Chapter 16 - Visiting Gringotts

(MCs POV)

The next day after breakfast, Grandpa told me to dress immediately. Dad said meekly from the side:

"Can I go with him, Dad?"

"What will you do there? Are you gonna buy ink and paper with us? I remember I told you to solve the problem with the German Ministry, have you already finished it? What about this month's report?"

Under Old Man's barrage of words, father briskly walked away. How pitiful of him!

"Why are you standing there, you little brat? Stop laughing and change your clothes. I don't have much time."

I went to my room and changed my clothes to tight (not skin-tight), black jeans, a simple white shirt, and a light brown vest. On top of it, I put on my black overcoat which is a bit slim in the waist part. I admit I copied the style of Grindelwald. It's really cool, so I couldn't stop myself. I learned tailoring, by the way; to design these clothes. I have already designed a few other types of outerwear.

After wearing black knee-high boots (mine has no laces, I just put my enchanting magic to make it stretchable with a bit of mana), I went to the lobby of our castle. We don't have floo-network at home. It's not safe as Ministry controls the floo-network they said, and I can't agree more. Safety is the biggest priority for the rich at all times.

"Why do use this one? I thought you made these clothes for some kind of game?" Grandpa joked. They already figured out that everything I do has a purpose and I am not your usual kind, even in terms of magic users.

"I want to use this outfit more often when I go out."

"It's up to you. Hold my hand."

The authors of all HP books didn't lie: side apparition is really awful. I managed to stop vomiting my breakfast though.

"It's really nasty thing. Many people throw up after their first side-along apparition."

"I know why. I am going to learn apparition next summer. There will be no problems with Ministry, right?"

"You can rest assured. As long as you show your success to me, I will get you a certificate. Let's go in."

We got in the Grinngots through its first door where a respectful goblin stood by in a uniform. I wonder if the goblins treat the wizards according to their status. I have never read books about polite goblins in my previous life. They have a complicated relationship with wizards, after all.

"Call Warwick for me," Grandfather told the goblin who was receiving the guests. He bowed a bit and went to one of the corridors. After a while, a goblin with a slightly different uniform came to us. He had golden spectacles and a chain of a golden watch sticking out of his grey vest.

"Patriarch Emrys, Long time no see."

"Hello, Warwick. I came here to discuss some matters."

"Is it about the allowance of this young man? I assume he is your grandchild."

"Your old mind is not blurred in the slightest. Let's put formalities aside. Put 1000 galleons every year on his vault. That's all. Give him a key too."

"Wait in the lobby and I will send the contract with the key."

"Ok."
