Chereads / MY DEMON SYSTEM: IMMORTAL WARS / Chapter 16 - Blood pack rampage 1

Chapter 16 - Blood pack rampage 1

"I think you might have to come down for this one. Stay behind me okay?..." Klaus said praying the little child at least understood the words he was saying. The worst case scenario was to be if the child died in his hands. It was just something he didn't think he would be able to live with.

"This is all my fault. All this for some stupid quest..." Klaus thought to himself as he surveyed the surroundings.

A lot of people were being radically attacked. The strange thing was some of them were just wounded and left alone while others were instantly fed on. It was like the beasts had a preference list that they went by on.

But that was not to say the beasts weren't suffering on their own end. Twenty of them had been killed already but when looking at the number ratio, they seemed to have suffered only minimal casualty until this point. One of the stand out reasons the settlers were losing was the fact that not all of them were combatants. Some were basically just healers with very little to no combat training at all.

Others would have done pretty well on their own but given the numbers advantage, one against two or three wolves was not just an ideal situation. Klaus thought his situation couldn't get any worse but then the wolf that was tossed away by the shadow shuriken bomb returned with wounds all over its body. In addition, it returned with vengeance as it led the charge against him with the other two wolves.

Quickly Klaus threw another shadow shuriken bomb at the trio of wolves approaching him and they got blasted back with peeled furs and burn marks on their bodies. And right there was when a familiar thing began to occur and Klaus having seen it before was not so sure his earlier promise to keep the child safe was guaranteed.

The three wolves had eyes that were visibly glowing red and soon after it looked like the colour from the eyes leaked out onto their bodies and covered them whole like a mist. Now that was familiar, but what Klaus hadn't seen was up next. As right in front of him, their claws elongated, their teeth grew larger and above all, they were bigger and equally wicked looking.

Not even thinking about it, he whipped out his chain with the knife edge and swung it at one of the wolves leading the charge. The blade got stuck in the Wolf's neck and with the knowledge of this, he pulled back and ripped a good amount of flesh off. But that wasn't enough to keep the wolf down as it launched at him with open paws bearing long flesh tearing claws.

.....

Meanwhile just outside the settlement close to a certain woody area. Five men were seen walking towards the forest area. This was the same beast territory the wolves had come from. The only difference was these men were using another route to get to the territory. But just behind them a man ran up to them screaming their names.

"Shiro!!!"..

"Ugana!!!!"

"They are here!!!" The man yelled out for the men to stop and eventually they heard him and stopped.

"Why are you here and what is here and where?" One of the men with a bald head and large frame asked. The man in question carried a large axe like weapon on his back that rivalled just about his height. His name was Mulah.

The man who had stopped them completely ignored Mulah's question and simply looked to someone else.

"Shiro senshi.." The man said with sweat dripping down his face. His clothes were partly torn and blood dripped from his forehead were there was a straight mark that exposed his flesh.

"What is it?. And why are you in this condition?" Mr Zen who was popularly known as Shiro Senshi asked. Apparently he and the other four men were headed into the forest to investigate and if possible put an end to a certain growing pack that was dangerously encroaching the outskirts of their territory. They were informed by hunters within the settlement of the situation. One thing hunters never did was hunt a pack of blood wolves alone. It was simply suicidal to attempt. And this knowledge was wide spread amongst other hunters. As such no hunter could brag of bagging a blood wolf core crystal.

"The pack.. The wolf pack...they are in the settlement" the man said. And immediately all five men turned to look at themselves in surprise. They were told by other hunters that it would atleast take months before they got close to the settlement itself. Which made the news they had just heard quite hard to believe. But given the state of the man telling this to them and the sense of urgency around him, they were forced to believe it had to be true.

"Are there casualties?" Mr Zen asked the man who had brought the news to them.

"Yes...and your son, he is fighting the wolves as we speak". The man delivered. On hearing this Mr Zen's eyes looked like it was going to pop out any second.

"My ..my son ??..."... Mr Zen struggled to get the big words. He stuttered hard that moment and finally decided to calm himself down before speaking again.

" Klaus?" Mr Zen asked to be sure. The man who brought the news responded with a nod. And right before their eyes, Mr Zen bolted off in the direction of the settlement with incredible speed. So fast they had not seen him move and even as he ran all they saw of him was his figure looking partially blurry. His clothes were the only thing that kept him visible.

The other four men with Mr Zen and the one that had come with the news looked at where he stood before. They all could see the place was broken up by his feet. And not just that, there was a trail of his feet shattering the ground heading straight for the settlement.

"Well...we have to catch up!!" One of the men said and they all ran back to the settlement. But their speed in comparison with Mr Zen's was nothing. They were not bothered by this because they had always known Mr Zen for his power which was speed. Although if asked, the display they witnessed had to be his fastest ever. But they understood why he was going this fast, it was after all his son's life on the line.
