Chapter 32 - A Proposal

CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO – A PROPOSAL

*******

× ... PRESENT …... ×

After the revelation about the Fifth Prince, Chester at first couldn't believe that Jules inherited his mother's affinity, and it was the late Lady Hanezza who sealed off the Fifth Prince's affinity for his safety.

However, the Young Marquis noticed the expression of doubt in Eugene's face when he revealed the Fifth Prince's situation to him and since he mastered reading other people's expression since young, Chester could tell that the Crown Prince had something off in his mind.

.....

...........

"Lady Hanezza didn't want Jules to participate in this battle of the succession for the throne and she only wanted Jules to live a life without him being tied up to the Royal family. That's why she sealed off his magic affinity the moment he was born."

Chester; 'That would be the safe choice if the late Lady Hanezza didn't want his only son to be involved in the messy affairs of the throne.'

But the Young Marquis had questions of his own regarding the late Lady Hanezza and the Fifth Prince.

"Eugene, do you know about the late Lady Hanezza's origins? According to the records that I found, her affinity, that sovereign affinity that she manifested when it revealed in the public, it cause a ruckus that even the Mystic Tower caught a wind about it and wanted to demand a custody for her…."

Eugene cut him off by continuing what he was about to say; "…... But the King, my father, intervene and immediately claimed the late Lady Hanezza because from what I heard from my royal mother, she was already pregnant that time."

Chester noticed how the Crown Prince seemed uncomfortable after he finished his statement that made him frown at him.

"Is there something on your mind? You can tell me if you wanted to."

After he said that, the Young Marquis saw the hesitation on the Crown Prince's expression and he gazed upon at the still unconscious Fifth Prince as if he is waiting for a sign for him to wake up but unfortunately, the sound of his breathing indicates that he is still asleep.

Eugene sighed; "I am not sure about what to say, but let's leave that for now."

Chester didn't pry on further since it looks like the Crown Prince didn't want to talk about it and he would just wait for him to open up, just like what he did about the Fifth Prince's situation.

"We should focus on training Jules' affinities on how to utilize them properly. The only problem we had is that we can't hire a teacher and it would be a risk if it leaks in the public about his re-awakened affinities.

Now, that's the problem that they need to deal with.

If he would suggest, Chester can teach Jules some basics in each element since he had Fire, Lightning, and Wind as his affinities, but Chester already had his hands full of responsibilities and it would lead to suspicion on everyone if he were to visit the Fifth Prince regularly.

As he think further of a solution, Chester suddenly think of one person who could teach the Fifth Prince and that one person who wouldn't betray the Crown Prince.

"Eugene, what do you think about—about my father? As you know, my father, MARQUIS DARWIN NICO BONAPARTE is the Headmaster of Hem Luxe Academy of Mages and he used to be a professor for Elemental Affinity Theory and not just that, he also had Lumiere Affinity, together with Frost and Lightning."

Void and Lumiere are the two ancient affinities that rarely manifested to someone and only a few people who would have one of these affinities with them.

In the Truman Empire, the only two people who had these ancient affinities with them were none other than Chester's father, Marquis Bonaparte and the late Lady Hanezza who aside from having the sovereign affinity, she got the Lumiere affinity as well.

When Chester said these words, the Crown Prince, Eugene, looked at him with a frown at first and then became anxious suddenly.

Eugene; "B-but… your father, Marquis Bonaparte, is on a neutral faction and if he gets in contact with Jules suddenly, what would the others think? It would be a risk if the other royal siblings would take notice of this. Besides, I already have you by my side and if they knew that, your father—"

Chester cut him off immediately as he explained; "My father would be the best option for this, Eugene. No one would dare to say anything about Jules if we make an excuse that he would study under my father's tutelage."

Eugene didn't know how to respond to that statement because that was one of the Marquis' crimes that was pinned on him in his previous life that led to their downfall!

Saying that using Jules as a puppet prince for them since they labeled his brother as a good-for-nothing and the nobles who are opposed to Marquis Bonaparte fabricated an elaborate scheme that would lead to their ruins!

'How can I explain this situation to Chester without me saying that I am a regressor?!'

While Eugene was thinking about everything, Chester noticed how anxious the Crown Prince was at his suggestion and he thought again carefully.

Sure, the Crown Prince was right to be anxious since it was his father who was in the neutral faction and whisking Jules under his tutelage and that would spark some conflicts between the Imperial and Aristocrat factions if they learned about this.

But there is no one that they can rely on and the only one that Chester could think of is his father since he never wanted to get involved in the messy affairs on the throne; 'My father gave me free-reign to decide on who I am going to support for this succession of the throne.'

As he thinks further and analyze the situation quickly, there was something that sparks in his thoughts, but he wasn't sure if the Crown Prince would accept this, and it might sound rather inappropriate.

"Hmmm…. Your Highness the Crown Prince. Would you let me voice out my thoughts regarding this matter and before that, this one would like to apologize in advance for what am I about to say."

When Chester called out to him, Eugene snaps from his thoughts, and noticed that Chester was speaking in a more respectful manner than he usually does when they were alone. This means that he has something to say that Eugene won't like, but as a rational person, he will try to understand.

Chester took a deep breath, and he looked at the Crown Prince with a stern expression.
