"Finally almost time for this to be over!" Fae said as he jumped off his seat and began to walk towards the stage, ready for the final fight to begin. Fae had completed 5 more fights since the first and leveled up to level 12.
{Level: 12 (Xp 500/2000)}
{Stat points: 10}
Fae had decided to save his stat points for when he absolutely needed them and would primarily use his Mythic rank to up his stats.
"Alright, I'm ready!" Fae said with excitement as he ran towards the arena. Once he was inside he finally saw his challenger, the one person between him and winning this tournament.
His opponent had a surprising appearance to say the least, while most of Fae's fights had been against nobles who carried themselves with grace, elegance, and pride; this opponent had none of that. He was skinny, with a sharp and defined jawline and sunken eyes. He seemed as if properly sleeping and eating wasn't a part of his daily routine. He had deep black eyes that seemed as if they'd pull out your soul if you looked into them too long, and short locs that fell just above his eyes. He looked more like a skeleton than a strong fighter, but Fae knew not to take everyone at face value.
"My name is Effy Limpervil, let's have a good fight." Fae said as he put his hand out ready to shake his opponents. "Joseph Limpervil." His opponent responded blankly as he slapped Fae's hand away.
Once Fae heard his opponents name his mind began to run a million miles an hour, was this someone from THE Limpervil family? Did he know Fae wasn't using his true name? Fae didn't know the answers, but something told him this fight would be anything but simple.
"BEGIN!"
As the fight started Fae dashed at Joseph hoping to overwhelm him with speed, but when Fae punched where Joseph was supposed to be he was only met with air, suddenly Fae felt a pressure on his leg as he fell to his knees. Joseph had suddenly appeared behind him and kicked his leg inward bringing him to the ground. 'How the hell is he so fast!' Fae thought in surprise.
"You know, my Limpervil family keeps track of everyone that happens to have the last name as us, so imagine my surprise when a new Limpervil popped up on campus that I'd never heard of." Joseph spoke blankly as he punched Fae in the back sending him flying.
*GAHH* Fae abruptly exhaled as the wind was knocked out of him, this was a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time, he was being completely overpowered. "How do you expect to know everyone with the last name? It's just a coinci-" Fae's words were cut off as Joseph shouted and grabbed Fae by his throat. "Now I'm going to give you one chance to answer this. Who are you really?" Joseph spoke loosening the pressure on Fae's neck just enough for him to speak. "Effy Limp-" Suddenly Fae was cut off as he was thrown across the stadium. "SHUT UP!" Joseph screamed frantically.
"Do you think you could just piggy back off the name of a great family? Do you know what it means? Have you gone through what REAL Limpervil's have gone through?" Joseph asked slowly walking towards Fae, an angry look on his face. "It's just a name, I don't understand why you're so hung up on titles" Fae said sounding slightly annoyed.
"A name is more than a title." Joseph spoke coming to an abrupt halt. "You don't know the HALF of what it means to carry this name, you don't know the pressure, you don't know the pain, but don't worry 'Effy' I'll show you." Joseph said in a menacing tone as black flames surrounded both his hands like flames.
Immediately Joseph vanished from Fae's sight, but Fae was calm this time. He knew Joseph was fast enough to exit his vision, and assumed Joseph would do what he did before and appear behind him. As Fae turned around and swung his fist out ready to hit Joseph he was surprised too see there was no one there. "Suffer." A voice whispered behind him as he suddenly felt a fist connect with his back.
"Did you really think I'd be that predictable?" Joseph asked with a bored expression. "How could someone as weak and naive as you make it to the finals? Are we sure this isn't a fluke?" Joseph asked with a yawn. "Like this!" Fae screamed as he decided to use a skill. {Devourer's Pressure} Fae activated the effect and let out a sigh of relief, he had really won the tournament.... or so he thought.
*BAM* Suddenly Fae felt a pressure on his face as Joseph's fist slammed against it. "Did you really think a pressure as weak as this would truly have an effect on me?" Joseph asked as the flames on his arms began to burn an even darker and harsher flame. "No more games!" Joseph called as he dashed towards Fae and placed his hand against Fae's leg. Immediately Fae felt it as his leg got set on fire. The fire began to spread further up his leg and Fae was frantically thinking about what he was supposed to do against this. He tried using his Frost Warrior powers to freeze his legs and counteract the fire, but Fae's ice was instantly melted away in front of Joseph's fire.
Fae was scared this may be the end of him, how was he supposed to defeat someone so much more powerful than him? He just couldn't see it happening. Instead of trying to put out the flames he instead threw himself at Joseph, the animalistic style of the attack threw Joseph off for a moment and cut his concentration off enough for Fae to get in a good punch to Joseph's chest.
As Fae slammed his fist into Joseph's chest he was excited to see he could actually strike him, but that excitement quickly faded as he realized Joseph seemed to be completely unaffected by his attack.
"Are you some type of idiot?" Joseph said as he placed his burning hand onto Fae's face, directly causing the black flame to burn over Fae's head.
