As the woman took a seat there, the waiter seemingly wanted her to move away from there but Esmeralda gestured to him to not ask the lady to go as she was on the way to leave. She did not want to intrude on someone who may also need a dark corner to feel everything like she was doing a while ago.
The waiter was a kind man. Instead of telling anyone that a celebrity was sitting in his cafe, he made sure that she would be disturbed by anyone and so she could sit there in peace. Thinking this actually made her smile as there were always some people who would take care of you even if you are nothing to them. They would take care of you even if they wanted nothing from you or you could not do anything for them in return. People like the waiter are gems and the balance of good and evil has been maintained by people like them.
