Noah and Smith were on the first floor of the Dungeon. The creatures here were mere slimes and Noah began to kill them. A slime can't be killed except by damaging its core. So to kill them Noah had to break their core. The old man was watching him and was pleasantly surprised. For the past one year he's been with Noah, he has only told him to slash, parry and thrust thousands of times. But now Noah would have to slash or thrust at the cores directly and accurately to kill the slimes.
As the old man watched Noah's movement he was kind of disgusted. So much wasted movement leading to Noah lacking efficiency. So he decided that destroying slime cores which are small is the perfect. So he left Noah and Smith after creating a illusion that made Smith to seem invisible ignored by the slimes. Noah was unaware as he was busy trying to quickly clear the floor. He went straight to the Dungeon core. The Dungeon at first was ready for its defensive measured after sensing the power of a Saint from the old man but was stopped as the old man began communicating with it.
The old man made a deal with the Dungeon. The Dungeon makes more slimes appear on the first floor enough to put a lot pressure on Noah and use mana to sustain his life for a week while he would go bring a dead Saint sea monster. If the Dungeon extract the mana from a Saint. It'd level up for sure. It was a good bargain so from then on it started to pressure Noah. So that's how Noah who thought slimes were easy became scared. There was so much he had to kill them once or he'd be burnt. Slimes only way to fight was to secrete a weak acid. This acid cannot kill but it's very painful. For fear of this pain. Noah began to become more efficient. The slimes gave him enough pressure to improve not too much that he'd get used to pain. Dungeons are far smarter than they give them credit for.
Smith was mesmerized by the swordsmanship of Noah by then end of the week. He began fantasizing himself using the sword to kill the sleeve traders who captured him. Imagining himself a master of the sword. He began to feel that maybe following his master wasn't bad. If he could become a swordsmans that would be gratifying. Noah didn't know all this but instead was focused on the slimes infront of him. Everything was so strange. For this week the old man hasn't said anything to him. He audio refused to answer Noah's question. So Noah calmed down and continued killing the slimes. He inferred that this must be he old man's training made him focus on it wholeheartedly. He slowly forgot about time as the Only thing he could see and think about was killing. He just kept going on and on. He noticed that his strength was still the same and finally knew it was the old man doing. Slowly he became better, faster and more precise.
When the old man came he was gratified. He was happy to see that Noah has entered a wondrous state which a lot of prople might not be able to enter in their lives. Where he would receive enlightenment and become better at what he is doing faster. This made him get better at what he was doing faster and faster. His efficiency, his precision, his speed at which he killed became better and better. The Old man easily inferred that this was caused by pressure Noah was receiving. This was because of the fact that the only thing Noah could see and do was slimes and kill.
He couldn't even think of anything as the pressure on him was so great that a moment of distraction was enough for the slimes to swarm him and bring him unbearable pain. He might even die. This forced him to enter a comprehensive state where all he could think about was way to kill better, way to swing the sword faster, way to increase the efficiency of his killing. He had to be a better version is himself in a few minutes or the pressure would kill him. This made the old man feel like the top level Saint shark he had to trap and kill as he was still weak was worth it. It also made him know why Dungeons were almost impossible to catch. Their terrifying calculative ability was going to make them successful Delay even a Saint. He paid his dues and decided to wait for two months. The Dungeon couldn't be bothered as time were mere numbers to it. It started extracting everything from the shack. In a week he would have finished but to refine that man's he would need at least 6 years before it could be complete and Level Up To A mid tier dungeon tier 8. This was because the mana contained in the Saint monster was immense.
Noah had been killing for two months now. Smith was still watching the swordsmanship of his master with reverence. Now it looked like a dance. This was to show that Noah had touched upon the man and sword as one realm. The old man felt it would be a waste to only learn to kill slimes and went to meet the Dungeon. He asked the Dungeon to seamless carry Noah to the next floor without reducing the pressure. This was done quickly as Noah found himself see new creatures. He couldn't think properly as the pressure was too great. He had to start killing. First he had to discover their weak points. This only took 20 minutes for Noah before he knew where to thrust and where to slash. He began killing the poisonous fang wolves a terrifying speed as they had so many weak points compared to slimes who only die when their core are destroyed. This continued for a week before the old man decided to stop.
