Chapter 57 - Anger issues

After the intense lack of sleep. She laid down beside Alvah, still keeping a distance, but she held unto the tip of his middle finger to at least have contact with him.

In the middle of the night, she was deep in her sleep when Alvah shook his fingers.

Slowly opening his eyes, Zillah was the first thing and person he saw, he grinned at her.

His eyes were fully opened, he intended to get up when he heard a voice.

"You're awake".

He turned his neck to see who it was. " Uncle" he called out.

"Alvah". The tone of his voice sold him out. He had really missed him.

He stood up slowly, walking to his uncle, he hugged him.

"How're you feeling now"... Ghazan asked after the hug.

He replied, " I'm feeling weak ".

" You should, your body went through a lot since you got back from the evaluation".

"She made it",

Alvah said pointing at Zillah. Ghazan smiled.

Alvah asked curiously, " Has she been here ".

" You see, this Zillah, she's whom I've always wanted to be as my daughter. She searched for you since she came back. She even drowned herself when she found none of us".

"She thought you were dead and I was gone. Until I called out to her, she quickly came up from the water and called for me".

"I can't even imagine the stress she went through including the fact that she had no powers".

" You've kept your promise of keeping her alive. But the third evaluation, isn't it supposed to be a dream, why was it real, Or perhaps, it was never a dream".

Ghazan said

"I'm not sure". Alvah replied

"Zillah told me everything that had happened". Ghazan explained how he knew.

After a short period of silence Alvah said to Ghazan

"Uncle I've lost my powers".

Ghazan looked at him.

" There was this girl". he began explaining, when Ghazan said,

"your powers have been restored, It sure was taken, but it's back".

With the amount of weakness he felt right now, he doubted what Ghazan told him.

"Sit down". Ghazan ordered.

They both sat down, and Ghazan explained everything to Alvah.

He then said, " You are the soul of celestial ".

Alvah never thought that Ghazan wasn't aware. " Yes". He answered.

Ghazan smiled, " you're special".

He asked,

"How did you manage to appear with Zillah in the third evaluation".

He began, " A certain day, everything felt okay and fine. I... didn't like it, it felt suspicious, so I went to go check up on Zillah".

" When I got there, she wasn't there. There I passed out and woke up in a forest".

"It was like her room was a portal, but I'm certain this is not the evaluation the rest of the mates went through, I feel like they've changed it for some reason".

"Okay". Ghazan nodded.

Alvah spoke. " Zillah, her name is..."

"I knew you'd think that". Ghazan interrupted.

Alvah smiled and said, " do you think it's because of her name, I actually had access?".

"Her name is a meaning though". Ghazan said.

"My shadow went missing", he said grinning.

They laughed a short laugh.

" Uncle I've been meaning to ask, how did you meet Zillah".

Ghazan looked at the lying figure,

"Zillah is one of a kind. I was actually forced to know who she was".

" She possessed only but five percent of my powers but she wanted to perform a skill of ninety percent.

When someone is that hardworking and willing, because she did it constantly, not everyday, I was triggered, so I came down and in the form of a ghost. She told me she wanted to be stronger and defend for herself".

" I asked if she was desperate, she said No. I knew she felt useless, I had to do something for her ".

" I first of all had to enquire more about her and she was genuine. I exposed my identity to her, she was quite happy.

And I was..., why shouldn't I give her my powers".

" After a few test and training, she still couldn't make it, so I gave it to her as a gift because she was worthy".

It sounded Interesting to him. "You were able to change your form, how did you do that". he enquired.

" I studied and mastered the skill of transmogrification. I guess it's more useful after death".

" Alvah, for how long have you possessed part of your dad's power".

" I was born with it, otherwise dad would have been affected. I don't ever get to the point of using his power. How did you know?".

" Well, seeing that the vessel cracked, I know very well an Empyreals power is involved and I could sense my brothers aura".

"It's that fifty percent part in you that's pure. Your beast are still intact"... He asked.

"Yes".

"She's injured, you should attend to her". Ghazan said lifting his chin towards Zillah.

Alvah looked at her. Worse of all, she had to lay on the bleeding arm to be able to hold his finger.

He lifted her up and rested her on his chest, Leaning on the tree behind.

"Who was it?"..., Alvah asked.

"Why do you want to know?"... Ghazan asked. "Don't do anything to him".

" I never said I was going to do anything to him. But I know it's the lion, he's got anger issues".

"Your anger issues"., Ghazan corrected.

" The wound's pretty deep, he placed his palm on her arm and began healing her".

"Alvah".

"Yes". he answered.

Should I tell him, Ghazan questioned himself. "Nothing"

Alvah spoke first, " Uncle something happened in the evaluation".

Ghazan wondered what could have happened.

" At first it was a feeling, but without doubt, I've lost my link with Zillah".

" That was the exact thing I wanted to ask you just now"... Ghazan revealed.

"How is that possible". Alvah asked confused.

"I thought the link is permanent, how could this happen?".

"What exactly happened?". Ghazan asked.

"Zillah had passed out and a guy with the possession of air took her away from there. I was injured and so was she".

" When he took her, everything was fine, until I felt a part of me left, like a stab in my chest".

"And when I saw her, despite your condition, she was perfectly fine". Ghazan related.

"Why is this happening". He asked Ghazan, getting up from the grass.

" How will I know when she's down in health or in trouble, how will I be able to teleport to where she is exactly?."

" How will I feel her pain, what's the point of the bond if the link isn't there". He sounded frustrated, stressed and angered.

"Alvah!!". Ghazan shouted. His eyes had turned red.

" The link is as important as the bond, but trust me, if the bond isn't there you would never be bound together".
