Old sage took off Alvah's shirt and put on him a sleeveless black shirt.
When he came out of the room, he saw her idly standing, waiting for him.
"You can go in now" . This broke off her thought. " Don't be worried because he isn't up from bed yet or because he is smoking". He looked at Alvah on the bed.
Her brows creased, she looked into the room. "Yes you can say he is smoking, he said tilting his neck but we can't see a fire.... YET".
She had a look of dismay, " Okay". She nodded wisely. "Go in" . He reminded her. She discoursed, "Is Grandpa.... Grandpa are you?".
"What is it" not giving her a chance to express. He asked as if ignorant of what she is referring to. "Nothing, I'll go watch over him".
She entered the room and closed the door slowly, waiting to see what old sage would do. With the little sight that she had of him before the door closed, she saw a smile on his face.
' huhn, Is he smiling', she thought.
It was night. After a week and six days, Alvah hadn't woken up. She sighed heavily and relaxed a bit more on the couch, looking at him.
"Why weren't you in this condition the first day we met. That way, I would have fallen for you a long time ago. I bet now I'm in your bad books". She conversed with Alvah although he had no listening ear.
'Alvah'. She smiled at the thought of his name. She stood up and walked to him.
She sat on the bed and with the unconscious smile on her face, she traced her fingers on his face before cupping It with her palm.
Her heart raced as she had never done this to anyone before and with Soo much feelings and emotion. "I..."
She sighed. She pulled her legs closer to her chest, as she rested her face there, looking at him.
Her eyes slowly raked the body on the bed.
'You will be surprised if something bothered you for soo long, someone actually existed to help you. And that person will make it seem like it was never a problem'.
His words echoed every time in her mind.
"He's right, but you probably never thought that you were the one to help me Alvah".
" You had offered once and I rejected you, but I will accept you this time wholeheartedly".
She stood up from the bed headed for the couch, there she crashed like an empty can.
She thought for some minutes before she slept off.
.....
"Vida, Vida" . Old sage patted her shoulder. She woke up but her eyes were sealed. She answered, "I'm awake" .
"C'mon let's go have breakfast, you must be exhausted".
" I'm not, and I don't want to eat anything". Although she refused to give up but her health was betraying her. Watching over someone for two weeks straight without eating properly surely affected her.
Don't be so stubborn Vida, you have to eat something, at least breakfast". He urged.
" I said I'm not hungry". Her voice sure would have been loud but she had lost it.
"You are..." before he could go further, she blurted out her mind. "You said he was going to wake up soon, soon.... hmm. He looks like he's in a coma". She spoke dizzily.
" And he will eventually wake up" . Her raging lazy eyes looked at him. " A lot of people don't wake up from coma for years, but he will". He assured her
She had enough of him, " What's wrong with you?" . Sometimes she wonders where he gets his positivity from and without doubt, he's passed it on to her brother.
" I understand that you care for Alvah and you just realized that now but what about the ones he know, his family. What do you think, they are alright and not worried about him? ".
" He's a grown up, they can't worry about him that much". He focused his gaze on the child talking. " I.... called you for breakfast".
" I'll be there". She replied hastily. She doesn't like to be on that side of her Grandpa. She pours out her anger on everyone but they all have limits which she doesn't dare.
She took off to her room to freshen up and go have her breakfast. When she was done, she had her breakfast with old sage and went back to Alvah's room.
If she had a smile on her face while eating, then she lied to herself and old sage because she was really sad.
It was really hard for her to admit her feelings for Alvah and now that she realized it he was unconscious. She placed her head on Alvah's chest and slept there with tears racing from her eyes down to his shirt.
She never believed that she would end up falling in love with an infernal. For the times the infernals had contact with the Fire district, she never saw any of them, or wanted to do anything with them.
When her parents died, Killian, her brother took over. He would invite her sometimes but she would refuse.
She ended up crying till she fell asleep and her eyes were swollen. When she woke up, her eyes were red and heavy.
She walked into the bathroom to wash her face before old sage would see her in that condition.
When she came out, she walked to the bed and leaned closer to Alvah's face, staring into his eyes although they were closed. Her face was inches away from his like she had been tempted for times now and today she would fail.
With the drops of water falling onto his face She closed her eyes giving up the repulsion to kiss him on the lips. Letting her emotions get the best of her.
