Chapter 15. Purple, bound by fate

"...Do you think there is any critical difference between a journeyman and a master? Is there something there in the aura that changes? An apprentice becomes an apprentice when the teacher decides he is ready. An apprentice becomes a master by coming up with something new. That's it. "

What is the best part of a woman's body? The great minds of all mankind still debate this eternal question. What to say, in ancient Greece - the birthplace of human philosophy - there was a cult of Venus Callipigi, whose admirers wore amulets depicting the beautiful ass of this goddess. This war has been going on since ancient times.

So, what will Sora choose, breast or ass?

The sweet, violet and romantic smell caressed Sora's nose, making him imagine as if he were in a flower garden. His bare feet slipped and traversed the wet ground, the mud, the wet fallen leaves. Blurry bright, sunlight shone through the leaves, and the quiet rustle of the grass caressed his ears.

But a cool stream of Synergy made Sora regain consciousness. As his mind wandered on the border between dream and reality, he felt as if he were drowning in quicksand, but instead of fear for his life, he felt a softness that made him forget everything.

Gradually gaining more and more control over his consciousness, Sora felt paradise more and more clearly. This softness, elasticity, and warmth, he unknowingly burrowed deeper.

- Is my student a pervert?

That voice made Sora fall from heaven to the hard ground. Abruptly opening his eyes, all he saw were a pair of ruby eyes staring at him from a deep ravine formed by a pair of lush breasts.

Those eyes were no longer cold and empty, but tender and soft, like those of an older sister. Her gaze was no longer one of mockery, no, it had changed to recognition.

It dawned on him...that legendary Lap pillow!

But before he could answer anything, he saw the teasing smile on his teacher's face.

- If you are a good student, this will be your reward. - Skatah's sensuous voice not only caressed his ears, but also tugged at the right strings in his heart.

Sora inhaled a large breath of fresh air and exhaled sharply. Rising from her lap, he felt a disappointment incommensurate with anything.

- Is this how a teacher rewards all his students? - A small sense of possessiveness settled in his chest.

- Only the best. - A chuckle escaped her lips. - But this Witch loves a man of valor. She has no taste for simple shirts, or inexperienced boys. But a brave warrior is exactly what I want, the kind with limitless potential.

She really knew how to tug at the right strings of his heart. Realizing he was being challenged, Sora immediately accepted.

As she stood up, Scathach measured Sora's eyes and continued.

- Having seen you once, I knew all the information I needed. Your skills in combat are average, but I saw courage in you. By stepping up to meet my spear, you have earned my respect.

- Did I ask for respect? - Sora unknowingly displayed his childish pomposity in front of her.

- Yes, any warrior desires respect, valor, women, and feats. - She spoke as if these were the well-established laws of this world.

Sora decided to refrain from giving any answers; he was only now realizing his antics, and he was blushing red inside with shame. Has he always been so... childish?

- Your use of Runes is insulting. Any Magic you use is too low-level. And you weren't much of a martial artist. - Her voice changed to a stern, teacher-like tone. - But you have good instincts, which were probably the only thing that saved you from certain death.

- I was never trained in combat techniques. Fighting to survive was all about killing the enemy as quickly as possible, with as little damage as possible. - Sora said, remembering his life in Terraria.

- You had an interesting life. Tell me about it.

A secret that Sora could not even tell his father when he was on his deathbed. Now he was being asked to narrate it to this woman he had known for less than an hour, what nonsense? But as he looked into her eyes, he noticed something he had never felt in his life. It was a strange and unknown feeling that made him open up to her. If it had been him, any, ordinary everyday person, he would have known at once that Scatah's eyes were filled with a mother's concern.

What an amazing range of emotions. The coldness and arrogance of a queen, the tenderness and gentleness of an older sister, the motherly care. It's amazing, because at first glance, she seems so empty and unemotional. Skatah herself did not understand why her hitherto stony heart began to beat so often. Even in regard to her students, Witch Dunscata was far more sparse on emotion. But pushing those thoughts to the back of her mind, she listened intently to her student.

- I am an alien. Having appeared in a place filled with monsters to see the next day, I had to fight to the death. - Like a child bragging to his mother, he spoke of his life. About the first battle and the first wound. Of the sorrows of defeat and the loss of friends. About the joy of overthrowing powerful enemies. He even told her of his ordinary, peaceful life. - But in the end I died, and by the will of fate I was brought into this world.

