~Y/N's POV~
*BZZZ * BZZZ*
My phone kept buzzing when I woke up. I sat up and rubbed my eyes before reaching for my phone to see who was calling. My oddball It states My eyes widened as I looked at the time. "FUCK, WHAT TIME IS IT?" "Omg, you just woke me up!" I exclaimed. "I'm getting ready right now!" I said this as I jumped out of bed and ran around my room trying to get ready. "You're fine, we only have 5 hours before we have to leave," Quill said on the other end of the phone, and I sighed in relief. "Good, because I still need to shower!" "OK, let me know when you're done so I can get to your house." Quill sounded hesitant, as if he didn't want to go. "Are you all right, babe?" "You sound as if you don't want to go. I said it with concern and sadness in my voice. Sure, I'm fine. I was just thinking about something. " "Tell me what's on your mind." I inquired, and my ears perked up. "It is nothing. "I don't want to spoil your good mood," he stated. He now sounded as if he was sorry for saying something. So, promise me you'll tell me while we're waiting in line to get into the hall? If your mood remains unchanged, " He was quiet for a while. "Babe?" I admitted to being concerned. I'm still around. We can talk about it later, umm. "Please go take a shower, hun." He stated I was becoming increasingly concerned about him. "All right, I'll see you later," I said, "I love you, my jelly bean." "I love you too, babe," Quill said before hanging up. This is extremely unusual. And he was always competing with me to see who loved me more. But I shook it off and started getting into the shower.
When I got out of the shower, I texted Quill to let him know I was done. I changed into my clothes and sat for a few minutes. I ended up playing a song that I hadn't heard since middle school. I finished getting ready while listening to the song on repeat. Then there was a knock on my front door. When I went to open it, it was Quill. "Hello, baby!" I exclaimed as I hugged him tightly. "Hello, my love," he said with a smile. We entered my room so I could finish getting ready.
After I finished getting ready, we went to a restaurant for lunch. It was a sweet and simple "family" restaurant that primarily served breakfast and lunch. They had dinner, but it was a small selection given that some of the lunch items were also dinner items. The hostess seated us, and a waitress approached us almost immediately. Hello, my name is Vanessa, and I'll be your waitress for the afternoon. What can I get you both today to drink? " Our waitress inquired. "May I please have a Dr. Pepper?" I asked, smiling. "I'll get one too," Quill added. "I've got two Dr. Peppers on the way!" Vanessa said with a smile. I thanked her as she walked away. Quill and I perused the menu as one does. I noticed they had lemon rice soup. And it's one of the best soups you'll ever have. So that's what I went with. When I was finished, I put my menu down, and Quill did the same. "So, hun, what are you getting?" Quill inquired. "I'm going to get the lemon rice soup; how about you?" "I'm going to get some country fried steak with gravy," he said with a smile. I returned the smile. "That's really nice. I haven't had that since I was a child, "I said." "Neither have I. I just hope it's as good as I remember. But, in any case, " Is I looked at him and said, "So, how are you doing?" How is your day going? " He remembered what had happened earlier that day when he looked at me. "I-Uhh." I'm perfectly fine. I need to speak with you. Actually, About us... but first, I'd like to discuss... Vanessa, our waitress, returned with our drinks. "Here come your drinks!" she exclaimed. She appeared ecstatic. "Thank you," I said with a smile. "You're very welcome!" She exclaimed, her gaze falling to my shirt. She then exclaimed, "Are you attending Mark's tour?" I laughed. "I am, indeed. I'm very excited because my boyfriend is taking me! " Quill looked down when I pointed at him. "Actually-" Vanessa cut him off once more. "You're so fortunate!" I wish I could attend! " She said this while slightly jumping up and down. "What is your favorite series?" I inquired. "The Five Nights at Freddy's series," she explained. I exclaimed. "Me as well!" We both laughed. "Anyhow, are you both ready to order?" I nodded yes to answer her question. "OK, what can I get you?" "I'd like lemon rice soup," Quill ordered his food, as I turned my head. She left and entered our order after she finished writing it down.
