Yaleena's face was redder than a tomato and she was panting while clutching her body.
Directing her blooshot tear filled eyes at Mino she let out an enraged shout, "WHY YOU...!" but stopped all of a sudden.
Her gaze rested on the thing in his hand while her eyes widened.
"Wh-why do you h-have t-that..." she muttered in a shaky while feeling her own chest. But Mino wasn't going to wait.
He took out one of the makeshift dirt bags , held one end and made a throwing motion while not letting go of the end. The loose knot on the other end opened up due to the jerk and threw out its contents.
The forceful wind didn't wait and blew them right into Yaleena's face!
"Arrrrghhhh!!" Yaleena screamed, her eyes burning. Mino utilised this opening and made a run for it at once.
[Please please please please please Mino don't get caught don't get caught don't get caught don't get caught...]
Repeating the same words like a broken record, he ran at his all time highest speed, the tailwind boosting him.
Soon he reached the exit and found the first guard standing.
"QUICK! LET ME GO! MOM SAID TO RETURN HOME AS SOON AS I CAN! IT'S URGENT!"
Mino shouted like a madman. "O-okay!" The guard was flabbergasted by his crazed shout and quickly accepted his demand. As soon as the gate was opened, he dashed out of it like a caged bird finally managed to escape.
"Hahahahahah! I FUCKING DID IT!!!" Shouting at the top of his lungs with an ecstatic smile on his face, he continued his run. But his joy would be short lived.
*Jzzzzzzzzzzzzsssshhhhhhhh*
It started raining all of a sudden. The rain was unnatural, it didn't start with an initial drizzle. It started raining cats and dogs right off the bat! As the deafening sound hundreds of thousands of raindrops clattering on the ground assaulted his ears, Mino found the visibility had considerably decreased.
Drenched to the skin in a second, he smile in satisfaction as the rain served to decrease his chances of getting spotted. The scroll which was kept underneath his shirt didn't seem to get wet.
Sure of his success, Mino ran with a slower but steady pace and started heading towards the alleyway. As he was about to enter Night Alley, the only alley network entrance he clearly knew about, he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Huh...!" he touched the hand and found it to be rough and smooth at places, but soft.
The gears in his mind stopped turning. Why? Because he knew whom exactly it belonged to! His face turned into one of panic as he felt his back sweating, crystal clear even though it was raining torrentially. Turning his head around, he saw a person he didn't want to see at all.
The inky blue haired girl. For some reason, her beautiful eyes of the same colour were glowing, but they were red around the edges (whose reason Mino knew of course). He felt the same strange sensation he had when he was so-called 'healed' by Barn.
[Shit, I'm doomed!]
Staring at the figure of the boy with sooty black hair, Yaleena said with a look of apprehension on her face, "Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. Those scum forced you to get the scroll right? Give it to me, I'll try my best to protect you." She held out her hand to him.
Mino, upon hearing this, was extremely surprised, but the promising words made him start having second thoughts.
[Maybe I should give it to her, I think she might be able to protect me.]
He was confused as hell, he didn't know what to do, especially when the thing at stake was his own life.
[What if this girl is secretly plotting revenge against me... I mean... I didn't hold back when searching her...]
His face turned red when that scene played out in his mind. Yaleena didn't miss that gesture. She ruefully smiled and said, "Well, it's certainly true that I'm displeased. But now that I know the cause, I understand that you didn't do it with any perverted intentions. Now, if you may,"
She smiled softly, giving off vibes of gentleness. Mino shoved his hand inside his shirt to take the scroll out. Just as he was going to fish the scroll out...
*BAAAAAAMMM!!*
"Eh?!"
Yaleena snorted stupidly. The boy who was standing in front of her disappeared and a loud sound was heard, resembling something crashing into a wall. Taking a sidelong glance, she inhaled sharply.
"Ugh...aaaaahhhhh....haa..huuu..bleh!" Mino was lying against the wall, breathing painfully. He coughed out blood too! The portion of the wall he was lying near was badly damaged, indicating a violent collision had taken place just then.
Instantly summoning multiple layers of water barriers, she took out a vial and an estoc from her spatial storage.
"Haaaahahahahhahahahhh! That is futile! Throw your weapons down!!!!"
The hysterical laughter which entered her ears instantly explained the whole situation to her.
"Malay! I'm your fucking enemy! You are heartless enough to touch civilians?!!"
"Hihihihihihi!! Seems like I've been caught!"
A young woman with auburn hair and a crazed grin plastered on her face was floating in the sky. Her figure was unclear due to the heavy rain. She was flitting around joyfully.
The raindrops weren't touching her but were bring repelled by a force field of sorts. After coming to a stop, she cracked a smile and theatrically spread her voice out.
"Well, by all means, please look to your right!"
[She is trying to distract me...I won't allow myself to be misguided by my enemy.]
"Shut up you bitch! I am stronger from last time!" Yaleena shouted as she wrapped her estoc in super compressed water.
Malay's grin widened, literally spreading from one ear to the other. She looked horrifying. As her eyes glowed in a shade of gold, she said,
"Didn't I make myself clear? Look. To. Your. Right."
*SLAM!*
"Arrrrgghhh!! Aaaahh! Ergh...ah..ahem!" A slamming sound, followed by pained sounds of a person struggling to breathe.
Not letting her guard down one bit, Yaleena moved her eyes a little bit. Mino was lifted into the air and was being choked painfully with a hand made out of water. His face was blue, it was clear he would die of hypoxia soon.
