It has been two straight weeks of overtime at work and this meant that Beauty and I have had more than enough time to get along with each other. We have had lunch on several occasions and funny enough, she is on my team for this new case and this makes my work less burdensome. I really have been happy in these recent weeks and mum considers this as a great improvement.
It is Friday and mum has instructed me to invite Beauty over to our house for dinner. It really is going to be sort of weird, because I have tried my best to initiate only official discussions. I really need that boldness; I will work it out anyways. At the end of work that day, I went to her office and met her eating cake and having a drink. I knocked and she asked me to come in not knowing that it was me. As soon as I entered, she inadvertently spat out the drink that was in her mouth. She was surprised to see me in her office, because I have never been there. Upon seeing thios scene unfold, I gained impetus and asked her if she was free to come over for dinner at my place in the night. She was shocked and could not give a speedy response, she nodded her head slightly and put up a radiant smile and said yes.
I left her and went to my car with a smile on my cheeks too. How quick is it to gaze and smile than to think and be sullen. When I arrived at home, I told mum that Beauty had agreed to come over and she replied by saying that she knew that Beauty could never turn me down. I left her sight with a smile and set my alarm to 6.45 pm because I needed to take a nap.
I woke up at 6. 25 pm and thought of what to wear. I did not know whether to wear a suit or a t-shirt. I was utterly confused and I decided to look casual. I put on a long-sleeved round neck and a jean and stayed on the couch surfing the internet on how to welcome a female guest for dinner. Most of what I saw was romantic ways to start a dinner. I was tired of reading this, so I just decided to play soft music and relieve myself of the tension.
It was few minutes past seven and I heard the doorbell sound, I went to the door and opened it. I was in awe; profoundly dumbfounded and I stood there just gazing at her imperial glamour. It took my mum's intervention to get my eyes off her, because she asked me to let the guest in. I told Beauty without thinking twice, that she looked so pretty. Her hair was down to her back and her fragrance permeated the house. She took my hand and smiled to the dining table. My mum was so happy to see me smile and see us together. Beauty and my mum exchanged pleasantries; you know that woman to woman stuff.
We had dinner silently and I just could not take my eyes off Beauty. She was more than her name even suggested. I smiled slightly and frequently, we exchanged eye contact. After dinner, mum excused us and we moved to the sitting room and I did not know what to say and I guess she noticed this. So, she started the conversation by saying that she had a great dinner and that I must be enjoying, feeding on this rich and sumptuous meals daily. I smiled as a response. Now was the time, she told me that she was surprised to see me in her office and even more surprised that I invited her for dinner. I replied her saying that it was nothing and that it was more of my mum's plan. We talked for hours without knowing that time was passing away. Occasionally, we laughed and her broad smile filled my eye balls.
It was getting late; I mean it was already late. She told me that she would have loved to talk more but she has to go. I escorted her to her car and when we got there, I really don't know how it happened or when it did, but somehow, our eyes gazed at each other and we kissed. It was like I was seeing a romantic movie. For seconds, we were witnessing our lips synchronize and after, she hugged me tightly and left. I suddenly became too dumb to even say anything, even the slightest word, "bye". She drove away and this blush was on my two cheeks. I tried to use my hand to rub it off before I entered my house but it was just unsuccessful.
