The next day was here and I was feeling nervous, meeting everyone and knowing how I will help this community intrigued me but then again I was scared shitless.
After close inspection of the cabin, I realized I needed to get a lot of stuff for it, from food to cleaning supplies down to clothing too, I will have to mention it to Deimos.
The time was clicking slowly as I waited for him to show up. The clock on the wall showed 9 am and I was getting more anxious as the seconds went by. Suddenly there was a knock on my door and I let out a deep breath. Quickly jumping to my feet from the comfy armchair I went to open the door and indeed it was Deimos.
'Good morning, little one.' he said, the nickname annoying me still.
'Good morning.'I nodded.
I scrambled myself out of the cabin and followed Deimos' suit. He was walking rather quickly this morning compared to yesterday.
'Are we in a rush?'I gruffed.
'Not at all, just want to get this done and over with.'
So he's a little nervous about it too, I see. I don't think they get a lot of outsiders coming their way, so everyone will either hate me or love me.
As I followed him a few steps behind, the village came into the view and it took my breath away. The more I see of this place, the more magnificent I think it is. It's so beautiful here, more and more flowers on each corner, everything is clean and tidy. People were happy with smiles on their faces, well at least they saw me. The happy faces quickly turned into a few frowns and curious looks. Maybe some excitement too.
Yet he didn't stop, kept walking through the town of people. We walked through the town square, with a big fountain standing in the middle, marking the center of the town. It looked old and rusty, filled with ancient history.
He took me just outside the town, the other side of the territory, where a big mansion stood. Tall and mighty, it was actually breathtaking. It stood in a big clearing, covered with tall trees from each side, looking magnificent. You could tell the mansion was old, yet it held the beauty well. It had a modern twist on it, not disturbing the history of the building. I guess this was the most important building in the town.
I frowned a little, letting out a shaky breath.
'Here goes nothing.'I whispered.
Deimos only chuckled leading me inside the mansion.
We took lots of stairs and lots of hallways, now standing on the third floor, the fifth was the last floor there was, but as Deimos said it was off limits to everyone. I was led to the end of the hall, where big double doors stood. The doors themselves were a masterpiece, covered in carvings of ancient times. He knocked on the door four times and a grumpy voice from inside told us we are welcome.
Deimos swung the door open and I was met with a dark office, like the hospital everything was mostly dark-colored, yet it looked very nice. As you would expect from an office, it looked clean and tidy, though the desk was filled with papers upon papers. The wall opposite me was covered with mostly windows and I could see the beauty outside. The other walls were filled with bookshelves that held thousands of different kinds of books. I looked around the office once more, my eyes stopping at the man sitting at the desk.
And I thought Deimos was good-looking, Holy God, the man was a masterpiece himself. His frame was big and muscular, broad shoulders, hair ashy black, just about reaching his shoulders, it was slightly wavy too. But what caught my attention the most was his eyes. Piercing green, he was staring at me as if he could see my soul. I forgot how to breathe.
'Alpha Eros, this is the girl.'Deimos said pushing me forwards.
Alpha? What does that mean?
'So you're the mystery girl, huh.' he scoffed, waving his hand for me to sit down. And I did, without a single thought. He looked like a man you don't want to have trouble with. I guess he was the most important here, as his aura was blinding.'I will let you stay here as long as you don't cause any trouble, seeing as you don't look to be any threat. But, sweetheart I will break your bones if you try anything funny.
I gulped forgetting how to breathe again, my face draining of all the blood. Well, he didn't sugarcoat it for sure.
'No matter if you haven't heard or seen anything different about this town, you are not allowed to leave, if you accept that, you are welcome to stay and I will assign you a job and pay you well, though bear in mind nothing funny, yeah?' he barked looking me straight in the eye.
'Why can't I leave?'I whispered.
'Oh you want to know the reason?' he mocked.' Well, I should tell you then, shouldn't I? We are werewolves, half human half wolf. If you haven't guessed it already I am the Alpha, you can call me only by that. This man here,' he pointed to Deimos.' is my beta Deimos. He is second in command and it's all you need to know now.
I swallowed hard and nodded, forgetting how to use my voice. I have no idea what kind of shit I stepped in but looks like I'm stuck.
'Beta Deimos will show you around and give you the information you need, now get the fuck out I have work to do.' he huffed.
'Yes, Alpha.' I stood up as quickly as possible, my head feeling dizzy.
As I and Beta Deimos were walking out of the mansion, my head was filled with thoughts. I couldn't comprehend the idea of the werewolves and the rudeness of the Alpha.
'Don't worry, he's always like that, you'll get used to it.' Deimos half smiled.
As if.
