"I hope he is okay" . Vida was deep in thought. 'I was supposed to spend this week with him. Ahhh!', she patted her head softly but stopped abruptly.
"What am I going to do for the time being?" Her presence here was because of him and if he was unconscious, she is an idle vessel.
She stayed in her room from morning till eve. Consecutively checking up on Alvah to see if he's okay but there was no sign of him waking up.
In the evening she ought to have dinner with her grandfather. They were both silent till they departed to their rooms to sleep.
She checked up on Alvah once again. This time his brows creased. She wondered if he was fighting someone in his unconscious mind.
She supposed, 'Should I stay with him?'.
"Vida" . Her grandpa called, she turned towards the door and saw him already inside the room.
"Why are you here?" she asked him wondering. "Nothing, I just wanted to see if he is okay". He responded in a light manner.
" Oh..okay" she replied indifferently. For all the times she had been checking up on Alvah, that did not escape her grandpa. He knew her intentions, although she kept denying it.
"Let's go to bed now" he declared to her.
"Mmmh", she nodded taking a last look at him before exiting the room.
Four days passed away and she was even more restless than before.
"Just because it takes a week for him to recover doesn't mean it actually has to be a week". she was becoming impatient with his recovery.
She went to Alvah's room as this was becoming her routine unknown to her. This time she walked closer to his bed side with her eyes locked on him.
Her hand slowly moved to his face where she placed her hand on his forehead. He was burning up even more than before. She grunted
"Is this normal?" . She was about to go to grandpa to tell him about Alvah's current condition when her hand slid past his fingers that lay lifeless.
Her heart skipped a beat. She slowly turned around and looked at Alvah.
'Had he been with me all this while and I never felt this way towards him except now'. She thought within herself when she saw her hand tracing his face from his hair down to his chin and she couldn't withdraw.
She sat on the bed cupping his face with her palm. "You will be okay" . She patted his shoulder and stood up briskly.
She met with Old sage at the door.
"Greetings grandpa" . He gave her a smile that warmed her and pecked her forehead. He could finally express the love he had for her after such a long time.
"You were with Alvah" . He said using his chin to indicate. She grinned. "I check up on him everyday".
That came out wrong and she realized it when she had already blurted. He laughed at her. He knew all along that she had feelings for Alvah maybe she was just too shy or she did not yet realize it.
" I mean... I check up on him every... some days, sometimes, grandpa I'm hungry". she couldn't come up with any lie at the moment.
He laughed out loud. The look on his face gave her a heart ache. She couldn't see her grandpa happy because of Quilan. She would stop at nothing to get back at him.
"Breakfast is ready, let's go eat". He hung his hand over her shoulders and walked with her towards the dining room.
One week and two days later, Alvah had still not woken up.
When she entered the room, he was in the same position as he was for the numerous times that she visited.
The old sage walked in looking worried.
"Grandpa why isn't Alvah waking up. It's been more than a week" she felt a plague in her chest.
" Patience child. He'll be okay, Infact he is alright". He spoke indisputably.
She was dumbfounded,
" How can you say that, he literally isn't moving, he's been in this condition for a while now and you said he would be up in a week". She quoted.
" I told you he is a complicated subject, it might take a while for him to recover. You know, he's an infernal Soo..."
" Infernal?! she scoffed. Alvah doesn't act like an infernal".
" And that's because the influence on him was great enough to only tame him nothing more than that. And it seems to me that he as
well influenced the one who influenced him".
" All is complicated but we can shake it off and have some rest till he one day wakes up, okay!!" He asked to settle her fret.
" Let's go!" He led her out.
The next day Vida was seen in Alvah's room this time on the couch. She decided to stay with him rather than coming concurrently. She had all her meals there and slept there.
On a particular day, she walked to him looking at him intensely when she felt a sudden heat.
His surroundings were hot. She touched his clothes, they could be torn apart with a light force.
She sat on the bed and pulled down the sleeveless jacket. He had the turtle neck shirt on so she intended to take it off and open the window opposite his bed.
She pulled down the zip slowly as she could already see what was hidden.
She gazed at his perfect slender and lean muscular body. His chest heaved up and down slowly as he wasn't doing well.
She pulled off the Jacket when she was about to take off the turtle neck shirt she heard her name.
She swiftly looked at the door when she saw old sage. "Grandpa I..."
" I'll help you take off his clothes. You should have told me that his temperature is high".
He walked to the bed and she stood up for him to take a seat. He held Alvah's arm when he stopped his action.
He looked at her and she looked at him. "Why are you still here?" he asked with a confused look.
'Am I supposed to leave'. shortly after asking herself
"Sorry I'll leave". The corner of his lips tugged up, why is she being polite. He nodded lightly.
