

The Pyric Wyvern continued to roar angrily. The ground that it stood on had been turned into a magma pool. Despite that, the injuries on its body kept piling up while the human fought tactically to avoid being harmed by the wyvern's ineffective counter.

As a result, the powerful B-tier emperor was eventually exhausted and succumbed to the joint attack by multiple human elects.

The large body finally fell to its death.

A couple walked through the door and into the main hall. Although they both had C-tier badges on their chests, they were the most good-looking couple in the scene.

The man was tall and handsome like a Greek god while the woman was stunning and exquisite like a goddess. As they stepped into the hall, their appearance seemed to have dulled everything around them.

"Look! It's them! Quick, get a good shot of them!" An editor of the Public Relation Department urged.

The photographer was a commoner. It was quite hard to find someone who knew how to use these machines and gadgets. This young man had recently gotten his awakening last year but there was no unique power awakened in him.

The editor smirked. "See? This is why you're just a low-ranked schmuck and I'm an editor. How did you survive this long in the department by being so ignorant?!"

It was obvious that the little photographer knew what these numbers meant. His eyes widened as he realized that the number of kills seemed to have doubled compared to last year.
