"Where did you go this time?", a girl walked into the room asking adalyn.
"You won't believe it, I met this guy"...she was cut short, trying to explain herself.
" I'm starting to think you want to get married before me Adalyn ". Adalyn laughed uncontrollably, " that's not possible ", she was precise, " You are older".
" How are you even more safer on the streets than me, you fish". She calls her sister names but jokingly. They both have their way of making each other smile.
Adalyn continued to laugh. The girl sighed and walked out of the room leaving her to keep laughing.
"Wait!", adalyn shouted before going after her.
....
Alvah watched the village from the highlands where he rested. He laid down staring into the night sky till he fell asleep.
Waking up in the morning, he left to resume what he had come for.
Walking through the village, with everyone wandering who he was, he ignored a lot of stare, this caused him to drift away into a lone street.
He met some children playing around, but it didn't seem like they were playing anymore as they were harassing an old man.
The man looked like he was blind. He had bought something to take home and the children kept turning him in circles, tossing it above him.
One of the boys picked up a stone and threw it at the old man, the old man had crouched down to put on his sandal which had removed due to unsteady steps.
The stone flew above him and landed by the side tracks.
Alvah watched for a while what they kids were doing and he had it. The last time the kids threw the old mans belongings above his head, Alvah caught it.
"I'll take it", he said nicely. " Hey!", one of the little boy shouted. Alvah spared him a glance.
"Who do you think you are?", he shouted with his kid voice. He ran to Alvah to give him a punch him in the abdomen.
Alvah held his hand and pushed him back lightly but the boy flew meters back landing on the ground, his friends ran to help him up.
He gave Alvah a furious look. "You're wasted". Alvah said to the little boy on the ground.
The look on his face swiftly changed to that of a sad one with tears in his eyes as he had bruised himself when he had fallen. And that Alvah's words hurts.
Alvah scoffed and left with the old man.
" How do you know your way home?", he asked the old man giving him a side look. The old man laughed at Alvah words still moving forward.
Alvah didn't want to conclude that the old man was acting weird do he stayed mute. They got to a small house that was quite compatible, Alvah led him in.
"I'm okay", the old man said to him releasing from his hold and walking in slowly.
They got into the house, the old man headed straight to the kitchen. He had already prepared some food so he stretched his arm up to the shelf to get a plate.
Alvah sat on the dining chair, watching the actions of the old man carefully and with a crease on his face.
He got the plate, walking slowly. He approached the stove, lifting the pot, he walked even slower to the table.
He dishes out his food, asking Alvah if he wanted some. He rejected the food.
He walked to the shelf once again, this time to get a cup, he held the cup but with a loose grip. As he pulled it out, another cup fell directly beside his feet.
He shivered a bit, looking down at the cup. "Why don't you help me?", he requested of him, looking in the wrong direction.
Alvah stood up, picked up the cup from the floor, got the water for him, infact he set his lunch for him.
The old man sat slowly, beginning to eat the food.
There were six dining chairs, Alvah who was on the other end walked and sat down beside the man, staring intensely at him.
He stood up to get his own cup of water. After getting it, he sat down quietly. When he was done taking a sip, the old man was about to drink some water when Alvah spoke softly with retarded words.
" Excessive carefully, silly mistakes, sluggish actions" he smirked, "Go first".
He gulped the water down before speaking.
" You're not normal to begin with", the old man looked him in the eye.
"My name is Alvah". " Everyone has concluded that I'm blind, but you easily spotted me out", he diverted his gaze from him.
" You deliberately let go of the grip of your sandal to evade the hit from the stone".
"Correct". The old man didn't deny it. "Why do you choose this life?", he asked the old man.
" Everyone have their own way of enjoying freedom and rest. I chose to live alone".
"Don't you have a family?", he asked curiously. " Oh I do, a good one, but my choice led me here".
" I think we've heard enough from me, how're about you. What up with the Aura and energy?".
"I presume you know about us?", Alvah asked. "I'm old", was his reply to the question.
He laughed at himself. " Why did you come here, you need something?".
" Yes, I've heard of the fire district, how do I get there?". " What do you want from the fire district?"., he asked looking back at Alvah.
Before Alvah could reply he said, "You need nothing from there, go home".
Alvah furrowed his brows. " Your energy, care to explain".
Alvah kept thinking how the man knows soo much about him. But it's good as he doesn't have to explain himself to him.
" I consist of dual energy". He summarized his issues. "Neutrality?".
Alvah looked at him with a slight confusion on his face. "Neutrality?".he repeated.
"Yes". He replied. He could finally understand what the old man meant.
"That's pretty difficult for someone like you". "Why is that?", Alvah asked with a curious intent.
"You tell me?". he asked him back. " But to be honest, you need balance, but on which side do you want it to be greater in".
"Pure". "Pure, why?", he asked. Alvah looked at him.
The old man stood up, " if you are looking for the fire district, sure you shouldn't be here by now, but seeing you are still seated, I can tell I can also be of interest to you".
"I need to balance my energy". He said ended whatsoever was going on.
"Which means your evil is overwhelming isn't it?".
Alvah nodded.
" Well, you're not in the wrong place. I studied this technique for more than three years, I never thought the reason why I studied it would one day stand before my eyes, or sit".
"You are my mission Alvah". " You can address me as teacher if you want to, or old sire".
"I prefer teacher". "Why?", he asked
"Choice", Alvah replied flatly.
"You", he said laughing with him.
