Chapter 26 - Time To Head Home For Dinner

"Come in and sit, come in and sit." Old Mrs. Chu and a group of Chu family members led Wu Guo to the living room.

Wu Guo chuckled when he saw this. "Sister-in-law, there's really no need for this. I just wanted to come here to relax. You're making me embarrassed."

"Consider this your own home. What's there to be embarrassed about?" Old Mrs. Chu said with a smile.

Wu Guo looked at the Chu family's Villa in reminiscence. This was the place that they had chosen together, and there were many memories about them. Thinking about it now, the good times in the past were all in the past, and could not come back.

"Since you're already here, let go of everything and stay here in peace." Old Mrs. Chu seemed to have sensed that Wu Guo was reminiscing about the past, but one simply could not just live in the past.

"Sister-in-law is right, but it was the right decision to buy this place back then. It's away from the city. You and big brother made up your mind to come here and left me alone in the capital. It's been hard on me."

"What are you saying? I'll cook for you tonight. I'll make you some dishes to go with wine." It had been a long time since old Mrs. Chu had been so happy.

The Chu family.

In the afternoon, Si Yu, who had just woken up from her afternoon nap, realized that Kun You had gone missing. She went downstairs and asked uncle Xu, only to find out that Kun You had gone to the office.

Si Yu thought for a while. Since there was nothing else to do now, she decided to go to the black market to take a look. If she really had to go to the capital to treat Kun You's grandmother, she would have to prepare some things in advance. Moreover, principal Shen's health did not look too good. Considering he was of the same generation as her grandfather, he needed to recuperate.

Thinking of this, Si Yu didn't hesitate. She turned around and went back to her room to change into a sports-style outfit before leaving. Before she left, uncle Xu asked, "Madam, do you need a car?"

"No need, it's close by. I can take a taxi," Si Yu said. She didn't think much of it at that time.

"Sister Jiu Qi, save me!" Si Yu dialed Jiu Qi's number. As soon as the call went through, Si Yu began to cry.

"Aww. What's wrong? Did the family surnamed Yin bully you again?"

"No." Si Yu really wanted to cry now. She had been waiting by the roadside for half an hour, and her legs were almost paralyzed from walking, but no car had come.

"Sister, you don't know. I just wanted to go to the black market today to buy something, but I didn't have a car. When I left, someone asked me if I wanted to give him a ride, but I refused. Sis, I'm so tired, but there's nobody to pick me up!"

"Take a taxi. Take a taxi!"

"I'm going to the black market, not somewhere else..."

Just as Si Yu was about to give up, a taxi appeared on the road in the distance. Si Yu happily ran to stop the car. "I found a taxi! I'm hanging up now."

In the dark room, only the computer screen was lit up. Jiu Qi looked at the chatbox on the computer interface and then at the call record on the phone. Finally, she sighed and replied, "The plan is suspended for now."

She then sent a message to Si Yu, "The Wu family's head has arrived at the Chu family's place in Dragon City."

It was already night when Si Yu arrived at the black market. Some things were not for sale during the day and were only available at night.

Si Yu was looking at the medicinal herbs when she was interrupted by her phone's ringtone. When she saw the word "husband" on the screen, Si Yu was stunned. This young man was so childish; he even changed his contact name.

"Hubby?" Si Yu teased that person a little when she picked up the phone.

"Um... Where is it?" She didn't know what expression Kun You had on his face. Today, he had quickly finished his morning shift and returned home, but this little woman had gone out and had yet to return.

"I'm outside. What's wrong?" she asked. Si Yu pointed at the antlers with her finger, then gestured an eight to the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper immediately understood and began weighing the horn.

"Don't you know that you have a home? You have to come home for dinner." Kun You's tone seemed somewhat helpless.

"Ah... Why don't you guys eat first? I'm afraid I'll be late." Si Yu felt a little strange. In the past, no matter how late she returned home, no one would care, and no one would call her to say that they wanted to eat with her. Si Yu felt warmhearted, and even her voice sounded a lot lighter.

"Okay, then call me if you'll be very late and can't get a taxi. I'll pick you up."

"Yes, yes. That'll be all for now. Bye."

Si Yu had just hung up the phone and was about to pay when there was a commotion in front of her.
