Chapter 1 - Moving?

I never realised how greedy my parents were until today and sadly, today happens to be my birthday.

My parents kept on talking about this gift that they planned on giving me and they kept on saying that it was going to make my jaw drop.

Honestly, to me, Jaw dropping surprises were to die for and I couldn't wait to know what this gift was.

Finally, I heard my name and rushed down the stairs, my eyes already glittering with excitement as I was guessing what it could be

I made my way to the sitting room and I saw my parents waiting for me with huge smiles plastered on their faces.

Now, normally, this would make me suspicious as to what they were so happy about, but I was happy as well and didn't raise anything.

"Happy birthday sweetie" They both told me, still smiling

"Thanks guys" I replied, my eyes darting around, looking for the gift they were supposed to give me

"Soo.." I said, stretching out my hand for the gift, but they just shook it like I was asking for a hand shake, What in the world?!?

"Ok darling, are you ready for your gift?" My dad asked and I immediately nodded my head in excitement

"Ok then, may we have a drum roll?" My mum said and she and dad hit their laps really fast, in a pretend drum roll kind of way

They were being too babyish and I couldn't help but cringe a bit, I was still waiting for my gift and getting a little impatient but I tried my best not to show it

"Congratulations honey! You're moving!" My dad said with his hands in the air like her just told me that I won the lottery

"We're moving? to where?" I asked, wondering where they had gotten the money for us to move into a new house

You see, they could never save up for anything and they always spent money immediately they got a hold of it

"No no no, you got it wrong, YOU are moving, not us" My dad said, pointing at me with that smile still on his face which was getting pretty annoying already

"Me? how? why? to where?" I asked, still very confused

"Well, we sat back and really discussed about this and we decided that, if you're not going to show even a little bit of interest in finding a suitor, we might as well get one for you right?" My mum replied, that already annoying smile plastered all over her face

"No! not right! you guys can't do this, I mean, I'm your daughter, how do you even feel okay with this?" I asked, looking at them for an emotion, but all I saw were greedy smiles

"Well, you're not much help around the house and you don't know how to do anything, keeping you here is like harbouring trash and we all know what we're meant to do with trash, get rid of it" My dad said

"So you're getting rid of your own daughter?" I asked in utter disbelief

"Not exactly, we're marrying you off to a rich man's son" My mum replied

"What!" I yelled in shock, were they really going to marry me off to some random man's son all because he's rich?

"Oh C'mon honey, he offered us thirty million dollars just to agree, you can't joke with that much money can you?" My dad said

I couldn't believe it, I turned around and was about to angrily storm up the stairs when my mum said something that left me speechless

"Oh yes and you're moving tomorrow, so you better get parking" My jaw dropped as I stared at them in shock

I couldn't say that it was hard for me to believe them because my parents were capable of doing such a thing

Even though I hate to admit it, they were right, I wasn't much of a help to them, all I could do was sit around and play video games or watch TV or just stare, lost in thoughts

I didn't know how to do anything, I didn't know how to cook or take care of the house, I just sat around and trashed stuff all over the place

Everything was done by my mum, although she called me to learn, I was just not in the mood, either I was on the internet, maybe watching a movie or surfing the web

I wouldn't say I was useless, but I wasn't making myself useful either, so I did deserve what my dad told me

I had just finished school and I wasn't ready to get married, I wasn't even planning on getting married, my plan was to sit around even more or play the latest video games and then brag about it to my friends

I kept on thinking about what my parents told me as I packed my things, I guess they have weren't bluffing when they said the surprise would be jaw dropping

My parents hadn't even told me about the man I was getting married to, who was he? what were his thoughts on this? was he in support of it?

I guess my parents didn't even bother on finding out about the man, they just agreed because of the money

How smart of them, ugh!

I just hoped he wasn't going to make my life a living hell
