"Miss President! I don't think you are tending to these problems existing here in the company... What have you done so far for the very last three months if it weren't only for making losses and creating problems? " A rough deep deep-toned voice echoed throughout the boardroom where they were holding an official meeting for the first time with the shareholders.
She had just been elected to that position a year ago and she had just turned eighteen years old.
She needed to tend to the company demands and also had to attend her University degree courses in the evening and during her off-time. It was truly overwhelming her. And she was feeling the weight of all the pressure melting down on her back.
She was looking pale and darker circles around her eyes could be seen, how could she have known that taking care of the Company wasn't an easy job? Even with all the burden and pressure, Su Mao still looked ethereal and her hazel eyes were still sharp and intimidating.
"And what all of you have done to make sure the company runs smoothly if not for always complaining? I already notified your secretaries that the said lands you want to project on are not suitable for raising high buildings! Don't you get it? The government is against that unless you want to jump into this visible fire..." She roughly banged on the large boardroom desk coldly glaring at them.
With her bloodshot eyes, the veins around her forehead had bulged and she was gonna rage at any minute if pushed harder... Her anger was just like the one of the Old man and her father.
They immediately kept their mouths shut with her sudden outburst, Su Mao stood up and pushed her seat backward with the back of her legs forcefully screeching all over the boardroom.
The directors and shareholders could only eye her as she strode out of the boardroom elegantly.
She strode over to the elevator through the hallway, it was on the 15th floor where the boardroom meeting was taking place.
She boarded the elevator up to the 50th floor of the Su Company, where her office as the President of the company was positioned, Arrived, she alighted walking over to her office door.
She opened the door and trudged in before roughly tossing the files onto the desk, they only cared about profits but she was looking at it in the long run! What if the project caused deaths due to those lands being unsuitable for tall buildings? What if they got hit by earthquakes and came down crumbling? The soil was unsuitable to hold tall buildings. In case of anything she would be the one to be blamed and she was the one who would have to shoulder all the responsibilities.
Not only were they pushing her to make wrong decisions, they weren't assisting her in any way to achieve this desired goal they were aiming at.
"Miss Su..." A simple lady who was her secretary walked into the office wearing a navy blue dress suit matched with a white scarf that was wrapped around her neck. She was wearing flat shoes and her hair was tied up in a ponytail... She was simple and elegant.
"Yes, Miss?" She tried to tone down but you could feel anger laced in that hoarse voice, how could she be okay with all the pressure that was mounting down on her shoulders?
"What you requested me to do, I have done the investigation, but there are no traces so far... No clues... Completely nothing..." She politely reported before showing her the findings, Su Mao had been looking for her half-sister, not only was she her friend but also her elder sister who had vanished without a trace.
"Okay... You can go home..." It was six in the evening and it was time to clock out.
"Okay, madam.." Her secretary left the office closing the door behind her. Su Mao was no longer in the mood to attend her evening classes and at the same time, she lacked every possible energy to do anything productive.
She settled down on her office chair leaning back sighing loudly, she opened the lower drawer and got a small passport picture, and held it in her palms tightly.
"If only you were here...." Her eyes watered, if her sister was around, she would have supported her, if only she hadn't broken up with her boyfriend, she would have gotten a shoulder to lean on. Now, she felt all alone with nothing.
"I have to be strong..." She carefully got a clean tissue wipe and cleaned her eyes before closing her eyes for a few minutes pressing the tiny passport on her chest and holding onto it.
She took a nap of roughly two hours, waking up, the entire place was already dark... She switched the lights on to get the files she wanted to work on overnight.
She packed her handbag with everything before exiting, she locked the door behind her after switching the lights off and strode over to the elevator, but it seemed to have been closed down too.
