"I defeated him?" Fae pondered as he and Tessa ran through the forest. He had blacked out after Joseph stabbed through his stomach, and assumed Tessa had been the one to save him.
*ROAR* The giant let out a howl as it's speed increased. As Fae and Tessa ran through the forest, the sounds of the giant roaring and ripping through the trees followed close behind.
"Can you beat it Tess?" Fae asked, trying to find a way to lose the giant. "Forest Giants are at least spirit rank 3 I'm only spirit rank 1." Tessa said as a sad look flashed across her face, she felt like this was all her fault; she was the one who chased him away thinking he was a zombie, she was the one who used the capsule in the middle of the forest, and now she wasn't even strong enough to fight.
'Stat window' Fae thought to himself as an idea came to mind.
{Stats}
Strength: 3
Agillity: 3
Intelligence: 5
Health: 2
Mind: 1
Stat points: 11
Fae realized 4 of his previous 5 had been during his fight against the twins and he'd gained 10, leaving him with 11; it was time to set his plan in motion.
"Tessa can your shadow hold him?" Fae asked as he turned to Tessa with a hopeful look. Tessa had the bloodline of the Shadow Wolf, giving her control over shadows along with an array of other benefits. Her bloodline purity rank was B+ allowing her shadow abilities to be almost peerless amongst those near her rank, those shadow abilities were exactly what Fae needed right now.
"My shadow can slow him down but not for long." Tessa replied as she began to slow down. "That's perfect, wait for my call." Fae said as he turned around and ran towards the giant.
As he got closer his heartbeat began to stutter, no matter how much he believed in his plan, the fear of facing an existence leagues above him in strength was terrifying. Once he was close enough he jumped towards the giants nose, luckily the giant was strength based and too slow to react. Right before his fist connected with the giants nose he spoke to the system 'POUR ALL 11 POINTS IN STRENGTH!'
{Strength: 14}
*BANG* A loud burst sounded through the trees as Fae's full powered punch hit the giant.
"Fae!" Tessa called out as the giant had suddenly moved to swat Fae off of him like a fly. 'Wow as expected, even with all this new strength I can't put a dent in a spirit 3 rank giant.' Fae thought as he jumped off the giants face, avoiding the giants hand as he began to freefall. 'Thankfully that was never the plan.' Fae thought with a smirk.
"NOW!" He called to Tessa, signaling her to use her shadows. "Shadow lock!" Tessa called, her prior fear now replaced with her confidence in her abilities.
As the giant began to slow down due to the shadow, Fae knew what he needed to do. "Sorry man, business is business." Fae called as he stopped his fall by latching onto the giants makeshift leather undergarments.
The scene that followed was one which would cause any man to clench their jewels. As Fae began to crawl into the giants underpants and release a barrage of punches and kicks at its unprotected nether regions.
That was the plan, he had punched its nose to get the giant to move its hands, and because of Tessa's shadow lock the giant couldn't stop the assault in time.
*AHHHHHHHHH* a scream that shook the forest was released as the giant cried in pain and fell to the ground, barely giving Fae enough time to crawl out before he was crushed.
"I need a bath." Fae said with a disgusted expression as he walked towards Tessa. Tessa clenched her nose as she turned away from Fae "YOU STINK!" she laughed out. "Whatever, where's the nearest inn?" Fae called as he and Tessa began to walk off heading towards the nearest town.

After half a day of walking and Tessa catching Fae up on what he's missed, she finally asked him what had been weighing down on her "What are you going to do now?" Fae had been betrayed and forsaken by the orphanage that raised him, he was useless and they never let him forget it, it even got him killed in the end. "Well I'm not going to try and destroy the orphanage if that's what you're asking." Fae replied as his gaze darkened in thought. Fae didn't have any plans to attack the orphanage or anything, the twins who killed him were already dead, and the one responsible for it all was Tessa's mother; he wouldn't go after her, Tessa had done to much for him to go out and attack her mother. "So you'll come back to the orphanage?" Tessa asked with a hopeful expression.
"No, I'm sorry but there's nothing for me there." Fae said as he looked at Tessa with a smile, but Tessa knew Fae enough to see the pain behind it.
Tessa knew this was all her fault. Fae had been a distraction to her, and her mother would never allow a distraction to fester. She thought of all the times she would stop her training to go save him from bullies, all the nights they snuck away from the orphanage to go watch plays at the theatre, if she hadn't done any of that than maybe he would've been ok; he never would've had to suffer.
"We're here." Tessa was broken out of her thoughts as Fae voiced out that they had arrived at an inn.
'The Raxton Inn' bold letters hung down above the door announcing the name of the inn. Fae walked up to the door and opened it, Tessa following behind him. "Welcome, how may I help you today." A fat man rushed out in front of them to say, he was surprisingly fast for his size, with a shiny bald head, and a face only a mother could love. As Tessa and Fae looked at him they only had one thought 'His breath is terrible.'
