That evening Ethan went home and found Miss Sarah in the living room. When she saw who it was, she was startled but she put herself together and greeted him. He went to his room to take a shower and change into another set of clothing. He arrived downstairs after half an hour.
Ethan was sitting on the dinner table as Sarah was serving the food. However, his gaze was on the other side of the hall.
"Where is Esmeralda?" He finally asked the question.
"She is not at home, "Sarah gave a vague answer. She was working for Ethan and owed loyalty to him. But the few days that she spent with Esmeralda, she had come to like her a lot. She didn't know why but she was mad at him on the behalf of his wife. She knew that it was juvenile of her to behave in such a manner but she could not separate her personal feelings.
Ethan had no clue about the thoughts that were going inside the maid's head. He was oblivious to a lot of things that had been going around him.