A sense of pride in this boy spread in Scatham's chest. Listening to him, it was as if she had not lived more than two thousand years, and she was both glad and sad along with Sora. Such an experienced and wise warrior, she acted as if she were an ordinary girl. She had forgotten the last time her heart had beaten so vividly. If anyone who had ever met Scatah had heard of it, they would have thought the legendary "Assassin of the Gods" had been replaced.

- I am flattered to know that my student has already saved the world, amazingly, but that doesn't negate your ineptitude.

- A Master knows how to bring the world down to earth.

- That's why I'm your Master. - Scatah said cheerfully. - Tell me more about this place and the energy that flows in your soul.

- This [Boundless Inner World], the "place" that is found in my soul. Here I am all-powerful, and I can have no fear for my life. In addition, here, I can control time, to a certain extent. - Looking around, he continued. - This place is created in the likeness of Terraria, in addition, I have equipped a small house and vegetable garden here. Though mostly I use it as a testing ground for my Magic.

Even though [Boundless Inner World] is much bigger and more complex, Sora has explained all the functions he uses in this place.

- And [Synergy] is an energy that allows you to work with any aspect of the body, absolutely anything. For example, I used it to take away my pain during our battle.

What Sora said clearly did not please Scatah. Her unhappy face may have been rather sweet, but Sora felt much more threatened by it.

- Throughout my training, you will not take away your pain. - She looked into Sora's eyes and clarified. - Not in training or in life. Do you understand?

- I understand. - She nodded to confirm her words.

- Pain is something every warrior should feel. Fighting is soaked in pain and blood, and training is soaked in pain and sweat. If you don't get used to it, you'll never be really strong.

Sora was already a little frightened by this trend. His teacher is a legendary warrior from a time when heroes walked the earth and mages could create Truth. Her mentality, no, her whole soul is tempered by the tenets of that time. Ashes and blood purified her body, and death and bones sharpened her weapons. Living in kinship with strict discipline, she grew stronger through pain and suffering. As a warrior, she did not back down, showing a valor that many heroes of the time would have envied. And following the law of the jungle, she grew crazier and stronger.

She spilled too much blood in her life. Killing men, ghosts, and Gods, she knew no mercy. There is hardly a species left in this world whose blood has not been sucked by her spear. And as punishment, death rejected her.

If you have something to say about the Witch of Dunscat, say she knows how to kill.

For people whose hearts are bound by a thread of destiny, time flies at an incredible speed, and so it was with Sora and Scatha. Feeling a strange connection between them, they behaved much more openly and freely. More than an hour flew by during this conversation.

- You've made one wrong assumption, I'm not a Heroic Spirit. - Seeing the confused look on Sora's face, she continued. - I am the Witch of Doon Scat never died, so I couldn't get into the Throne of Heroes.

- Then how did I summon you? - Sora asked in bewilderment.

- Your Source. The Void is inextricably linked with the Akashi, which records everything that has happened, is happening, and will continue to happen. And because you summoned me through your Soul, you have connected with Source through the Throne of Heroes. Root must have recognized your request and found the most suitable "Servant," which is me.

Sora had many thoughts. But the most obvious among them was "why the emptiness? Source is the starting point that defines our existence and guides us and our actions throughout life. But our protagonist is no ordinary everyday person of this world. As a "Creator Larva" his Source is surely much more special, so why did Akasha interpret it as the Void? Because of personal sympathy? Or because the Void, is the beginning of everything, and Sora as the protagonist started a new story.

- It doesn't make sense to wonder why. You're looking for power, think how and what you can use your Source for. - As if understanding what her apprentice was thinking, Skatah pulled him out of his brainstorming session.

Sora visibly brightened up, and how else could it be, when you have someone to guide you and help dispel the clouds over your head, life becomes much more pleasant.

- Master, thank you.

- I'll always be here. But now you should go back to the real world. This is the day you get a break from all your training.

- What about you? - He silently agreed with Scatah.

- I will stay here. It's an interesting place, reminiscent in some ways of my Shadowlands.

Knowing full well that he could not change his teacher's mind, Sora did not argue with her.

- Just don't break anything here, Master. - The poor man did not realize that for that comment, he would pay with his own blood and sweat. And judging by the irritated glint in Skatah's eyes, it would hurt a lot.
