Chapter 16 - 16 Cassidy and Lucian

Sister? Not just a look alike?

This man was surely out of his mind.

" She left after giving birth to you and your sister without traces of her new location. She had taken you along with her because she didn't know there was another. I was willing to come back to make things work out for us.. that was the only way out but she had declined. She wanted to go with your step father."

Cassidy glanced at him blankly.

Her scatty gaze gave that away.

She was preoccupied at the moment and she was itching to ask plenty questions.

But, did those questions matter?

The only thing that gladdened her heart was meeting this man who claimed to be her father and she believed him. He hadn't averted his eyes from her teary and bemused eyes even for a moment as though he wanted to convey his sincerity to her.

" I'm sorry for all the years you spent alone," he broke the long silence as he perceived her questioning gaze.

Cassidy pulled the lady who was dressed in a sleek pair of black trousers and pink knitted cardigan in a warm embrace, almost reluctantly.

How amazing? Fate had been playing with her all along and later reunited her with her true family.

" What's your name, sister?"

" Stephanie."

" ...a beautiful name for a beautiful sister."

Stephanie's cheeks reddened.

All her life, she had been walking on her own... along the lonely road. She had symphonies to help her find her way through the dark.

It felt so good to be home. The feeling was incomparable. She had been lost in the dark.... so this was how it felt to be home.

This was how it felt to be accepted?

Khalid looked on with an indefinable gaze as the reunion of the family made him shade tears.

He hadn't known what it was like to have a family or become part of an indivisible family. All his life, he had been feeling unwanted.

But witnessing this made him hunger for one with the only person that made him better - the only person that did magic to him.

They were going to have Kat Valdez's ' marry me' together.

Cassidy had never seen forever (she had never seen forever in the wild.)

But now she was looking in its eyes.

He was her shelter - shelter from a broken paradise and she couldn't dream it any better if she tried.

True love was going to ring, church bells was going to ring too..... she needed a king for life.

Khalid and Cassidy knew it was the greatest feeling they would ever experience. Now was the time to change the narrative.... CASSIDY & LUCIAN!

Cassidy stood in front of the dressing mirror.

The make up artist did a thorough job. She was looking prettier than ever.

Her sea blue eyes seemed to radiate all over the brightly coloured room.

Her beautiful white gown had laces decorated with it.

The gown had a straight, long cut by its side which gave it a unique look.

The necklace on her neck extended to her cleavage which gave it a perfect fitting.

Her earrings were the same color with her necklace but had a sapphire in the middle which matched perfectly with her eyes.

Her shiny caramel hair was packed in a beautiful bun and was decorated with gleaming gemstones.

The gown gave her a perfect fit figure. The golden necklace matched her pale porcelain skin, giving her the look of a beauty goddess.

" I can tell that your husband to be will really not take his eyes off you once he sees the epitome of beauty that he's getting married to," Stephanie announced immediately she walked into the room.

Her violet eyes brimmed with determination.

" I couldn't even recognize you," she divulged and touched her face.

Cassidy blinked and turned her gaze away.

Her eyes became teary and she couldn't stop the tears from trickling down her beautifully endowed face.

" What's wrong?" Stephanie questioned.

Cassidy hissed.

" Don't you like it?" she questioned again.

" Stephanie, it's not that I don't like the fact that I'm getting married.... infact, I love it. But, I'm going to miss you and father. We've only met and this marriage is going to separate us."

Cassidy sobbed uncontrollably.

" Noooo... Cassy, you'll ruin your make up. Don't cry, please, else I'll cry too. Your marriage is good news... the best news I've heard in a long time, it isn't our separation because you are getting married to a good man who will still let me come to see you anytime I want."

Stephanie pulled Cassidy in closely for a warm, long embrace.

" Father won't want to see his damsel in tears," Stephanie said softly and stroked her sister's bun passionately.

" And besides, this will be the biggest wedding in June. It's your wedding and you have to be happy."

Cassidy gurgled softly.

" You don't want to become exhausted from crying... there's going to be the wedding consummation," Stephanie added.

Cassidy quickly pulled away from the embrace.

Her twin sister was actually too bold... bolder than she had thought... bolder than her elder sister.

How could she have enough courage to say that?

Her face seemed to get hotter as she fanned herself with her hands.

Stephanie chortled.

" Why are you suddenly hot?"

Cassidy bowed her head, plenty thoughts bounced.

She hadn't even thought about it yet but she suddenly felt a knot in her stomach.

Stephanie placed her hands on Cassidy's breathless body.

" I know you want to ask questions about it...go on."

" How do you know so much?"

Stephanie chuckled widely.

" I've some married friends... they tell me everything."

Cassidy's breathless face got hotter.

" Do you think he's going to take it easy on me?"

" I know your husband is a good man and I think he will. Just don't think too much about it.

" But, do not forget to keep me updated. I'll come to visit you after the wedding so you will tell me everything."

A blush crept on Cassidy's face.

" What have I missed all the times you were absent in my life? Stephanie, you're the world's best twin sister."

She embraced her tightly.

" Cassy, I'll go to check on the groom, and when I come back, we'll go to the wedding hall with father," Stephanie suggested after she pulled out of the hug.

Cassidy watched her sister in admiration as she plodded towards the door and out of the room.
