Now that she was done with her recovery, lunch and going over the memories that she was suddenly injected with. She decided to inspect her surroundings.
She found herself in a green lush forest, with humongous trees that reached so high that they gave the illusion as if piercing the sky.
The sound of blowing air combined with the rustling sound of the fallen leaves created the melody of nature. It was relaxing and before realizing it, she had been humming subconsciously.
Fresh sunlight penetrates through the branches of the trees, illuminating perfect spheres of water upon its green wands.
Due to her new memories, she realized she was on the outer edge of the forest which is also a monster buffer zone repelling any monsters.
The direction she was laying down was towards the main road coming directly from the capital as if she fell here running from the monsters.
'So, they even prepared an alibi for themselves if I was found dead Eh.'
She decided to upgrade the punishment bullies will receive twofold.
As she now knew where she was and the way to return, she had decided to return to the academy. She started running on her way back while also thinking of her current life parents.
She was the daughter of two humans, which could mean one of two things:
She would either be an original vampire or an adopted daughter, which she would ask them when she returned home. She had currently taken them as adoptive parents.
(While being an original would be the most interesting and desired option)
Her father was a merchant and noble of the lowest rank with no fiefdom. Her mother, an ex-adventurer fire mage.
When her parents found out about her being sick and the strange symptoms of the weird disease (her being a vampire), they took her to a mage, a friend of theirs for treatment and checkups.
After running some tests on her, he found her disease to be an unknown one.
So, he asked her some questions about this and what he found out made him suddenly feel a chill
The symptoms cease in shadows and darkness. But the sensation of burning and itchiness return when under the sun.
This seemed oddly familiar as if he had seen something similar before and suddenly the answer came to him. The undead
He had fought undead monsters long back during his days traveling and adventuring around the world. The undead was impossible to fight during the night and disappeared during the day at a particular location.
Categorizing her as one of them or something related to the undead but with the intelligence of a human, he was sweating buckets by now. Envisioning if they were the same amount as the undead army, he started doubting the chances of humanity against them
He was so horrified that he decided to finish her off right then and there.
As he began to unleash a spell to kill her, her parents realized his madness and the intent to kill. They angrily shouted at him to stop.
Although, a merchant, her father also had a few years of experience as a warrior due to him working as an adventurer for some years.
So, the three fought until her parents ended up killing the mage as they needed to protect their beloved daughter. But the battle did not leave them unscathed.
This event made them too afraid to ask for help and later when their daughter woke up, they strongly advised her to never let anyone else know of her disease.
'What the hell? Why are all of her memories calling it a disease? Don't vampires or at least some legends of them exist?'
These memories were increasing the possibility of her being an original vampire.
She took the quickest route to escape from the forest, aware of her own malnourished body's capability. Her mind wandered about ... While running, and without her consciousness noticing, she was on the road near the academy
But suddenly her thoughts came to an abrupt halt as well as her movements as she had suddenly lost eighty percent of her strength.
The spell that protected her from the sun had been canceled due to her now lacking mana.
'Oh shit, I should have optimized this spell for children as well.'
She now needs to walk the old-fashioned way, as running will drain stamina too fast as she gets burnt the whole way.
'That reminds me'
Rimming through her pockets, she found her student I.D. which miraculously had no burn signs. Her discovery earned a sigh of relief from her.
The sun had started to set already as the time was now around 5 PM. However, the clearing didn't help as there was no shade anywhere near so sunlight still did not show mercy.
Walking all the way and feeling extremely weak, she managed to reach the academy in half an hour. As she got closer, the fewer sun rays reached her and she felt stronger as she got closer to the academy.
It was now an evening.
The academy was as grand as any building with the name "Royal" would make you imagine.
With silver walls that were embedded with magic stones and some golden royal patterns which she recognized as magic inscriptions, it made you feel that you were about to enter a royal castle instead.
As she was about to walk in, the guard stopped her and told her only students or teachers of the academy are allowed entry. Beggars were forbidden from even entering the premises.
Listening to him, she just took out her student I.D. and showed the guard who checked and verified her I.D. and told her to get a change of uniform from inside the school while murmuring something she managed to hear but decided to ignore.
She walked the scenic route to the dormitory, basking in the sight of it from afar as one might the sun. The structure loomed overhead, a behemoth of a four-story building that could fit hundreds with room to spare. Clad in the purest white it blended with the pearly white clouds above. A captured cloud was marooned on the ground by royal inscriptions and black strips of paint akin to chains. It was a cloud brought low and served on a platter for any guest for their pursuit of knowledge. Promise for a brighter, loftier tomorrow.
She reached the knob to her room and opened the door. When she entered the room, there was no trace of her roommates, much to her expectations. She already knew they will only return at the final hour.
She went towards her locker and took a pair of clothes to change into
She summarized the information she had gotten till now in her diary.
1: She is most likely an Original Vampire
2: Needed to find out how the original body owner managed to survive for 12 years without blood
3: She had low mana capacity for her age, which she needs to resolve
4: She had to devise a plan to train herself along with resolving her malnutrition
5: She needs to punish the bullies that killed the original owner
6: She at least needs to take the spot of the school's best magician as her past life reputation is on the line
7: She also needs to find answers from her parents
Exhausted, she decided to call it a day and enter the dreamland.
