Chapter 146 - oversee, realization

"stand still, we can play this to our advantage." He said to kass.

He activated conceal. It was his first time actually using it and he wasn't using it on himself. A swirling black fog that was the same as the other covered kass and she disappeared.

Multiple rumbles were heard as Damon could see twelve more pillars rising up. The area now looked like a mini forest of white pillars with black cloudy fog or mist all around them.

Damon knew the pillars were the real issue for now. He had been tracking Maru with his rain the entire time but Maru was just too fast.

When Damon and his squad were being surrounded by the bone bats at the beginning of their first mission he could feel them as soon as they entered his rain.

It was something he could do when his opponent was difficult to see or he couldn't keep up with them.

He hadn't done it much because their was no need until now. Damon also felt and knew it wasn't going to be enough to just simply know where Maru was because of his speed and ability to merge inside his pillars.

For the moment he had two for sure ways to find Maru's location through the dark fog he created with his clouds. His rain and through oculus. It was when maru entered his pillars that caused the most problems.

Damon conjured small clouds in his palms and filled them with electricity. It was the same attack he learned with monsoon that had an odd skill.

Damon ran forward placing the small storm balls on the pillars. They stuck on the pillars like gum and began surrounding them as electric whips stretched out around each pillar like tentacles.

Maru stood still in the fog feeling Damons movement.

"What is he up to. Is he still trying to get rid of my pillars." He asked himself while seeing whips of electrical current thrash around in the same exact places he placed his pillars.

Suddenly a kick was thrown at him from his left side. it was super fast and surprised him as he only noticed it at the last moment.

Maru blocked the kick and thrusted a palm in the same direction it came from but hit nothing which surprised him again.

The same thing occured over five more times which peeked Maru's interest greatly.

"Hmmm, it's probably Damon attacking me, if it was kass I would have seen her aura. Unless she isn't using it, but if it's her and she's not using her speed and strength boosting energy, how are they coming so fast." He thought to himself while moving out the way of another kick.

This time as he moved instead of punching or thrusting a palm. He went for a grab which resulted in a miss as well.

Maru smiled at this. He knew he could take it up a notch, and easily catch the person but was starting to have fun and wanted to see how well this tactic would work. So he decided to not go above the strength he was at currently which was him not being totally serious.

Damon had just finished placing his small storm clouds on all the pillars in the area. He had been keeping an eye on kass attempts to hit Maru as it was easy for him to see and Maru had yet disappeared into one of his pillars.

"Concealment worked on her pretty good, it only hides 5 percent of a person's presence though, but it looks like Maru is having a tough time with catching kass." Damon thought.

He took a brief moment thinking why would that be when it suddenly hit him to try something he never thought about before.

"Oversee."

[A non automated skill~ shadow haze~ A by product of your clouds. This skill has multiple functions depending on how it is used. Can be renamed after reaching automated state.]

[Available functions]

Primary function~ A dark haze used for cover. When paired with the skill concealment, a screen of haze can be casted over anyone or anything making a person or object appear invisible along with an added five percent of concealment while inside shadow haze. All attacks are concealed as well as long as they are within the 10 meter concealment radius.

Secondary function ~ paired with cloud manipulation. Dark haze can be manipulated into any shape or form your mind can conjure. An elemental attribute is required.

Memories suddenly rushed back into his mind as he read the second function.

"The black mist, back in the class room with miss grey. It shaped into a snake and it came alive as electricity combined with it." He thought with his mouth slightly open in disbelief.

This entire time Damon would use his automated moves and also what he called freestyling, trying to make things up as he went. Many freestyle moves like the hand size storm ball of clouds and shadow haze were just moves he hadn't performed a thousand times yet to turn it into an automated skill.

Using oversee on his own skill that hadn't been automated yet, he didn't think any information would show. This information explained why Maru was actually having a challenging time. It wasn't just because of conceal, but a combination of two that worked super well together.

Damon glanced at his ki pool. It was extremely low. He became irritated once again thinking about how much ki majority of his skills took. He had already reached less than a hundred ki in a matter of 10 minutes.

He understood, he would have to work with everything he had out at the moment and took off to join in on the fight.

Moving from side to side as he approached them he could see Maru standing in one spot rotating slowly with his eyes closed. He pushed more ki into his legs after getting closer pushing off the ground throwing a faint high strike that shifted into a twisting back handed fist with a small amount of lightning.

Maru sensed the energy coming, following it he parryed the strike and partially grabbed on to Damons wrist but was hit with a ball of red energy at his side that seemed to appear there in a manner of seconds.

His aura blocked the ball but the attack managed to push him back which gave Damon a second to yank his arm away before he grabbed on to him fully.

"He's not having a tough time finding me, because I'm not covered in concealment like kass. I can't use it on myself. My ki is too low and it takes too much to use."

"Hmm, yes, that was Damon just now. I could tell by the flow of his energy which is wild. So kass has been the one giving me trouble, but how." Maru thought.

Damon stepped back releasing a web of lightning. Maru's hand glowed white as he placed it out in front making a shield of aura around himself.

The lighting crackled and crashed into his shield. Damon held his position releasing a steady stream of lightning. It moved wildly shooting all around Maru but his aura defensive strength was impeccable.

"Now." Damon yelled.

Kass began twisting in place like a tornado as red and green energy mixed. She stretched out her leg swiping it hard upward releasing a huge sharp curving energy.

It crashed into Maru's back as he didn't realize it until it was upon him. The reason was because of concealment. The dark mist didn't only make kass difficult to sense and see, but her energy attacks as well.

Maru only sensed the attack once it surged out of the concealment bubble kass was in which was ten meters.

Maru felt the hit behind him as it pushed against his body moving him forward only a few feet. He now was being attacked from both sides.

"Ha, you two will have to do better than that."

Maru foot dug into the ground. He pushed forward bulldozing through the webs of lightning and within a second was grabbing Damon by the neck slanging him down to the ground with a choke slam.

Damon lost his breath as his back hit the ground. He was slammed so hard, his eyes bulged out while not being able to express the pain with a discomforting scream.

He then raised his palm behind him as a white stone appeared the size of a marble. It shot off like a bullet cutting through the fog.

"Ahhhh." Kass scream was heard and the next second a crashing noise in the distance.

"You should have moved from the spot your previous attack came from kass." He said calmly.

Damon felt his mind slipping as his consciousness was fading. As this happened the the shadow haze disappeared.

"Your mistake was focusing too much on my pillars. You set traps at every one of them hoping I would use them again. Smart, but your focus should have been on team work from the very beginning. You waited too long. By the time you joined in to help kass, I had begun to adapt to the tricks of that black fog."

"Whenever you have your opponent hesitant. Or if their busy trying to figure you out. Seven out of ten. That is the best time to go all out." Maru said in length. Watching Damon eyes blink slowly.

Damon cracked a slight smile.

"Ha, me going all out is this." He said softly.

"Oculus flash."
