The Kitchen, The Rawsone Residence, Denver, Colorado...
Lonnie took a drag from his newly acquired cigarette and stood behind the counter as Lex watched eagerly as he made several sandwiches consisting of whatever they found in the fridge and threw them together. The countertop was a complete mess, but they were well passed caring about anything other than dealing with their respective hunger at the moment. Lex had still been uncomfortable about being naked in the kitchen as his average-sized cock dangled just above his pinked noby knees and his exposed thin milky frame gave him no clear means of comfort in terms of self-image. Lonnie had not a care in the world, as it had not been the first time he had walked about the kitchen naked with his sizeable appendage dangling below his knee and between his thighs.
The older man never lacked confidence it seemed, but of course, it had been largely due to him shedding his inhibitions a long time ago. Lex watched Lonnie fix his sandwich first and slide the plate which had been covered with potato chips via a yellow bag and a large glass of orange soda toward him. Lonnie made his sandwich next with the same trimmings and a glass of ice-cold beer, which he had brought the previous night unbeknownst to his so-called wife. It was only a single can, but it was enough to make him happy.
The two of them ate in relative silence for the first few minutes, just pleased to once more find themselves in each other's company.
"I've missed you," said Lex doing a bit of reflecting on the days he spent without his lover.
"I suppose I have missed you too, you little shit," replied Lonnie taking a bite of his sandwich.
Lex seemed pleased by this admission as he continued to eat his meal. Lonnie treated him to a small smile which Lex responded with a boyish one of his own before they eventually finished off their respective meals.
Lonnie had not liked being stuck in the good doctor's life. He had a life of his own and he was anxious to get back to it. When he awoke in the hospital, he'd been surrounded by strangers and worse, Hadrian Rawsone's wife who had been trying her best to assure her husband that she'd be there for him. The cycling of the drug had eventually put him back under and he found himself awakening in Hadrian Rawsone's home in bed beside his wife who had not at all been Lonnie's type.
"Are we going to go home now?" asked Lex looking over at the older man with a hopeful gaze.
Lonnie sighed as he leaned against the kitchen counter.
"I'm afraid things are going to be quite complicated for a while," he said. "For starters, as long as Good ol' Doc is married to Julia Rawsone, she can have me committed and worse should she see the need and I ain't much for insane asylums."
Lex was afraid of this.
"What if they divorce?" he asked as the wheels in his mind began turning. "What if, he left her?"
"It'll take some convincing him," replied Lonnie. "You can't imagine how it felt to wake up in someone else's life and not know much of anything about your own."
"I'm sorry," said Lex feeling a bit of guilt for having been the cause of it.
Lonnie approached him and stroked his cheek.
"No worries," he said. "And speaking of lives...where did you put the gun?"
Lex seemed to have been caught off guard by the line of questions.
"What gun?" he asked.
"Don't fuck with me Lex, where did you put the fucking gun I gave you?" asked Lonnie. "Doc's fingerprints are all over that hot piece of metal and if you did what I know you did then it could easily be traced back to that moron."
"I...I...got rid of it," said Lex stammering just a bit.
"You mean you used it to kill those idiots that shot me at the diner," said Lonnie sounding a bit agitated. "What the fuck did I tell you about going off half-cocked and nearly getting yourself killed?"
Lex looked down at his lap knowing that Lonnie had been right, despite not knowing how he had known about what he'd done.
Lonnie smirked as he touched his face.
"Oh I know you better than you know yourself," he said before leaning down and kissing him on top of the head. "I could see it the minute I gave you the gun, and the news reports about the murders only confirmed my suspicions."
Lex treated Lonnie to a sad smile as he closed his eyes feeling the sensation of his lover's touch. It had been a long time since they had shared any moment like this one and the shooting only put more than a few things into perspective.
"I'm sorry," he said softly.
Lonnie kissed him on the lips this time allowing the naked pale lad to lean against his chest for a few moments before he moved away.
"You know I love you don't you?" asked Lonnie with an arched brow.
"Yes," replied Lex.
"As much as this much-needed reunion was fun for me, you have to leave now," said Lonnie in a stern tone. "We don't know what we've got to work with as far as this issue of the good doctor goes and his wife is quite perceptive."
"But what about you?" asked Lex. "You can't just pretend to be him."
"Listen...my means of control at this point is only because she gave him a sleeping pill, sooner or later he'll return and the last thing I need is for him to get the idea of pressing charges against you." reasoned Lonnie. "As much as I'd like to be with you, we have to be smart about this."
Lex didn't seem to like the way this was going but knew they had no choice. If Lonnie was committed then there would be no way for them to be together in the first place, but Dr. Rawsone knew the truth about how his marriage was crumbling from within, then he wouldn't have much of a reason to stick around so to speak.
Eventually, the lad saw the reasoning behind his lover's caution given the extenuating circumstances of their odd situation.
Sadly, he agreed that he needed to leave and give Lonnie some time to maneuver with his newfound information.
Lex kissed Lonnie one last time before he headed upstairs to retrieve his scattered attire and took his leave of the Rawsone household. Lonnie sighed as he turned his attention back toward the beer he'd been drinking.
It was quite a thing to awaken and find that he'd been married with two daughters when just a few months prior he was free and single with various lovers and an odd fascination with the likes of the teenaged, but legal Alexei Bortnik.
Lonnie turned up his beer as he looked around at the life that his counterpart had established for himself.
"So this is what you've been up to for all these years, Rian," he said as he took a drink. "It's almost too bad that this little charade you call a life is going to come to an end."
