CRYSTAL POV
The words felt like a stab in my heart. My jaw dropped and tears welled up in my eyes. Even though I had been expecting something bad, I couldn't wrap my head around what he said. I stayed silent, trying my best to process this new reality before finally croaking out a few barely audible words:
"How much time do you have?"
My father sighed heavily before replying in a low but determined voice: "Not much—maybe just a few months… But don't worry about me; I'm going to make the most of this time that I have left. What worries me is you, daughter—you must cherish every moment life gives you, and never give up on your dreams. Now please put on a brave face and promise me that you will do just that. Can you do that for me?"
I promised myself that I would make the most of the time I had left and fight for what mattered to me. At that moment, I decided that no matter how scared I was, I would be brave and face my fears head-on.
