Chapter 145 - A fighting conversation 2

Damon waved his hand. The static sword flew down stabbing into the top of a pillar.

Maru eyes widened in disbelief.

"That attack actually pierced my stone." His face expression of disbelief turned into a smile as he stepped out from another pillar.

"A good attack, but if your plan was to destroy my stone pillar with that strike. Well it looks like you failed. However I am very surprised it was able to pierce my stone. He said to Damon.

Kass and Damon looked at him for a second and then at eachother. Suddenly tentacles of electricity sprung out the sword and began slapping the top and side of the pillar wildly.

"My attack hasn't failed yet, as you can see it's not over." Damon said with a smile before waving his hands again. This time many static swords came surging down stabbing into the other pillars as well and soon did the same as the first.

Maru laughed a little. "Even if you managed to destroy them, which I highly doubt. I can create more, so many more. I'm sure you've guessed that already so why waste your energy on them. "

"Just testing out my attacks on something so strong. That's all."

While Maru and Damon was chatting. Kass had been preparing something. Red energy was being gathered behind Maru. It started off as big as an orange but now was the size of a watermelon.

Damon had also prepared something which was in the air charging like usual, but this time he had charging bolt merged within the storm clouds. He did this to not give it away so easily.

He thought a sperate cloud much smaller than the main one that was placed off to the side would be a little suspicious, especially with its constant charging flash it would create while charging.

He casted it at the beginning of the match which was something he thought to do with every fight from now on because of its charging time. He still wasn't ready to use it as it had only been a few minutes.

"Do they really think this little trick is going to help them." Maru thought to himself acting as if he wasn't paying attention behind him.

The ball blasted off and was seconds from hitting Maru when a pillar shot up beneath his feet pushing him up and out the way easily.

Damon stretched out both of his arms commanding the whips of lightning from each sword that was stabbed at the top of five pillars.

They moved like a snake while sparking off branches of electricity in random areas following the pillar upwards. Kass controlled her energy ball curving it making it go up as well and was also in pursuit of maru.

Maru's body flashed white and the next second he fell through the top of the pillar.

A second later he came out from the bottom of another one close to them kicking both of them in the chest lightly.

He then punched them multiple times. Kass and Damon had gathered themselves after the kick and tried to dodge. Maru performed numerous of moves and with every strike they were unable to block.

Maru never missed and always struck them in the same area multiple times before they could react.

In a desperate attempt Damon covered his entire body with lightning while getting into his rain dance style of fighting. His right hook was thrown which faded into a low elbow towards Maru's stomach.

"Interesting movements." Maru said outloud. As he reached down to block.

"Got you." Kass yelled as she too was attacking in sync with Damon. Maru seemed to be focused more on Damons movement as they had become a little more tricky than before.

Just before Damons elbow touched Maru blocking hand it faded once again turning into an uppercut heading straight up on the side of his blocking hand.

Damon was gritting his teeth and could see his uppercut would connect. kass was throwing a super speedy kick as lime green and red energy covered her entire leg. The force behind her kick brought a strong wind with it sounding like a vaccume.

Everything was in sync and looked to be in slow motion. Maru cracked a smile as he tapped his foot slightly on the ground while still motioning his body and hands to be preparing to block their attacks.

Two small rods of white stone the size of a staff pushed up from the ground at breakneck speed. One came up between Damons feet heading straight for his chin and the other targeted kass ribcage as her body was in a hip twisting motion.

Bang! Bang!

Damon's head snapped backwards with force. His legs buckled like a newborn calf resulting in him hitting the ground. His eyesight was blurry, ears ringing and his head felt shaken up and unstable as blood poured from his mouth.

He tried to gain his composure but his legs weren't responding properly.

Kass was lifted up in the air sideways as multiple cracks were heard that sounded like branches being snapped in half. She screamed in pain instantly grabbing her side. She could feel part of her ribcage torn and broken as the stone rod puncture her side.

She hit the ground breathing heavily while wincing and shaking in pain.

"Your guards were down. It was too enticing not to capitalize on. Just because your opponent seems to be at a disadvantage, doesn't necessarily means they truly are." Maru spoke while walking forward.

"This guy is a real monster. He's been toying with us the entire time hitting us light mostly. That last one I didn't even see coming." Damon thought.

"Give us a second." Damon shouted getting to his feet walking slowly over to kass who had made it to her knees.

They both conversed for a short time as they checked their wounds. Damons eyes lit up with surprise as a yellow energy moved to the open wound on kass side.

It was a defined puncture wound and one could see meat, muscles and bone easily. The energy wrapped around the broken rib bones connecting them back together hardening in place.

A thin flat layer in the shape of a square then laid flat over the opening of the wound. It was like a bandage made from her own energy.

"You two do know that in a real life and death battle you're not going to get this opportunity right. Kass, how many times have I told you, you must perform your tourniquet technique much faster. You must be able to do what you just did the second you have a wound of that caliber during a fight."

"Damon, you left yourself wide open after your third faint. Your strange movement were interesting making the faints 10 times more difficult to catch. I'm sure you thought you had me. Thing is, this is your first time facing me or an opponent like me and vice versa. "

"My attack could have easily been a kill shot. You must be aware and think many steps ahead."

Shoo!

Another pole shot from the ground grazing Damons face, missing him by a hair as Maru spoke.

Damon had felt it coming and managed to react in time.

"Good, exactly like that, but you must be much faster. Faster to the point you can capitalize on it. Even attacks such as the one I used. They may be long range in a sense, but there is always a way around your opponents moves. " Maru said.

"Now get up and fight for your lives with everything you got." Maru yelled.

Damon had casted recovery mist a while ago and his minor injuries were almost healed completely. Maru noticed this but said nothing as he didn't know how it was possible.

He knew of kass tourniquet technique because he helped her develop it and so he wanted to see more of what Damon could do.

"You've faced him before right. Damon asked kass..... Yes, many times for training."

"He knows your ability and fighting style, not mines. You help me out with evading him and I'll get us a clear shot at him."

Kass agreed to follow Damons lead as he focused. His eyes lit up with force as he raised his hands up and then down with his palms facing down.

Parts of the storm clouds above descended and grew in width surrounding the area below. the rain continued to pour out from the one stationed further up, but the black cloud that split from it was more like black fog.

"Interesting, yet another thing he can do with his ability. What is this. I don't sense anything dangerous within this fog. He must be going after my vision." Maru assessed as the fog made it more difficult for him to see clearly.

Damon had thought to use this as he did something similar to block out blanes power back in the rocky hills. Back then it was actual clouds but he had made the black mist before and more than once unintentionally.

This time he focused on the clouds structure and pulled out pieces of it instead because using the clouds in its full cloudy form like he was using the mist costed him a lot of ki.

"Stay close, we can play this to our advantage." He said to kass.
