Chapter 73 - Rain Man

with what Damon found out he was confident as ever when it came to his growth. Damon felt and followed the rain and moved his hands back and forth finding a rhythm. slowly the rain began to sway back and forth with his hands. he then pushed his palms forward and the rain coming down following. looking at it from monsoon's view it looked like the falling rain made a sharp turn as soon as it came near Damon all the rain followed in the shape of an L.

seeing this Damon thought about the element and energy manipulation. people could manipulate elements and energy to shape like objects. such as a sword made of water and fire. he remembered how monsoon made a powerful ball of clouds which he believed would only be beneficial in the sky most of the time. "hmph, if I'm going to practice my rain skills for the rest of the day I may as well go hard or go home." he thought bumping his fists together.

he then focused on trying to shape the rain instead of moving it a certain direction. hours had passed and there was nothing at all. he started to believe maybe he had energy manipulation all wrong but then remembered that he could shape his electricity very easy so he was stumped but continued trying. more hours passed and he still hadn't gotten anywhere.

"you, know. I can help you but it's getting boring helping you for free. I mean I guess I should help you no matter what to become stronger cause if you die I die, buuuuuuut. I think I'ma be a bit of an asshole cause i don't know, I just feel like it ya know." monsoon said

"you're doing this because you just wanna be an asshole all of a sudden." Damon asked with side eyes. well yea pretty much. when I'm bored I tend to turn into an asshole. don't judge me. you have your stubbornness and at times I like to be an asshole."

Damon eyes squinted closely together before asking monsoon what he had up his sleeve.monsoon was still acting as a replica of Damon as he stood in the back and watched him every hour and every day.

"well, I will only help you with this particular issue if you promise to tell shield something for me. you must promise and I'll know if you did or not so don't try and swindle me. that's all you want, me to be is a messenger, well shit hell yea I'll deliver it I promise, just tell me what I'm doing wrong.

"fine. let's see you try it again and as you try I'll tell you know what you're doing wrong and why it isn't working.

Damon began trying once more. "answer me this, is rain a body of water or is it individual droplets of water. I mean, I think both. it could be just a very small body of water couldn't it. wrong it's called rain for a reason. it already has a set function and motion of its own. you must treat it differently from manipulating something such as regular water or fire or even your electricity. your electricity is only considered electricity when it's coming from you or something else not when it's weather that creates that electric charge but that goes back to functions. I'll stick with the rain for now.

you're trying to change the shape of rain when rain is a function. meaning an occurrence. it's something the clouds are doing so just because rain is water doesn't mean you can shape it. don't shape what it's doing. shape the element. in your head you're not thinking about shaping water or a raindrop you're thinking of shaping rain, a function rather than what rain actually is. I'm surprised you didn't figure it out. especially with your little static rain show you put on before.

Don't worry about what the water is doing and don't look at it as rain. listening to monsoon's words Damon focused. now look at one drop of rain and find it's energy flow. "but, I have to be in my demonic form to do that. " Damon responded. no you do not. energy is everywhere right, so feel it and then find it. Damon focused harder and finally felt the rain drops with individual strands of energy attached to them.

now, remember it's not rain. it's not a function it's just water. hone in on that drop of water as it falls and do as you would with your lightning. Damon did as he was told and within a second that one drop turned into a very very very very small dagger. Damon watched it shape itself like it was in slow motion.

"there you go, now weaponize it with your ki. Damon added a small amount of ki to it and the dagger made from a small drop of water looked to have a silver glow with it. Damon watched it as it continued to come down and hit the ground. unlike all the other and normal drops of rain. the drop of rain turned dagger pierced into the ground.

"woah, that actually worked. of course it did. I'm a great teacher. monsoon said boastfully. I never thought to add more ki into the rain or like you just said the droplets of water. Damon felt good about his one drop of rain because he knew in time he would be able to change them all at will.

thinking about the system and its automatic functions when it came to creating attacks a wide creepy smile was plastered on his face. "it'll still be tough as hell, but I can do it. I'll grow in time." he told himself while focusing on the rain again.

he learned more and more about the rain. many things he learned weren't in the book monsoon gave him because the book mostly explained how the rain worked with natural elements. and how to take advantage of the environment with rain. but it did have tips on fighting and using it as a tool while fighting. which was called precipitation.

precipitation was synching with the flow of rain. it was something he witnessed monsoon doing. he failed at it numerous of times and this time monsoon did not lend a hand. he tried following the rains pattern but was always too slow or out of sync.

He then began going over the rain dance fighting style. he had gotten better with all the unorthodox movements of his feet and were performing certain moves accurately.

he would twist left to right while moving his feet another time a little before his simple twist was complete making a low but quick side step that turned into a low sliding kick and then into a low stance with an outstretched elbow. this move was to be performed as quickly as possible before your opponent hit the ground after taking their legs from under them. it was called sweeping rain. a short combo attack that took your opponent balance while connecting an elbow to a certain nerve in their lower abdomen that would numb a section of their hips for a few seconds makings it difficult to get back up quickly.

Damon practiced all of the rain moves that began with or ended in kicks because he knew his legs were the main thing he needed to get better with. he performed low kicks, side kicks, jumping kicks, high kicks using just the heel of his foot.

he also trained on standing on each leg twenty minutes straight. while performing these same kicks which increased its difficulty greatly. Damon danced and moved constantly trying to mimic the flow of the rain from time to time but felt that the precipitation movement would take a great amount of time to achieve.

he trained hard not stopping once for the rest of the day. he noticed his stamina had risen a good bit and he also finally increased his range comfortably with how far he could stretch out his rain clouds.

monsoon's teachings about the rain earlier when he made the water dagger had planted another idea in his head. he did the same thing but this time focused merging multiple rain drops creating one big droplet of water. he then shaped it into a short sword and added more ki which in turn made it deadly.

the extra ki he added encased the water sword making the outer parts as strong as steel while the inner parts remained like water. this also gave him the idea to do as he did earlier to create static rain.

he then merged a ball of lightning with it and now like the raindrops before a florescent blue light could be seen jolting inside it. as it fell Damon stopped it by moving it's energy and it was now suspended in the air a few feet away from him. "what should I call you. he thought well first lets see how powerful you are." he yelled swing his hand aiming for part of a canyon in the distance.

The sword flew through the air with speed piercing within the canyon walls. the florescent blue lit as a web of lighting blasted forward. A small chunk of the canyon wall collapsed and broke into pieces. The static popped and crackled as the sword disappeared.
