Esmeralda looked at him and asked, "Why did you not call me?"
If he missed her, why did he not call her?
"Fair question, "Ethan answered, "I did not get time to even check my phone. The meeting ended at two. I checked that you did not call or text and came straight here to see you. Imagine my surprise when you were not here."
That's what Esmeralda meant when she said that his answers were not practical. She knew how busy a person could be that he may not even get time to even have meals on time. And he was saying that he would always make time for her. However, it was not the truth but the thought that counted.
She just kept on hugging him, taking in his sweet scent and warmth. Why did it feel like all of her problems shoo away as soon as she hugged him? What kind of voodoo and stuff was it?
