The next morning,
Jones sat in his study yet to get ready for work. Dale, who had woken up early as well, searched for him and was told where he was by Sam. Thanks to being the same size as Jones, he was able to wear some of the clothes that he hadn't used yet and he was already dressed and ready to head out.
He gently knocked on the door and pushed it open after getting permission to do so. He stopped at the door, surprised at Jones's appearance. He looked haggard and sleep-deprived. Never had he imagined seeing the ever-reserved and perfect detective like this?
"Jones," he called, taking slow steps inside. "Are you alright?" he asked, concern laced in his voice.
"I am fine, Dale, have a seat," he replied.
"You didn't look like this last night, what happened to you?" Dale asked after he was seated.
"Sam and I had a little talk," he said and a small frown appeared on Dale's face "She wants me to drop the case,"
