DEMETRE
All day I wondered where Julie and my father went. It was normal for him and I didn't care much but she always told me where she went. It was night time now and she hadn't answered any of my calls or texted me back, but if she was with my father then there was nothing worry about. I was in my office when Orlando burst in screaming. I smiled at him, he was all I had left of her.
"Dad, Julie's back, she brought a friend and she's really nice," he told me and this intrigued me. It was then that I smelt another scent on him that was mixed with Julie's. "Orlando!" My cousin Maya came in yelling after him, he looked at me like a deer caught in headlights and I raised my hands in surrender. "Traitor," he muttered as she carried him away.
I made my own way towards Julie's room and found her standing in the guest room across from hers. The scent of Gardenias hit me like a tidal wave and intoxicated me; I had only ever smelled it once in my life snd I couldn't quite place it. Her hair was like liquid silver flowing all the way down to her waist...No, it couldn't be, could it?
"Julie where did you go?" I asked my sister as she and the girl both turned around. Silver eyes met mine and dozens of forgotten memories came flooding in. My chest tightened it had been...so long. I looked at her though she was nothing more that a mere hallucination of my mind trying to help me cope. After many moments of silence I was sure she was not a figment of my imagination.
"Morgan," I said her name quietly but loud enough for her to hear me. Before I knew it my body moved of its own Accord and my arms encircled her in a hug. She was tense at first but relaxed shortly after and returned my hug. When we broke apart I realized that for nine years I haven't seen her and why would she just appear out of the blue? I looked at my sister who looked away from me. Realization caught up to me and I stepped back, horrified.
I was about to speak when I felt someone pushing into my mind, I opened the link and it was my father. "It's about time you showed up," I seethed through the mind link. " come to my office son, Julie and Morgan as well " He shut me out after that. "Follow me," I said and turned away. I sincerely prayed that I was wrong because if not then things would get out of hand.
We entered my father's office, There was silence amongst us as no one was willing to start. He coughed, drawing our attention to him. "Demetre I'm sure that you remember Morgan and I know that this is not what you want but-" I cut him off, "If you know this is not what you want then why the hell are you doing it then?" He sighed, "Think logically son, You are the royal alpha and ever since you lost your mate you have not carried out your duties of being Alpha king. You're stuck in your room or office all day, You don't attend Alpha meetings, you do not train your warriors and you expect me to turn a blind eye?" His voice was starting to rise. "So you thought getting me remarried three months after the love of my life was murdered was the best way to get me on my feet? Bullshit!"
My wolf and I were on the same page, he too was furious. "Watch your tone boy!" My father commanded. We were both Alphas meaning his command didn't affect me at all, but he was still my father. "Morgan is your chosen or had you forgotten that, You will take her as such; If anything she was your first wi-"
"Don't you dare," I threatened in a cool voice while my vision bled red.
The anger on my face mirrored his own, I paid no attention to the heart that was beating at 100mph and her erratic breathing. "I love my wife even in her death, I do not need some cheap replacement and neither does my son. I will not bend to your will, not this time." My father's gaze became even more threatening of that was even possible, "I do not care, as you can see I am not dead and you will do as I say or step down as Alpha."
All my anger dissipated; He wouldn't, I thought to myself but my father put duty before love and knowing him, he damn well could. I huffed in defeat and turned to face Selene who was trying her best to appear unaffected by everything that had just happened. For a moment my wolf too control and I couldn't control my next movements.
MORGAN
"....I do not need some cheap replacement and neither does my son," Those words...well let's just say the first cut is the deepest. Sure he was mad but how could he call me a cheap replacement? When he turned to me and my fear intensified. His eyes were not aquamarine anymore but platinum gold and they held an urge to kill behind him. Demetre let out a low menacing growl and went for my throat. He picked me up like I weighed nothing and slammed me against the wall.
