It was a night of nothing but rain. I was working overtime at the job I absolutely hated being at because of my scummy boss. All he would do was nag at me for anything he possibly could and it annoyed me to the point where I nearly quit my job, but the job pays well especially for those who work overtime.

I finished all of my paperwork and turned them in to the boss. I set them on his desk and he looked at me. I glared at him then turned away and walked off.

"Ares." My boss called out to me.

I stopped walking and I turned around to look at him. I noticed a smile on his face and rose an eyebrow. "What is it..?"

"I'm hard on you for a reason, Ares. You are one of our best in corporate and I know the living situation for you has been difficult that's why I want to do this for you." My boss said then wrote down a check for $1,000. "It may not be much, but it should help you with something."

I walked to him and took the check out of his hand then looked at it. I looked back at my boss. "Why? After making me suffer for so long.."

"I know, but in the end it doesn't change the fact that you're one of the best. I want to turn over a new leaf and start over. Starting tomorrow, I'm promoting you to assistant boss of the corporation." My boss said then smiled.

I looked at him then closed my eyes. "I am grateful for your generosity and thankful that you finally see how much of an ass you've been."

My boss chuckled softly and stood up. "Go home, Ares. You've been here long enough."

I nodded then walked off and grabbed my umbrella from the umbrella holder then took the elevator to the first floor. Once the elevator stopped and the doors opened, I walked out of the elevator then left the building. I opened my umbrella and began to walk to my apartment.

I took out my phone and tried to call my girlfriend, but she wasn't picking up any of my calls. I assumed that she was asleep since it was pretty late. Working overtime has been stressful for us because since I'm always on the clock we haven't been able to spend time with one another. I can't even remember the last time we had sex because of overtime. I decided to shrug it off and continue on home.

I made it home and took out my keys then unlocked the door. I closed my umbrella and walked into my apartment. I took off my jacket and hung it up on the coatrack then walked to my bedroom. I opened the door and noticed my girlfriend in bed with another man. They both looked at me quickly and I just stared at them.

"Jenna..." I started.

"Ares! I-I can explain!" Jenna said then quickly sat up.

I looked her then looked at the man and glared. "I work overtime and get money so we can afford this expensive ass rent and this is how you repay me? Cheating on me with Aiden? My best fucking friend!"

"Yo man! Calm down, let her explain!" Aiden said.

"How about I explain how you died on the police autopsy you double crossing bastard." I said then walked into the room then pulled him out of the bed and punched his face.

Aiden groaned and fell to the floor and I mounted on top of him then began striking his face repeatedly, unwilling to stop out of pure anger and rage.

"Ares! Stop it!" Jenna yelled and got out of bed and tried to pull me off Aiden. "Stop it!"

I grunted and pushed Jenna off me then punched Aiden's face one last time then got off him. I got off him then threw my keys at Jenna then walked off in anger. "Fuck both of you. Three years down the fucking drain.."

"Ares wait!" Jenna cried out and ran after me then noticed the door being slammed closed.

I walked away from the apartment and didn't even bother grabbing my umbrella nor jacket. I walked down the street in the rain with my head held low. I was still seeping with anger that she would cheat on me. I could only imagine the reason she did.

My phone began ringing constantly and I looked at it then decided to answer it. "The fuck do you want..?"

"Please just listen! Let me explain!" Jenna begged on the phone.

"Explain what? You're gonna tell me that you were lonely because I worked overtime? Because I'm always home late? That doesn't fucking excuse you for cheating because while you're at home doing jack shit, I'm out there busting my fucking ass for us! I'm working my last nerve at the job I hate and this is the thanks I fucking get?! Fuck you and fuck that bastard of a friend.." I said then threw my phone at the ground and walked off.

I didn't even want to hear her voice anymore. I just kept walking and wondered what the next steps were. I couldn't even think straight and just kept walking without even paying attention then walked onto the street without looking. A speeding truck drive down the street and the last thing I heard was the blaring horn of the truck.

I laid there on the cold wet street and looked at the sky. The driver of the truck immediately got out and ran to me. A few people who noticed the incident walked over to the scene.

'What a way to go out...Truck-kun striking again and his target was me this time. I guess this was karma for beating the shit out of Aiden..? Heh...I don't even feel bad. At least I got payback before dying..' I thought to myself with a slight smirk on my face before closing my eyes and inevitably passing away.

"...Your Highness..."

"...Milord...!"

"...My King!"

"...What's the matter with you My King! Open your eyes!"

I heard their voices and opened my eyes then noticed I was in a royal meeting room. I blinked a couple of times. 'I'm not dead..? What the hell..? Where am I..?' I thought to myself.

"Your majesty!" A woman said and looked relieved that I opened my eyes.

The woman looked rather young and seemed to be the youngest out of all who were in the room currently. She had long pink hair, light pink eyes and a thin body. She wore a silver and blue armored top and a white and blue skirt with black thigh high socks and silver armored boots. She wore silver gauntlets and black gloves.

I looked at the others in the room as well. There was a man who seemed to look the oldest out of the bunch.

The man was a person with white hair and white facial hair. He wore ornate silver and gold armor with a brown belt around his waist. His red eyes shined as he looked at me with relief in his eyes. He carried a claymore inside of its scabbard around his waist. He had his arms crossed.

The third person I looked at was a woman with light blue hair and blue eyes. She wore a ninja's attire and carried a giant ninja scroll on her back. She seemed to be the same age as me.

"Your majesty, what's the matter? You look lost." The man said.

"Because I am. I don't know what's going on. I should be dead and yet I'm still alive.." I said and looked at my hands.

"Well, yes. The war that went down earlier was a cruel war and we were certain you were dead, but you were alive and we brought you here." The man said.

"Who are all of you..?" I asked.

"My name is General Felix, Your Majesty. I am the head General of the Kingdom of Luceros, this Kingdom." Felix said and looked at me.

"My name is Iris! Your foster sister! Your Father took me in and raised me as his own and I will always be in your bloodline's debt!" Iris said and bowed.

"My name is Yukari. Head spy of the kingdom." Yukari said, keeping her intro short and sweet.

"What's even going on..? I don't understand a thing." I said.

"Well to give a run down on the events, we lost a major war and now our kingdom is in a crisis. Our kingdom became the target of major kingdoms of the world and our world is quite large so that means we have a lot of enemies." Yukari explained.

"The fuck..? What did we even do?" I asked.

"You are the God-Emperor." Felix answered.

"A what..?" I looked at Felix.

"A God-Emperor, meaning you are amongst one of the strongest Rulers in the entire world. Many rulers have come together to defeat you and some have had help from actual deities to defeat our nation. In the end, your father and mother sacrificed their life to protect you and keep you alive. Yukari, Iris, and I have taken you to safety and we have to rebuild this nation and conquer what has been taken away from us." Felix explained.

"W-We lost many great soldiers and subordinates in our last battle against the Dark Lord of Idrisid and he even stole a great Family Relic! The Crown of Eternity and if we don't stop him, he would have enough power to destroy our entire world!" Iris said scared out of her mind.

"I see...but I still don't know what to do. This all feel very weird. Almost feels like I'm dreaming." I said.

"That's alright, we will get you back on your feet. We shall show you the ropes of being a God-Emperor." Felix smiled.

Iris and Yukari smiled at me as well then I looked at the three of them and closed my eyes and exhaled. It would seem I had no choice but to go on as the God-Emperor of Luceros and life this new life as a Ruler.

"Alright, I will do whatever I can to get back on my feet. So what's first?" I asked.

And this is where my Legend as the God-Emperor begins.
