"....you just have to make her happy by being happy yourself, dear".
Julie felt there was no need interrupting their conversation and since Damien didn't really need her now she didn't have to interfere, so she walked away.
She got herself a seat and was given a glass of juice by a waiter. She took a sip and looked around, alternatively. Julie felt she wasn't supposed to be here. She knew no one wanted her here either, and with the very few people that got to know her, she could tell that she wasn't welcomed here. She took a sip again, then she placed it on the table and started gazing at the people that were having aconversations at another table.
A young man had just sat on the chair opposite where she was seated. He was ravishing and he wore a very striking cologne that had an irresistible strong scent. "Hey pretty", he said in a flirty manner. "Hi, I'm Taylor", he reached out his hand to hers for a handshake. Julie wore a reaction of indifference and just ignored.
He placed his hand on the table and he said leaning a bit closer, "You are really beautiful, you know?", he smirked when she gave no answer. "Sweetheart, don't you talk?", he inquired.
Julie looked at him boldly and finally said "I don't talk to strangers". "Neither are strangers allowed here", it took him no time to reply.
Then he asked persistent to know who she was "Who are you and how are you related to this family, beauty?". Julie was just about to mutter some words when a voice spoke "She's my girlfriend". Julie knew who it was already. Julie looked up to see him.
Damien, sat next to her with his eyes shooting daggers at Taylor. "Wow, really? how can I forget that you always have a very good taste when it comes to ladies", he said while smiling, roguishly. Julie just gave a casual glance at Taylor.
Damien placed his hand around her shoulder and he said to Taylor, "This table is actually meant for the two of us, we would like it, if you excuse us". Taylor's dejection was obvious. He stood up while looking at Damien despicably and he left.
Julie calmly took his hand off her shoulder. He didnt mind what she had just done, he just said to her while trying to feign a smile, "Julie dear, there are some people you aren't meant to be hanging with, they aren't worth your time, especially that guy. And there are some important people I still got to introduce to you". He stood up then he reached his hand towards her. She couldn't decline his offer since they weren't in a private place, after all. So she placed her hand on his while standing up.
