Ilka was now confused about which one to choose the cute kitty, the creepy-looking skink, or the flying gold coin.
After a lot of pondering, she chose the cat, because it was the cutest of the three. She looked satisfied as she gently held it in her arms.
Meanwhile, another student chose what looked like a burning salamander. Both of them got teleported out of the hall.
Outside teachers and students were commenting on each of the student's familiars. Teachers particularly looked interested.
"That rat… It looks like a rat lord, this kid's got potential for intelligence."
"Why did she choose a cat over the coin…" murmurs were all going around when Ilka made it out
Looking at the screen they could see another student who opened his eyes and stood up. As it seemed remaining students took turns waking up.
He went a little forward before releasing his mana to attract familiars.
This time, six wisps of energy circled the student. He chose the one that transformed into a black panther with triangular-shaped eyes which were bigger than its nose.
Amya's turn came next answering her came two wisps of energy which both transformed into items, one was a ring, and a staff embedded with a magic crystal was another.
There wasn't much choice as Amya chose the ring.
It was now Anne's turn. She stood up walking straight she emitted her mana and this time the wisps seemed to grow agitated as if every familiar wanted her they flocked to her.
After a few seconds' confusion at the sheer number of options for her to choose from, Anne settled on the partially broken egg that was similar in size to an average human infant, and from which a pair of avian talons had already emerged.
Another student stood after her and this time it was just one wisp that turned into a small red baby dragon "Yes!!! A dragon!!! Behold the supreme lord of the freshmen" the boy grinned as he teleported away.
The teachers flocked to the boy ignoring Anne who came just before the boy.
"A baby dragon, it seems our magic department is blessed this year" A teacher complimented and another immediately offered to take him in as a disciple.
Only three students were left sitting inside the summoning hall, Yaseang, Asa, and Ciobara.
They kept absorbing mana for 10 more minutes.
Yaseang was first to end his meditation and stood up taking his wand from his pocket he drew a circle midair as he chanted spell name.

Immediately his body emitted the enormous mana the berserker held due to training Ciobara had recommended.
The familiars who were now returning to the gate after waiting for such a long while got attracted and suddenly as if a flock of fireflies got agitated.
The scene was crazier than when familiars flocked to Anne, Yaseang could choose any but he held firm to his faith and chose a manticore as he had always wanted.

Asa stood up next, just like Yaseang she cast the same spell [F1]. But the effects were underwhelming as compared to his, this time.
A golden-haired pixie came forward and other familiars that were about to run towards her backed down.
Now it was only Ciobara left inside. The teachers who were still looking inside were focused on Yaseang when he came out with a manticore.
Although the shock wasn't as great as when it was with the red dragon, the two geniuses had successfully distracted teachers from the summoning hall.
Ciobara stood and started to walk towards the center of the summoning hall.
She didn't need a familiar, as she already had enough knowledge to dominate the magic world; but for the ritual, she yelled while imbuing her voice with mana.
"I don't care who you are; even if you're dying, it's all right. For I have the means to even resurrect, so come.
Know that I will treat you as if you were a family member, even if you have never had one."
Familiars went into a frenzy just like it was with students before her. The wisps circled her as if a tornado of fireflies enveloped her.
She stood amidst this storm and let the familiars gather around her but suddenly every wisp returned, leaving her confused.
Her disappointment didn't last long, a wisp moved toward her.
It transformed into a turtle small enough to fit in her hand. It had its eyes closed as if the baby was just born, earning a frown.
Suddenly A small smile ran across her face as the cuteness of the little turtle won her over
"What a cutie you are. I will call you Carl; do you like it?"
"…"
Although she did not get a reaction. This would be its name regardless, you know, the silent confirmation principle.
Just as she named her the newly acquired pet, the light enveloped her and teleported her out of the summoning hall.
Teachers poaching two students using any means necessary got her attention. Yaseang and the boy who got a red baby dragon.
"Boy, accept me as your mentor and I will teach you not only everything I know but also give you an Epic Wand," an old man asked the boy latter mentioned.
Suddenly air started to distort. An old man wearing white robes with golden markings appeared. "How about you become my student," the old man asked, ignoring the other teachers.
"Wow, an Archmage is accepting a disciple."
"That guy is lucky"
"I wish I had summoned the dragon."
"I accept." the boy replied with confidence. "Hohoho let's go," His new mentor said while teleporting both of them away.
The teacher who offered the wand sighed and left.
A similar situation was occurring on Yaseang's side as many teachers were offering to mentor him.
"I refuse." That is how he replied to every teacher without exception.
"Can I ask for your reason to refuse every teacher?" A kind-looking teacher asked him
"I have one already."
"…"
"Can I ask if it is someone from the academy?" a sudden voice asked.
It was another bearded teacher with a huge sword on his back and his muscles bulging as if he was a world-class bodybuilder.
"It is, but" sighing he continued "I can't disclose their identity," but he was still having trouble ridding the bothersome teachers.
Ciobara shifted her eyes back to her little companion who was still asleep with its eyes closed.
Stroking its head, she whispered "Although I did not expect to get a newborn instead of a severely injured or dying familiar. I will raise you to be the best of your kind"
"I will make you so strong that every sentient being will worship your strength. They will tell their children that carl was the best companion ever."
"I named you after the name of a god, a hero had told me about. It was a God of one of the great realms called discord on his home planet."
"I would like to take you in as my disciple" suddenly a teacher floated toward with the offer
"No thanks, I am good as your lab rat" her indifference once again got on Mr. Aku's nerves
"Oh, come on this would make it easier to cover up, and what's with the turtle? I expected better from you"
"My answer remains negative. Being your lab rat is enough" Aku Bakarashi did not insist more and left.
