"You should be happy I made it once every month not once every two or three months." Malik stands and sighs. "Do not forget, you are siblings, and siblings always have each other's back. Move out this evening so you can resume back to work properly tomorrow." He walks out.
"What are we going to do?" Shamim asks. "We can't possibly get an apartment that suits us and furnish it all today."
"I will be with Abdullah for a while, why not talk to Juvenal? She should be able to accommodate you for a while."
"That will be very difficult Ella."
"Why?" Ella asks again.
"She thinks I want to use her because I already broke up with Cassndra. We aren't really on good terms presently."
"So where did you sleep?"
"I slept in one of the vacant rooms very close to yours."
"You left her all by herself all through the night?!"
"She requested for that herself, I guess she isn't comfortable with me anymore." He laughs. "You know, she used to be all over me at work. Remember that lady I told you about the day I went for the interview?"
"The one who was acting strange?"
"Yes." Shamik nods. "She is juvenal, and even after knowing that I have a girlfriend, she didn't see it as anything embarrassing to shoot her shot."
"But her perspective changed the moment you told her about Cassndra?"
"Yes." He stands and inhales sharply. "I will be at Darifa's residence for the main time. You know, since she is moving in with my parents."
"Oh! That's a very good idea. Will
You go and talk to her now?" asks Miss Smith.
"Should I?" He scratches the back of his head. "I am a bit shy."
"Shy for what? For Godssake! Darifa is not a stranger."
"Why are you both shouting my name this loud?" Darifa asks calmly and shuts the door behind her. "My ears were itching me seriously, so I decided to trace where the sound of my name was coming from."
"Come here!" Ella orders demonstrating with her hand.
"Why are you ordering me around now?" she asks and sits where Shamim was sitting before.
"Why do you suddenly wish to live with my parents?"
Darifa exhales deeply and replies. "You know, it's so wonderful to stay with people who really love and accept you for you are. Your parents are the only elderly people in this world that sees me as an human being."
Shamim nods. "That is so great to hear from someone else. My parents are so wonderful."
"But we need your help on something." Ella proposes.
She repositions herself and stares at Ella paying rapt attention. "What is that?"
"All of a sudden, my father asked us both to move out of the house."
"Why? Did you offend him?" Darifa asks again.
"He claims he wants us to be independent and face the real world. The funniest part is that he wants us to move out today."
"Today?! Isn't that ridiculous? Has he informed you about it earlier before?"
"No." Shamim shakes his head. "He just told us some minutes ago."
"So what will you do now? Where will you stay?"
"I will be with Abdullah for a while, but Shamim has no where to stay. Which is why we are asking for your help."
"What is the help all about?" Darifa asks still.
"Since you would be moving in with our parents, could you please allow him stay at your apartment for a while?" Miss Smith asks politely.
"Is that the help you need?" The siblings nods. "You both are a thing to deal with later." She chuckles. "Asking for my apartment is what you made a very big deal out of?" She deeps her hands into her joggers pockets and pulls out a bunch of keys. "Here you go." She passes it to Shamim, more like throwing. "I was about yo go drop the key to one of those matured orphanage in need of an apartment, because it's going to be totally useless since I am moving to that wonderful mansion of yours." She says with a sweet smile.
Shamim holds the keys tightly in his left hand and with other hand in his pocket, he whispers to Darifa. "I owe you a big one, never will I forget what you did for me today."
"Can I come in?!" Abdullah asks from outside.
"No!" Shamim retorts jokingly. "Do not step a foot in this room yet."
"Are you crazy?" Ella asks with a serious face and says loudly. "Abdullah, come in."