Quill and I had forgotten what we were talking about before we were interrupted. We simply discussed the show we began watching. Then we talked about our family drama. and other strange things. We talked all the way to the venue where we were going to see Mark live. We just stood there in line.
After a few hours, we were in the middle of the line. We were moving very slowly. I looked at Quill, and he returned my gaze. He suddenly looked down, as if he remembered something. "Hey, Y/N," he said slowly and mournfully. "Are you sure, babe?" I said this while staring at him. "I need to talk to you... and I don't think you'll be happy with me," he explained. I had become extremely concerned. "What's the matter?" I inquired. "I have my ticket, but when I got home last night, I was thinking... that we should split up and meet new people. I'd like to request the return of your ticket so that I can obtain a refund," I looked at him in complete shock, rage, and sadness. I finally yelled at him. "I'D BEEN WAITING ALL DAY TO BE HERE! I was so excited, and you want to break my heart by breaking up with me and then taking my ticket away?! Are you KIDDING me?" My eyes welled up with tears. I turned around, moved out of the way of the line, and ran away from the building. Quill tried to catch up with me, but I was too fast. I couldn't see, but I kept pushing people away. I then begin to hear a deep male voice. "Hey, Hey!" I was aware of hands on my arms. I got down on my knees and covered my face with my hands. I simply sobbed. The man drew me in close, "It's OK! I'll take you inside to get you some water so you can take a breather. "As I was wiping my face, he helped me up. As we got inside, I was able to see a little better, so I looked around to see who had taken me inside. Mark was the one.
He let me into his dressing room and motioned for me to sit on the couch there. "Take a seat. I'll be right back with some water for you. Ok?" As I nodded, he looked at me. I was still crying, but I had calmed down somewhat.
I sat down and looked around, attempting to divert my attention away from what Quill had done. In the process, I was taking deep breaths and telling myself that everything was fine. Mark returned with a nice cold-water bottle, which he handed to me. "Here, have a drink, and if you're up for it, tell me what happened," Mark said, his face filled with sympathy and concern. I nodded and drank the water he had given me. I sat up, shut the water, and looked at Mark. Mark perked up, focused his attention, and listened intently. "I-Uhh, my boyfriend broke up with me and demanded the tickets he gave me on our date night a couple nights ago. He wanted to get a refund..." I looked down and began to cry once more. "What an asshole!" Mark was filled with rage. "How could a guy buy tickets for his girlfriend and then completely shut her down on the day of a concert tour thingy and ruin her entire day and hopes!!!" I shook my head. "I guess that's how most guys are now," I exhaled deeply. "Look, I can help you, and after the show tonight, I can take you back home with me because tonight is my last night, and I don't live far away. I don't want you to be alone at home tonight. Unless you are at ease at another friend or family member's home, "I raised my head and smiled slightly. "I don't have any close friends or friends who would welcome me to stay at their home. And I don't have any family in California. So, thank you very much." Mark gave me one of the best hugs I'd ever received. It was cozy and soothing. "What's your name?" Mark backed away and smiled. "My name is Y/N," I answered smiling back.
It was later, and the show had begun, and he was amusing everyone. I was laughing and smiling as well. "So, I have a special guest here today to assist me in singing a song. Y/N is her given name "Mark stated as he looked at me. My face turned bright red. "come on!" He spoke into the microphone and motioned for everyone to come to him. I slowly stood up and proceeded to staged. A microphone was handed to me by one of the stage managers. "Today's song is Shallow from the movie A Star Is Born," I said. I smiled and turned to face Mark. As Mark began to play the song, everyone applauded.
I closed my eyes briefly as he sang. When it was my turn, I just opened my eyes and sang my heart out. Everyone went crazy! I smiled, and then Mark and I started jamming together. We were singing to one another. I felt as if I were dreaming. I was overjoyed. Being able to do what I had always wanted to do. To Perform...
