Chapter 141 - thinking ahead

Five more minutes passed and Damon had only struggled slightly after partially transforming.

The boulder turned back yellow and all the effects stopped. He placed it down looking ahead.

"These courses are tough. I've only completed two and had to resort to my demonic powers so soon." He thought while looking ahead. He was trying not to count the many obstacles that were in the center of the track.

Damon felt like he was fooling himself. He realized it was no way he could complete the courses. Not with his current power. So Damon did something neither of them expected. He gave up.

"Why, why not continue. Giving up isn't going to help you at all." Tusk told him with a disappointed look.

"I'm waisting my energy. Its no way I'll complete it in time, you know it and so does the 4th chief."

"Besides, when I said I give up. I meant on the challenge not the workouts. "

Damon explained further and next they were walking through the entire field. Damon went to every trial area to get an understanding of each one. It took them only an hour and a half to get done as tusks explanations we're short, sweet and to the point but also informative.

In total there were thirty nine trials and each one were completely different. Damon couldn't wrap his head around it.

Every rock there was different and for different things. He had never heard of such rocks and stones before and from using oversee on each of the stones weren't rare at all but he learned the uses and effects of each stone could only be activated by a person of the bijou race.

After the stone types were activated they would stay active for 72 hours and deactivate completely becoming a normal stone again. This made Damon believe the gym created by the 4th was already active or tusk activated them some how.

Afterwards, Tusk decided to take his leave but Damon stayed going over the many of training areas.

"This race, the training games outside and throughout the city. They are all about staying in shape and gaining power yet their race do not fight." Damon thought as he grabbed on to a stone crafted into a spear.

He had to throw it over a hundred meters and it was incredibly heavy especially welding it with one hand.

Thinking back Damon recalled the bijou race had to be around during the war of kingdoms.

Many homes and structures were destroyed everywhere back then. But what he did know from their history was everything was restored rather quickly and from learning the reason the bijou race was allowed to stay on planet syair.

He was sure they were the main reason many homes and structures were rebuilt back then so quickly and efficiently.

It was just thoughts and he planned to ask in the near future.

Damon failed at throwing the spear shaped stone multiple times, but that didn't stop him from making some type of progress. He managed to throw it twenty meters.

He moved on to another workout which included two small baseball size balls. This was a workout he couldn't wait to try after tusk informed him about its uses.

One ball was orange in color and the other was ice blue. The two balls would fade of color becoming clear every thirty seconds.

[Clear quartz stone ~ a stone that can replicate elements by causing server hallucinations. These stone have been a form of practice to resists whatever element it wields through mental and physical pain.]

Damon picked up the blue one and seconds later could feel a cold tingling sensation crawling up the hairs on his arm. A minute later ice began forming on his hand and had begun to spread upwards.

He gritted his teeth as the sensation started to feel as if the ice was piercing his skin. Within two minutes he had to let the ball go as his arm was almost completely frozen.

Soon as he let go of the stone ball the effects it had on him disappeared like it was never there which was very interesting to him. Even the pain he felt was gone.

He repeated it over and over trying to understand why such a thing was included as a workout or training. Around the twelfth time he received the answer.

[Ding!]

[A resistance from ice has been formed. You now have a resistance to the element ice and cold weather or enviormental temperature decrease by 10 percent.]

[Passive skill has been created. Blood heat.]

[Blood heat~ a passive skill that automatically activates when any part of your body reaches two degrees lower than your normal body temperature by heating up the blood through your energy resulting in fighting cold sensations.]

"A resistance to the cold by 10 percent. If it has a percentage that means it can be Increased." He thought with a wide smile.

He felt good about the passive skill even if 10 percent resistance wasn't really much. He knew it was still something. The last passive skill he received was cloud manipulation.

He gathered his thoughts and then turned to the orange ball and could guess what its effects were.

The next minute he was breathing heavily while collapsed on his knees with burn marks all over his body. Flames had engulfed half of his body resulting in him dropping the stone ball.

"Pfffff, cough, cough!

He spit up and coughed uncontrollably trying to catch his breath with watery eyes. It was difficult for him to breathe for a few seconds but once he was able to. He looked at the orange stone with a crazed stare.

The burning pain he felt, how fast the fire moved across his body. It was a hundred times faster than the freezing effects of the other stone.

He figured the orange one would be fire and that he could use it like he used the ice one to gain some type of resistance from fire.

He was right about the element but did not think it would be 10 times more painful than the other. Unlike the ice which gradually increased in pain, the fire did the opposite as the flames grew wild all over his arm in not time engulfing the top half of his body.

Damon was hurt mentally and physically so bad and so quickly he became hesitant to grab onto the orb again.

Just then someone else walked in and to his surprise it was a pink skinned female with violet colored eyes.

She walked gracefully like a soft blowing wind. She was very pretty and stood around 5 foot 9. Her shape was petite but still curvy wearing a violet colored cloth wrap that covered her chest but revealed her stomach like many of the female bijous.

"Kass." Damon thought seeing her.

Seconds later the women called Luna walked in behind her.

They went over to the track that circled around the multiple workout circuits. They noticed Damon when entering and while Luna smiled at him lightly, kass on the other hand gave him another cold look like before.

Damon didn't understand what he had done to kass for her to keep giving him those type of looks.

"Maybe she's just a pretty girl with a resting bitch face or something." He thought.

[Oversee.]

[Vajra/ human race~ A being with no distinct element of power. No further information can be found.]

[ Power level 1778]

"Damn she's on vora's level of power. Vora's human form anyway." Damon thought using oversee.

He then decided to spectate as kass got into a running stance preparing to run the obstacle track. Damon had used it earlier as well while warming up but, actually he was completing the task to run 3 miles for his punishment.

The track would constantly and randomly change its structure creating rocky terrains that woukd make it more difficult on anyone using it. In the three miles Damon ran he managed to increase his speed and agility by 3 which brought his speed up to 47 and agility to 35.

His stats were now.

Strength~48/1000

Agility~35/1000

Speed~47/1000

Stamina~40/1000

Vitality~130/1000

Dexterity ~32/1000

Charm~18/1000

intelligence ~27/1000

Kass stretched her legs and arms a little as Luna prepared a hand signals to start.

Kass pushed off strong as a lime green aura surrounded her feet and a pink rippling energy surrounded her hands.

She effortlessly jumped over rocks that moved from side to side surging forward sliding through two rock walls that were opening and closing fast.

Rocky spikes began stabbing out of the ground and in a agile manner she flipped and twisted her body like a gymnast doing cartwheels, backflips and somersaults dodging them cleanly.

Next she came to a part of the track that began to rise on one side over 30 meters high making a ramp that was slick and smooth with an icy glare on it.

The pink energy surrounding her feet intensified and her speed increased. A orange energy also swept around her knees, elbows and feet as she ran and climbed the icy ramp.

She had no traction going up the ice ramp and so she would constantly switch back and forth from running up straight and bear crawling fighting to grip on to anything she could.

"A race with no distinct element." Damon thought thinking back to the little information he gathered.
