What the hell was that all about " I asked Zarah. I was so scared my heart was hammering in my chest.
Zarah didn't Answer at first. She chewed her lips thoughtfully.
"Don't worry about it. I am sure it meant nothing" she said avoiding my eyes. We were both standing in line for food
" No, but did you see the look on the face of the guy in the middle? He looked ready to strangle me." I persisted.
"Oh don't take him personally he is like that to everyone"
Zarah said. But she was still avoiding my eyes. We picked a chicken sandwich each along with chocolate milk and fries. Then we both went to an empty table nearby. The rest of Zarah's friends joined the table slowly.
There were about 3 more girls.
A cute petite Asian girl with shoulder-length hair and bangs was named Erika.
There was a blond one with a pixie cut. She was tall, pretty and looked athletic. Her name was Jennifer but she liked to be called Jen
And last was Megan. She had olive colour skin black eyes and hair and she moved very gracefully like a dancer .she was the prettiest of the lot.
Zarah introduced them all to me one by one.
They were very nice. They all complimented especially my hair and asked how was I settling in.
I was happy that except for the mishap earlier all seems to be going smoothly.
I had almost forgotten about that but as I gulped my milk the group of guys from earlier entered the cafeteria.
I gasped and some of the milk spilt down my front.
All of them looked up concerned and Jennifer handed her a tissue
"Are you ok," she asked.
" Yeah, I am fine. Just took a huge gulp by mistake " I replied shaking my head as the guy with green eyes send a glare in my direction. Thankfully it was not noticed by anyone except me and Zarah and the conversation returned to Normal.
They discussed everything from My favourite colour to the seasons we were all currently watching. I tried and ignored the green-eyed Guy who was still watching me angrily.
Suddenly Megan noticed his stare. She looked around surprised.
"I say why is Daniel of all the people staring at our table as we ran over his puppy?? Not that he would ever have the good taste to have a puppy"
"No idea but he has been acting a bit weird today" replied Zarah
"Ignore him, "said Jennifer. "he probably didn't get laid this weekend "she laughed
"yeah probably" "doesn't give him right to act all Ramsay Bolton at us though," said Erika
"yeah he usually ignores everyone except his buddies," said Erika
I remained quiet as I had no idea what to make of this conversation. Zarah also did not comment.
Although I did find out from this talk that his name was Daniel.
The bell rang and I slowly made my way toward my afternoon class of history. Zarah didn't have the same class as mine so she went to biology in a different direction after wishing me good luck and squeezing my hand. She still looked worried.
