Half an hour later, they were outside their building. Ethan inserted the password to the elevator that would straight take him to his penthouse while Esmeralda waited for him. The elevator door opened and she entered it along with him. Both of them were standing there, without uttering a word. The elevator dinged as they reached their house and he let her leave first and then followed her.
The house was empty as nobody was inside. The staff was supposed to come the next morning. Esmeralda and Ethan were the only people standing inside. There was an air of awkwardness between the two of them. However, both of them were pretending to be normal with each other.
"Where are you going?" Ethan asked as he saw her going the other way that did not lead to her room.
"I'm going to get water, "Esmeralda said, looking back at her.
"Oh, "He reacted, not knowing how to behave ahead.
Normally, she asked, "Do you want some?"