That annoying ringing returned as the room spun around me and my vision became clouded with black spots. To say I was seeing little chirps flying around my head wouldn't be false. I clawed at his hand in an effort to loosen his grip of my very breakable neck. Breathing became hard as I gasped for as much air as I could get in. He only looked at me, "I might be doing this for my pack, kingdom and title but I will never ever accept you. You're nothing compared to her," a foreign voice said. Just as I was about to lose consciousness he let me his grip disappeared and I was on the floor. I coughed and gasped as tears threatened to spill, the next sound I heard were his retreating footsteps.
Juliette rubbed my back but I slapped her arm away and turned to face her and her prick of a father. "Is this what you wanted?" I asked as tears flowed freely down my cheeks. I was never much of a crier but today was so horrible that I couldn't stop even if I wanted to. Her eyes held sympathy but those of her father were cold and black. "You brought me here to pose as your son's replacement for his dead wife, you brought me here to be abused, the stories are true you werewolves are nothing but mutts with no sense of control or concern over your damn actions," Mr. Argento growled but I paid no mind to him and just picked up myself up and whatever was left of my dignity and walked out.
As I was walking something bizarre happened. My vision kept drifting in and out of the palace hall. one moment I was here and another I was in another hall that looked similar but much more mesmerizing. This continued for a few seconds and then Everything returned to normal. When I entered my room I was so exhausted that my body acted on its own and collapsed on to the comfy bed. Moments later my mind sucked me into a dreamless sleep.
NADINE
Malachai was not pleased. Oh no, not in the Slightest. I understood but at the same time I didn't. But whatever the Omkiron wants you get it done. Not out if fear bit rather loyalty and respect. Good thing for me I had the stomach to kill.
I walked up to that smelly human and knocked on his door. Sure enough he answered, shirtless I might add. "How do you know where I live and where's my pizza?" He asked. I hated that voice and the fact that I didn't have to hear it again made me happy.
"You made a grave mistake. You may reside on the king alpha's land but you have angered Omkiron Malachai and for that you shall atone with your life."
He looked at me in confusion which quickly morphed to fear when he realized my hand was inside his chest, holding his fragile heart. He tried to speak but he was too busy choking on his own blood. I flexed my hand and tore it out, throwing it in the bushes. I wouldn't disgrace myself by drinking such filthy blood.
I took my handkerchief and cleaned my hands, leaving the scene of the crime. I was just about to head home when I felt him barge into my thoughts. 'cell phones exist for a reason sire' I Said. He just laughed, 'come home Nadine things have taken an unexpected turn.'
MORGAN
We sat at the dining table just the two of us. Like before I couldn't make out anything other than his silhouette but somehow he felt like a safe place as absurd as that sounded. "How was your day princess?" He asked me, that voice sounded so familiar like I had heard it somewhere before now. I grimaced, "horrible." The next thing he did was stand up and before I knew it he was standing by my chair. The scent of orange blossoms and damp earth enveloped me, wrapping around me like a safety blanket, "I am sorry but don't be sad it dampens your beauty soon and Morgan, I'll come for you very soon or better yet. You'll be the one to come to me."
When I opened my eyes it was still dark out, I forgot for one glorious moment where I was until it all came rushing back the next. I sighed, this was my life now unless I wanted to die. Getting out of bed I made it to the door, I was sad and hungry all I wanted was to go back to my dreams with the mysterious stranger. I walked around the ground floor until I found the kitchen, it was empty so it must've been pretty late. The fridge was stocked but I just settled for some left overs, shuffling behind me made the hairs on my neck spike up and when I turned the nights events replayed.
I stared to back up, "stay away from me," my voice was almost inaudible but I know he heard me. Demetre paid no attention to me as he walked like a predator stalking its prey. My body started to shake when his eyes changed color as if that in itself was not enough another sharp pain invaded my head and I started to groan. It was like something was trying to push through and in an act of utter desperation I let it.
"I said stay away mutt," A voice that I was sure didn't belong to me but came from me spoke. Immediately he stopped and lowered his head. It was like I was watching from the back of my own head until darkness started to swallow me once more but not before I heard his wolf reply in an alien language that I somehow understood.
At the very last moment before I succumbed to it, a face appeared in my mind and it shook me to my core.
