Chapter 78 - You're Awake

As their lips were about to touch, old sage called out to her. She looked at the door where he stood gaping at her not believing what she intended to do.

She stood upright, slowly shifting her gaze on Alvah to her Grandpa who had been waiting for her response.

"Come with me". He said without looking back at her. She quietly followed afterward. It was evening and so their faces weren't as clear.

When she got outside, he was seated on a wooden bench. He patted beside him, indicating for her to take a seat which she did.

She sat a few distance away from him just to feel safe. He sighed and moved closer to her and held her hand which was about to burn up the bench.

"Relax, I understand". He spoke softly.

"I promise that was the first time, I never had such intentions, I just..." " Can't resist the desire to be closer to him", he relieved her of saying the words she couldn't.

"Yes..." she couldn't deny it anymore. She had to tell someone how she felt, and who else if not her Grandpa.

"You think I didn't know" . She looked at him instantly not believing what he just said. "You knew, all along". she was blown away

" Took you long enough to realize it". He said to her.

" Grandpa, I'm new to this, I need help". She help his hands even tighter.

" Don't you worry, I will take care of him for you. If only you understood earlier the reason why I called you here, you might have established something between the both of you by now". He moaned

'I knew it'. Her doubt is cleared. "I knew you brought me here to be his teacher because you wanted me to observe him and get to know him".

" But you acted too rashly and here you are, sneaking to...". " That's okay". she interrupted.

" It's not right of you to do that. Not when he is unconscious at least". He scolded.

" I don't want to lose him when I don't even have him. I need him in my life". She spoke in a low tone, with a hint of regret in her voice.

He looked at her with concern, "You're naive.

Don't talk like an obsessed one now, if you love him and want him, I have been and am here to convince him for you. You aren't in his good books right now so I expect an expression that I can't tell".

" Who would believe that you were fighting with him months back, and here you are confessing your love for him to me. So tell me...".

" Mmh" .... what did he have to ask

" What led to this sudden love awakening?" .

" Grandpa" she never believed this side of him. She said his name to end his little gossip.

"Ha....ha". He laughed at her. "Silly girl. If you were like this years back, I promise I would have gotten you married by now".

" But the one thing I can't believe is that you are in love with an Infernal, of all creatures". Truly, she couldn't find love with her fellow peer.

"I told you grandpa, you never know where I will get married from". She alarmed him.

" You need to rest now, stop worrying about Alvah he will be okay, you go to bed".

He was done speaking when she tilted her head to the side only to see him looking at the stars. A part of her felt pity for keeping him this long without a great grand child, while the other was happy that she could finally see him smile.

She hugged him by the arm when she heard a sudden laughter. Her eyes opened up looking at him and he said to her, "You'll be Okay".

She grinned. "I'll be off". she stood up and left to the room, Alvah's room.

When she got there, she could only but smile at the fact that he was going to be okay. She walked to him and laid beside him. Dressing his hair and face. She rested her head on his chest and slept off.

Old sage walked in and turned off the lights, smiling at the both of them. A slight frown showed on his face, but he quickly shook it off. He closed the door slowly and left.

....

"Zillah, Uncle, Keva. I... feel drow...sy and..." His eyes slowly opening up to see the world before him but he saw a girl laying on his chest.

"Zillah!" he called. " No" He quickly doubted that it was Zillah, the girl on his chest didn't have blonde hair. Although he was feeble, he was able to move her over.

"Vida!" . She was finally clear in sight. 'Why...' he stopped his thoughts abruptly not wanting to guess. He stood up looking around the room as it's been two weeks since he was unconscious.

He staggered before adjusting himself, he pulled her closer, placing her in a more comfortable position before leaving the room.

He had washed his face before leaving the room to reduce the blurriness and fatigue he felt.

He opened the door and closed it. The heat he felt was intense, he walked out to take in the night breeze. When he opened the door, he saw old sage seated with his head down.

It was already past two when he woke up. He walked up to him and patted him. He snorted before asking, "who are you?"

Alvah looked around not believing it was him old sage was referring to. He called, "Old sage"

"Old sage?" , how does this person know that name. "You..." he stood up vividly taking a good look at the person. "But how?".

"Old sage, you don't remember me. Has your brain really gone bad". He asked teasingly

" No.... Sorry.... You are Alvah".

"No, I'm Vida". Was Alvah's response to him with a slight grin. "Alvah". he called out his name with all the love he had for him.

"You're awake, you're finally awake".
