'If you're learning how to fight and protect yourself at least learn not to give up.' he looked at me dead in the eye.' Look at yourself, you look pathetic. Stand up and fight.' he howled.
I tried to get up once, then again, and again but failed each time. Tears threatened to stream down my cheeks. I breathe in a deep breath and muster all the strength I have left.
I can't show myself that weak in front of him. Anyone but him.
With a final try, I got up slowly, raising my hand to my chest and forming two fists.
'Now continue.'He orders and moves away slightly, to give us some room.
Beta Deimos kept coming at me and I kept dodging his punches. My body protested at me, but I kept going. If I'm gonna die from exhaustion at least it was from learning to protect myself.
'That's not good enough.' suddenly Alpha Eros pushes Beta out of the way and steps in front of me. I blinked a few times to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, but nope, he was right in front of me about to punch me in the face.
'If you were hiding from me and training her at least I expect you to do a good job of it, giving all the attention to one person.'Alpa scoffed.'Pathetic.'
Tears threatened to surface once more but I only swallowed them and got ready for the fight.
I will not give up, the only way I will quit is if I'm dead.
Alpha didn't go easy on me, with each punch my body was shutting down, no matter how hard I trained with Beta Deimos on my stamina, I was simply not fast enough for the man in front of me. Every blow I got, I felt it and it was painful as hell, but I didn't give up. Even tho my body was breaking and my lungs screamed for air, I kept going.
Suddenly, the time stopped, as if everything was in slow motion and I could see Alpha's fist coming to my face, but at the same time, my mind went back to somewhere else.
*VISION*
'I will make you pay, for what you have done to me!' The man before me screamed, his fists coming in my direction. His face was full of anger, rage even, and movements fast enough to knock the air out of me.
But I didn't recognize him. He wasn't extremely tall or bulky, he looked more like someone's dad, nothing outstanding really. But the anger in his eyes disturbed me to the core.
What have I ever done to this man for him to hate me so much? For him to beat the living hell out of me?
*END*
The question remained in the air as I was pulled back from the vision back to real life only to be punched in the face by my opponent.
From the force of it, I was knocked down on my ass, going down with a light scream and a grunt once I hit the ground.
'From this day on, I will train you personally, if you can't do the duties I assigned you at least I'll get the satisfaction of beating you while we're at it.' Alpha said mockingly and with one scoff he was away.
Well, shit.
I looked up at Beta Deimos only to see he was looking at me, his eyes holding concern.
'You know he will keep to his words, I'm so sorry Meg.' He sigh. I think it was the first time he actually called me by my name. I smirked.
'That's a problem for tomorrows me, now help me home.' I stretched out my arm to him. Deimos pulled me up slowly and still holding my arm led me away to my cabin.
My mind kept going back to the short vision I had, who was the man I saw? Where did I know him from? What have I done to him?
So many questions and zero answers.
****
The next day I was up early, the sun was shining through the bedroom window and casting rainbow colors everywhere. But I didn't lazy around this morning.
I got up and got dressed quickly in casual clothing, no one to be fancy for. Once I was ready I headed to the kitchen area to wake myself up with some hot coffee. When I was walking past the entrance I saw a little white envelope on the floor barely inside. I bent down and picked it up, flipping it over.
'Hmm, interesting.' I murmured to myself.
I made my way to the coffee machine, pressed a few buttons and put the cup in its place. While I waited for the coffee to be ready I decided to open the letter. I carefully opened it and looked inside. There was only one sentence written on the little piece of paper.
'Starting today, 7 pm, training grounds.'
I didn't even need to think long about who the note was written by. I sighed and put it on the counter. He's gonna literally break my bones, hopefully, Alpha Eros will go easier on me on my first day, but I doubt it, thinking about how yesterday went. It's gonna suck..
Today I needed to do some shopping, food was running dangerously low and I needed some hygiene products. Thank God, Beta Deimos gave me some money even though I didn't do any of my duties.
'It's not your fault.' He said. Of course, it's not my fault people did not like me. I was an outsider, a human at that.
I cleaned my mug, grabbed my purse, and headed out the door, locking it behind me. The walk to the shopping mall was rather long, but I welcomed it, I needed some fresh air.
The shopping strip was in this weird werewolf town. It's much bigger than I originally thought, it has most stuff you'd ever need. But of course, other people can leave the place...I can't.
Alpha Eros is scared I would talk to someone about their little secret. I doubt anyone would believe me though, they would probably put me into a mental hospital or something even far more worse.
Once I reached the shopping mall everyone shoot me horrible looks. It's getting rather boring now with their hostile manners.
I walked around stopping at the entrance of the grocery store and took a deep breath, I need to get this done and over with as fast as I can. I looked around the aisles, grabbing the stuff I need when I noticed a girl looking at me. She didn't have the same look in her eyes as others, she looked rather friendly, but I didn't say anything, just continued with my shopping. As if I'd get a friend here. They all think I'm a freak when in reality they are the freaks.
'Hi.'
I looked around making sure I didn't mishear it, it sounded more like a whisper than someone's voice. My eyes landed on the same girl I noticed earlier, she had long strawberry blonde hair and brown eyes, a little curvier than other girls around this town, but non the less she was stunning. I gave her a tiny smile.
'Hey.'
'I'm sorry if I'm being weird, I know you're not really used to people being overly friendly.' she laughed.' But I would love to keep you company if you don't mind.
I thought about it for a second. Sure I'd love a friend and don't really have anything to lose.
'Sure, I'd love that.' I finally answered.
'My name is Kathy, short for Katherine.' She put her hand forward for me to take it.
'I'm Meg.' Shook her hand gently.
We stayed there silently for a little second, Kathy was the first one to break the silence.
'I'm very happy to finally know you. Everyone dislikes you and I feel like you could do with a friend. I'm a little bit disliked too, don't have my wolf yet.
I could see the sadness in her eyes and slowly nodded my head.
'That must be hard, I don't even know what age you guys get your wolves.'
'Did no one actually explain anything to you?' Her eyes grew big.
'No, not really.'
'Oh well then, baby, we have some work to do.'
She grabbed my arm and led me to the cashier. I quickly paid for my groceries and off we went, her babbling about the stuff I didn't understand.
God, it feels good to have a friend.
