"Stay away from him, if you want a happy life." Amelia said threateningly.
"Ahhh, my life isn't happy as it is, so why should I stay away."
"You see.. I am getting used to an unhappy life." Adira replied with a small smile.
"I will make sure to ruin you."
Standing up, Amelia left her office hurriedly, if she had stayed a little longer she was sure she would have given Adira a slap.
Going back to her seat, Adira's defense crumbled immediately. Drops of tears ran down her eyes which she cleaned.
She knew she wasn't happy with the way her life was at the moment but she didn't mean to say that, she could remember when her she had her birthday.
That year was the first year her grandfather had given her a birthday gift.

The celebration was lit, her sister was mostly the spotlight, people came with several gifts.
Seeing her grandfather from where she was, she could bet the wrapped present on his hand washer sisters but she turned out wrong.
He walked majestically towards her,he had a smile on his face. Her smile broadened when she saw his smile.
"Here child." He said while giving her the gift.
"Thank you grandfather." she said while moving closer to give h a hug but he turned around and walked towards Lara.
"Here my darling." he said to her sister, Lara.
"Thank you so much granny."
Stretching his hands, he initiated the hug with Lara.
"You are the best granddad."
It was a small box but her instincts told her it was a hundred percent better than hers.
"Open it." her grandfather said while glancing at her.
The two of them tore the gifts open, her eyes landed at Lara when she heard her scream.
"Wow!!!!!!! thank you, thank you granddad." Lara said with a bright smile.
"He gave her a car." Adira heard a woman say.
Opening her own gift, she took out something that looked like a document, no, infact it was a document.
Opening it, she saw her name written boldly, reading through it she was sure it was a death certificate.
"Happy birthday." Her grandfather said while looking at her.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!" Adira screamed and immediately ran over to her room with the document.
"Maybe hers is a house or company... she can't contain the joy." Adira heard this from another woman.
Tears ran down her face, she couldn't help her own grandfather had given her a death certificate.

Now she understood why he did that, she wasn't his granddaughter. It was understandable now, cleaning the tears from her eyes she tossed the tissue away.
"You can come inside." She said when she heard a knock on her door.
Walking inside, Ashlin took a seat and with a smile she gave Adira a roll of tissue.
"There is no need to keep it in." Ashlin said causing Adira to burst out crying.
"I knew that woman was of no good." Ashlin commented with a light voice.
"It'll be fine, okay." Ashlin continued, standing up from her seat, she walked towards Adira and began patting her back.
Soon enough, Adira had managed to sniffle back the remaining tears.
"How did you know I was crying??" She asked.
"Oh I heard it from my office and decided to meet you." Ashlin replied.
"Oh thank you so much."
"You're welcome, I will take my leave now, you have a patient." Ashlin said while walking out of the office.
"We are having group dinner next tommorow, don't forget to attend." Ashlin said to her before closing the door.
Resting her head on the table, she inhaled slowly, she felt so dizzy right now.
Raising her head, she took her drugs from her bag.
