Celestine chuckles softly as she transfers the phone to her other ear while standing near the all-glass wall, observing the panoramic view of the city in the middle of the day a few stories above in the building.
"Really?" Celestine answers, making an effort to sound surprised even though she is used to a lot of men making their move in order to spend time with her.
She could hear Veronica laugh from the other line while she shifted on her seat relaxing on a private island, "Don't sound too surprised, I know you too well. Trust me with this one, Celestine. Who knows, this man might finally be the man of your life."
"Why can't he be your man then if he is so good?" Celestine asks while walking to her couch and sits down. Her knees hurt from walking all around the hospital.
She fixed her posture and laughed, "Of all people, you know too well that I hate commitments!" Veronica from the other line raised her voice while laughing.
Veronica has always been the player but of course, behind her father's back. The President of the country would not appreciate her daughter hanging out with a lot of men.
"You should know that I do, too, hate commitments." Celestine crosses her legs and leaned her back on the couch. Her lower back pains have been causing her a lot of hassle lately.
Celestine asks, "Who are we talking about by the way?"
"It's Timothy Garcia from the other night! Do you still remember him? I introduced you two at my party. Is he not handsome to you?" Veronica enthusiastically replied.
If Celestine asks, it means that she is getting interested in going on the date tonight. Timothy must really like Celestine because he flew all the way to Veronica's private island just to ask for help in setting him up with her for a date.
Timothy does not chase girls as he does with Celestine. Women chase him. He is the venerable Casanova, a girl magnet.
"Hmm," Celestine is not so interested in going on the date but a little information about Timothy might change that. She asks, "Can you tell me more about him?"
Veronica is unable to sit still now that Celestine asks her about Timothy. She is unsure where to start because there is a lot to know about the famous Timothy.
"Alright! Timothy is the scion of the highly respected and wealthy Garcia family. You may not know the Garcia family that well because you lived abroad for the past ten years but they are the most powerful family in the country. They are known for owning businesses in the sea, land, and air which Timothy would soon inherit. They have shipping line businesses, real estate and construction companies, and an airline company and that's not even all!" Veronica catches her breath after trying to explain how powerful Timothy is.
Celestine makes mental notes of what Veronica just said, "Is that it?" A smile crept on her face.
"The Garcia family has been rich for countless generations already. They are old money rich. Come to think of it, their substantial fortune is so large that they would not be able to spend all of it until they die or until their great grandchildren." Veronica explains, her hair rising just by thinking how extremely powerful Timothy's family is.
"How come we don't see them often in the media or in the news?" Celestine asks.
Veronica smiles, "Because they don't need it. I am pretty sure you know that real crazy rich people value their privacy above anything else."
"To that, I agree." Celestine responds and grinned, "Deal. Tell him I will see him tonight. Just send me the details for our dinner tonight." She said which made Veronica jump up and down and clap her hands out of joy.
Veronica giggles, "That's it! Don't take that back! I will call Tim right now!" She squeals which made Celestine laugh.
"Yes, I won't back out. I am hanging up, bye!" She pressed the end button on her phone and sighed deeply.
Celestine then dials Ava's number on her phone with just a few taps.
"Ava, give me a report about Amira and Timothy Garcia's relationship as soon as possible. Most probably before six in the evening," She instructed as she grabbed her beige trench coat and handbag and made her way out of the office building.
Every employee Celestine passes bows down their heads out of respect and fright. Fright because everyone knows how strict Celestine is when it comes to employee performance. She does not tolerate even the slightest sign of negligence in the hospital, there is no first or second offense when it comes to lives.
She is also known as the feisty President and CEO of The Medical City who never smiles.
"Damn it!" Celestine got stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic for almost two hours already. "The traffic situation in this country is worsening day by day!" She screams inside her car and hits the steering wheel.
Veronica texted her that the dinner tonight with Timothy would take place at seven in the evening which would be at a private resort. Now, it is already a quarter to seven and the heavy traffic has not moved a bit.
Celestine bit her lower lips and was already about to leave her car on the road when her phone chimed indicating an incoming call.
"An unknown number?" She scrolled the green phone sign on the other side to answer it.
A man's voice greeted her from the other line, "Celestine, how are you?" He playfully said but she knows too well that it is Timothy.
Celestine sighed deeply, "I am here stuck in traffic." She replied while honking the horn one more time.
"Where are you now?" Timothy asks. "Here in Colon Highway. I am sorry but I think I can't make it to our dinner tonight." Celestine apologizes because nothing can be helped in this bad traffic that almost stretches almost two kilometers long.
Timothy chuckles from the other line, "The traffic is really bad in that area due to rush hour. Can you take a look on your left? What do you see?" He told Celestine that she would do so. All she saw is a tall glass building on which the night lights are reflecting on.
"A high-rise glass building?" Celestine responds.
"Good. Get off your car, I will send an employee to drive it back. Go inside that building and go to the helipad." Timothy instructed which confused Celestine at first but decided to go out anyway grabbing her handbag.
