Ella POV
It took way longer than it should have to open the door to my room. Well, what used to be my room.
I undid the mask from my hair that had stayed in place all night, just as it should have. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to keep my identity a secret.
I glanced around the room and found a bag I could pack. Not that I had a lot of belongings to begin with, but the everyday supplies would tide me over until I found another safe place.
When I stumbled upon the mansion, I didn’t realize how much of an impact it would have on my life. It housed someone I could see myself spending the rest of my life with, along with two brothers I had always wanted in my lonely upbringing.
The mansion had become a place I could truly call home. If only it could have lasted longer.
