"See? She couldn't answer because she knows what she has done! She did it–"
"She couldn't answer because she has no idea why is that thing found in her belongings," Demitri said firmly, the tinge of darkness in his voice told me how he is trying so hard to not raise his voice in respect to his father.
My lips parted on what Demitri said. I was already expecting the worst. I expected him to be mad with me, to throw foul words at me, and far more worst, hurt me physically.
"Ares! I understand that you might already be falling for that girl, you must open your eyes to see the truth! She tried to kill your mother with a poison!"
"She said she didn't do it, Father, and that is the truth I chose to believe."
"You are not in your right mind. You must be bewitched by that evil girl!"
"Don't call her that," Demitri fired and I could feel the tension growing.
