Another piece of story I wanted to write down exploring from other kind of angle, it's still fiction story though.
HERO OF HELM STREET
The rain was pouring heavily on the streets, it had started in the evening now it was nearing midnight no one was seen roaming on the streets.
Jeff's day was boring as koala's, nothing interesting had occurred all day on his watch he even helped an old lady to cross the road, huh and they say it only happens in movies. He watched himself in the car dashboard mirror his blond hair was neat and well combed as always, then he stared at his own mesmerizing blue eyes and then he remembered how the black glasses always looked good on him as his hand went for the drawer he stopped himself once he saw three men crossing the street in rain coats hands in their pocket and taking fast long strides as if in a hurry, Jeff got an uneasy cop instinct as he watched them. He always liked his hometown helm and wanted to protect it and that is why he became a cop so as to protect his hometown and make it safe for kids to grow up and play.
Joyner mansion was quiet as ever and the rain didn't help the place look any less creepy. It was surrounded by trees which kept the house in dark shadows without the lights in the front porch and presence of the road to the mansion no one would have thought a house was built there, inside was no better than outside from the exception of light on the front porch which illuminated some furniture in the sitting room the whole inside was dark and gloomy.
Then shadow of men passed across the front porch no sooner the sound of keys were heard being turned on the rear entrance, then the door was slowly opened and the same three men in rain coats entered. They were soaking wet and water droplets from their coats fell on the floor, only part visible was the eyes their mouths were covered in black bandana. They watched the surrounding of the sitting and dining room once they saw everything was fine they slowly crept up the stairs. Nothing was heard while they were up in the upper floors few minutes later they came down the stairs each men carried a leather bag on his hand, as before they slowly crept through the dining room heading to the back entrance they had used to enter.
"Police! Stop right there." A voice behind them commanded, all three men came to sudden halt.
They slowly turned around to see who gave the command, they saw a guy in his mid-twenties in a police uniform but of course the men didn't know it was Jeff to them he was just another officer meddling around.
"Easy mate, let us put down our luggages." The man in front of Jeff said in thick British accent as he raised his left hand in air while the right hand was slowly lowering the bag.
The man at the back wanted to play rough his free hand went for the gun inside the coat, which was a big mistake. Jeff was a top shooter not only at the station but also at the academy he passed with flying colors in shooting range class, so when he saw the man at the back playing dumb he didn't hesitate to pull the trigger both shots got him on the shoulder the man went sprawling to the floor with a wail the other two dived for cover. The gunfight didn't last long if you asked anyone on Helm Street they know about the story they even named it "JEFF THE GUNSLINGER AND TRIGGER HAPPY BOYS".
No one died in the gunfight but the robbers
all were injured two were shot in the leg and the last one two bullets hit him on his left shoulder, and Jeff came out unscathed, Mr. and Mrs. Joyner thanked Jeff for his bravery and hard work. The bags which robbers were caught stealing contained money which the Joyner's kept for emergence, no one knew how the robbers found out about the cash since the robbers never talked and when they were taken to court they pleaded guilty. Jeff became the hero of his home town Helm Street and even got a promotion at the police station which made him to be the youngest cop with higher ranks at the station, all his dreams came out true in the end.
**********
"That was an amazing piece Lucy." Mr. Sammy their English teacher praised Lucy after she had finished reading her story.
Lucy felt insecure and exposed standing in front of the whole class and reading her fiction out loud. Becoming a cop is her dream career so when they were told to go and write any short story of their choosing she saw why not create her own role model from the story so as to make her dream become a reality and to say the truth she really did enjoy the story every moment and second of it. Mr. Sammy gave her A+ for the story piece and her story came out on top of her class.
